Good food in the Village

| We are a party of 4 from Long Island, NY. We are lifelong New Yorkers but we wanted to try the food of Greenwich Village since most Long Islanders don't necessarily trek downtown. The food was very good. The merchants were hospitable. We could have done without the tour of the buildings. Maybe a small bus to drive us around would have helped in the rain. The tour guide was fun, helpful and knowledgeable. The tour started and ended on time. | ||||||

| I, my daughter, and her roommate loved the 3-hour tour of the West Village and its delectable delights. Our guide, Marie, was lots of fun and very knowledgeable about the area and told great stories about the history and the various characters who had lived in the neighborhood. The food tastings were delicious and very generous. The three of us had a wonderful experience! | ||||||

| My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our Food Tour. There was a great variety of options available, and the guide was wonderfully sensitive to the allergies present in our group. Our one criticism would be the lack of food available outside of the Chelsea Market- despite visiting a number of restaurants in the Meatpacking District, we actually only ate at 1 restaurant outside of the Market. More time spent in the area would have been great. Thank you for such a great institution! | ||||||

| I am a tour guide and generally overly critical of tours. This tour was top notch. The tour started on time. The leader was prepared and excited to do the tour. He was very warm and professional. He introduced the group to each other and knew our names right away. The visits to various locations were most informative and food was fabulous. I took this same tour two years ago and wondered if I would like it as well as the first time and it did not disappoint. Don't be on the fence with this tour, sign up. | ||||||

| I was very much looking forward to taking a tasting tour! Once my trip was cancelled I was upset that there was no opportunity for a refund. If I could have recieved a refund I would have been encouraged to take this tour next time I make my way down to NYC. | ||||||

| Thank-you Susan of Foods of NY for a great tour of Soho and Greenwich! The tastings were delicious! And the history tour of the Village was fantastic! SUSAN was fabulous!! We even came back the next night and tried Monty's for dinner and thought it was quite good. Would recommend it to friends for a fun walk around a great area -- tasting a few delights and happily learning about the ins-and outs of a cool area! | ||||||

| We've already recommended this to our friends, and even gone back to two of the 4 of the places highlighted on our tour! The Ricotta Cheesecake at Bellavitae was the best we've ever had. We bought coffee from Porto Rico Importing, Co. and have already made some in a brand new French Press! We got some noodles from Rafetto's and can't wait to make them. Overall, This was one of the highlights of our trip. We hope to take one of the other food tours when we return! | ||||||

| This is a must!!! What a great way to taste your way around Greenwich Village. The food was fabulous & Sephra, our tour guide, was the best. This is one of our favorite things we did while in New York City. | ||||||

| I can't say enough good things about this tour. Our guide was very personable and very knowledgeable and he shared a lot of the history of the area with us along the way. There was a great variety of different types of food to sample, from Indian, to Cuban, to Italian, to pastries, to cheese and sausage, to (my personal favorite) genuine New York cheesecake. This is a great way to learn some of the history of New York, as well as a great way to discover some additional restaurants that you might want to try on your own in addition to the restaurants on the tour and it's a great way to get to try things that you might never have tried otherwise. Plus, you get to see a lot of interesting sites along the way. I can't wait to go back to New York again next year and take another one of these tours. I highly recommend this! It's well worth the money and the time. | ||||||

| we met our tour guide who was from the area and knew a lot about the city and it's history - also lots of information about the green movement in New York, very cool. Ok the food. we started with a bakery which had these amazing cookies with lots of goodies in them. we spent a large portion of the time in this cute, very historic mall/food court, which was once formerly a meat packing company. we sample lots of yumming food. love the cheese and crackers at the specialty shop. the last place to eat was this old italian restuarant with a lot of history and wonderfully made home pasta. overall, I would recommend the tour if you really want to experience chelsea. | ||||||

| This tasting tour was absolutely wonderful! My mom and I spent 4 days in NYC to see the sights and this was our favorite thing we did. Our guide Kurt was so much fun. The food was yummy and the walk was nice. Thanks for a great time! | ||||||
