Good but long

Well, I am from Chicago and my friend and I decided to take this tour just so we can get some ideas where to eat in the Village. We had my 18 month old son with us and the tour guide was obviously not into children. The group was not that big and we really did not eat $40.00 worth of food. The places we ate at where very little. We thought we would have gotten more food to eat. The cultural part of the tour was very nice and very intresting. The tour guide Jenny was very good but the fact that she snubbed us because we where with a child was not nice. We where basically ignored and push to the back we felt because we where with a child. All and all I would say to take this tour if 1) You are not starving 2) If you do not bring children. Lori

Delicious, Fun and Informative

This was a great tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and A LOT of fun. The food tastings were great. My only criticism would be that, when we bought our tickets, we were asked about any food allergies, however, our tour guide seemed not to have been informed of our dietary issues. It wasn't a big deal though, because there was so much food available, we were able to work around it.

Best time spent in New York

Jenny, our guide was wonderful. She knew everyone and everything. She made it interesting, informative and fun! We have been on many tours in many cities this made us feel a real part of the community. Our daughter (21) attends CIA in Hyde Park New York and was delighted with the information and knowledge. This totally changed our image of " New Yorkers"; we now love the village. Vicki and Reggie Williams Robin Williams Montgomery, Al

Greenwich Cultural Tour with Some Food Added In
Sun, May 29, 05   11:00 AM KEN_RAMSAY Male 40-49 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Whilst it was felt that we had the opportunity to taste food at the beginning and end of the tour, our party would have liked it better if we had had more food halfway through as there is a fair bit of walking involved. In relation to the amount of legwork it is necessary to do, perhaps there should be more of a warning regarding this as one of our group seemed unaware of this and actually had to miss a part of the tour.

My mother & I took the Greenwich Village Tasting Tour along w/some friends of ours & we enjoyed it very much. Our tour guide Susan was very knowledgeable & it was a wonderful afternoon. Very informative, great food & we've decided to go back some day in the near future just so we can see all the shops in Greenwich Village. I would definitely recommend going if you've not gone before, but be sure to bring your best walking shoes!

My mother and I participated in the tour together. We both really enjoyed it. The food was excellent and the historical part of the tour was even better. I learned things on this tour that were not only facinating, but made me proud to be a New Yorker. Our guide, Michael was both interesting and very entertaining. I would highly recommend the event to anyone who nloves New York !

The tour guide was exceptional. I would highly recommend the tour if I knew he was leading it. His name was Michael. He was funny, quick witted, (really knew the area, gave excellent historical detail and up-to-date details of the area), great social skills- he made the tour!! Related well to everyone.

We consider ourselves "almost local". After all we're from Connecticut, aren't we? We never go to NYC as tourists - except this time we decided to take this food tour. Didn't really know what to expect, but why not? What a surprise! The tour was wonderful! Our guide was incredible! She was the perfect mix of information and comedy theater. We learned an amazing amount about where to eat, where to buy products while also learning a whole lot we didn't know about Greenwich Village and places we've passed by many times. We ate ourselves silly, laughed a lot, learned a bunch and haven't stopped talking about the tour between ourselves and to any friends who will listen. We'll definitely be back for the Chelsea tour soon.

It was so interesting learning the history of Greenich Village and how the early settlers developed their own communities. Cindy was a wonderful guide and her enthusiam about the area infected all of us. In my view the food was secondary to the information that we learned about the area. I came back to the hotel and highly recommended the tour to the concierge.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Chelsea Market and the surrounding area. The tour included a stop at a biker bar, spotting transvestite prostitutes, and quick stops into some very fine area restaurants. The tour leader was informative and colorful -- quite delightful to listen to. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone hoping to get a unique perspective into one of New York's overlooked tourist areas. It is definitely off the beaten path!

Our guide was very knowledgable and there was a nice variety to the restaurants selected. The tasting portions were perfect, lunch was definitely not needed afterwards. The historical details provided by our guide were very informative.

GREAT - EVEN FOR LOCALS
Sat, May 28, 05   10:30 AM Pantaleo Female 30-39 Local Group of Friends
THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME I HAD BEEN ON THE GREENWICH VILLAGE TOUR. I HAD ALSO BEEN ON THE CHELSEA MARKET TOUR WHICH WAS ALSO TERRIFIC BUT HAD FRIENDS COMING FROM MICHIGAN WHO HAD NEVER BEEN TO NYC AND THOUGHT THEY WOULD ENJOY THIS MORE. SECOND TIME AROUND WASN'T AS TERRIFIC FOR ME AS IT WAS FOR MY FRIENDS. GUESS I ALREADY KNEW WHAT TO EXPECT - UNLIKE THE FIRST TIME. FIRST TIME TOUR GUIDE WAS MORE KNOWLEDGABLE AND POINTED OUT MANY MORE PLACES TO VISIT. ALSO GAVE US MORE OF A CHANCE TO GO INSIDE AND LOOK AROUND OPPOSED TO SECOND TOUR GUIDE. OVERALL, THE TOUR IS GREAT. SHOWS YOU MANY NOOKS AND CRANNIES IN THE CITY YOU WOULDN'T THINK EXISTED - EVEN FOR LOCALS. TOUR GUIDE POINTS OUT RESTAURANTS YOU WOULDN'T EVEN CONSIDER AND WE EVEN WENT BACK FOR DINNER AT NIGHT - FOR THE 2ND TIME (PALMA'S - CORNELIUS STREET).
