| Although we picked one of the hottest days of the summer to take our tour, it was a lot of fun nonetheless (97 degrees!!). Our guide allowed us plenty of opportunities to go inside, in air conditioning, to take little breathers along the way. We tried to walk in the shade, take refuge under doorways, etc!!. She was very personable, humorous, and a lot of fun. Gave lots of interesting little tidbits of info about history, architecture, theatre, cultural stuff - famous nightclubs in the 50's and 60's, personalities, etc., and did it in a way that was not a lecture, but more conversational. The food was a great sampling representing the multi-ethnicity of Greenwich Village. We skipped breakfast because the tour was from 11:00 to 2:00 - we tasted enougn stuff in small quantities to make up for breakfast and lunch. No one will go hungry on this tour. I would definitely recommend this tour for others, although I want to add that if a family has really "picky" kids/teenagers, this might not be the tour for them because there is a wide variety of ethnic foods - it just depends on how much the kids have been exposed to different foods, are willing to try new things, etc. I would not recommend the tour for families with preschoolers because of this. There is New York pizza and desserts, though. | ||||||

| I must highly recommend this tour. It is a wonderful way to explore one of the coolest neighborhoods of NYC. weather or not you are a serious foodie...or just someone who likes to eat...this tour gives ample opportunity to sample the local restaurants and shops and much inspiration for dining experiences while in the city. I highly recommend you do this tour at the beginning of a stay in New York so that you can take advantage of the information and come back and explore the shops and restaurants on your own. You will leave this tour armed with info about good restaurants and food related shops in the area...and as full as if you had sat down for a leisurely lunch. A definite MUST DO! | ||||||

| It was a nice combination of food and history of neighbourhood. Tasting was delicious and abundant. I don't think you can go for big dinner after that. Susan is very proffesional, friendly and made everybody comfortable. Can you do tasting tours like this in other parts of city? Thanks. | ||||||

| This is a great overall view of the West Village, the homes, and the food in the area. Much more fun than a regular walking tour, plus you have had lunch by the time you finish and know of many places to go for dinner. | ||||||

| Even though it was one of the hottest days in NYCity we had a wonderful tour. We highly recommend it! Suggestions: Skip the chocolate cookie stop and add another "real food" place. Also would have been good to at least mention the importance the Village has played in the Gay rights movement, Stonewall etc.. This wasn't talked about at all. But all in all it was great! Caution though... there were at least two folks in our group who had some difficulty walking and I think it was a bit hard for them-- so those folks may want to look into something else. | ||||||

| Looking for a new adventure in NY...this is it! We signed up for the tour, because it looked unique and gave us an opportunity to explore a part of the city that we had not taken the time to visit. To our delight, we had a wonderful tour guide who lived in the neighborhood and was a wealth of information. He was charming and entertaining, and he answered every question we asked. His love of the neighborhood and its various cuisines allowed us to experience Greenwich Village as a new neighbor might. The variety of foods we ate was incredible....pizza, tarts, Greek olives, and falafels...just to name a few. We saw the 9 1/2 food wide house, as well as one of the famous speak-easys from the Prohibition. Without our guide, we would never have known they were tucked away in the backstreets of Greenwich Village. This is the tour for those who like to eat, laugh, exercise AND go home with a little NY trivia and history. | ||||||

| I found this tour on the internet and thought I would take a chance. The tour was so entertaining and informative not to mention the great food you get to try along the way. Our tour guide, Kurt, made the tour outstanding and I would recommend it to all my friends visiting New York. Thank you for introducing us to so many great food shops and touring the area! | ||||||

| This was an interesting tour of the food of Grenwich Village. We left with a written description and map of over 30 restaurants and other food shops in the Village. The tour guide was intimately familiar with the Village and did a great job accomodating my husband, who cannot eat milk products, and a 9-month pregnant woman on the tour. The most interesting stop was an old speakeasy called Chumleys. The tour included lots of desserts, pizza, cheese and olives, and kabobs. We were still a little hungry at the end of the tour. The guide explained a bit about some of the architecture seen and briefly delved into the history of the Village. My only suggestion is to organize the tour either by geography, meal courses, or history. We seemed to jump around a lot. | ||||||

| Two thirds of this tour is spent in the Chelsea Market, making it less varied than the Greenwich Village tour, but still interesting in its own right. The meat packing district is sure to undergo many more changes in the near future which will further enhance the tour. | ||||||

| It was such and enjoyable tour. Our guide Mike was very knowledge and enthusiastic. It was such a pleasure to see someone so passionate about the area and the food. Not only do you get to sample a variety of foods but the history of the buildings and Greenwich Village was so interesting. Visiting Chumleys was such a bonus!!! We will definitely be spending more time in the Village after this tour. There are so many different restaurants to visit!! | ||||||

| As some of our fellow tour members said, "we could keep on going all day with this tour". Mike made it all so interesting, what a story teller!! He has so much local knowledge that the Village really came alive, and in a way you would never know it by just walking around or reading about it. He made the history personal with his own encounters, enthusiam and background. This experience gave us a feeling of really getting to know the nooks and crannies of this special area, by learning about places you might just walk by otherwise. A memorable day of exploration. And the food tasting was just as interesting and also varied and yummy. We are going back for dinner at one of the stops shortly to celebrate a birthday and maybe stop in at "#86" along the way. We're from NJ and plan to take more of these walks with you. | ||||||
