Foods of New York Tours

A friend gifted the tour to us as an engagement present earlier in the year, and we finally had a chance to attend. What a great gift it made! The food was delicious, the host was entertaining and accommodating, the historical knowledge gave us a fascinating new perspective. Would definitely recommend!

Our guide Marie was wonderful. She was very informed about the local dining spots as well as the history of the area. Her sense of humor was mixed in with her stories which made it so enjoyable. Oh, and the food samplings were delish. I would definitely go again. If you can get a message to Marie....please tell her that my husband is fine. Little pain in the shoulder but doing well. Tell her that we killed the walker though. She will understand

My group from WI has gone on Food of New York tours at least 8 times during our annual NY trip- all were very well done and the guides were fun, knowledgeable and enthusiastic but Annie was the best. She remembered all 16 of our names within 10 minutes of introduction and used our names through out the tour. She personalized the tour by sharing with us the differences in the area from when she lived there in the Nolita area years ago. As we stopped along the way and learned the history of the area, she made sure to find shade for us (it was 90 degrees).There was just enough unique food to fill us up but not overwhelm. This company knows how to deliver an excellent product with terrific service. The guide was wonderful - knowledgable and entertaining. The food was amazing. We will take one of their tours every time we come to NY. It was a fantastic way to spend a few hours in the city.

I attended the Chelsea Food tour with a group of friends. We had booked for the 10:30 tour but by 10:25 the guide had still not shown up. We were all waiting when someone from another group called the office and found out that there had been an emergency and the guide couldn't make it and the owner was coming down. Todd, the owner, came down and explained that the guide was unavailable and we could either get a refund or join the 11:00 tour. At this point it was already 10:45 and so we thought we might as well wait for the 11:00 tour. My only concern was how easy it would be to combine two sold out groups on a walking tour through a crowded market. Some people did elect for the refund so we were down to 11 people plus the people in the 11:00 group which made a total of 27 or 28 people in the tour. I have to say though that the guide we had, Kurt, was exceptional. He handled the increased crowd with ease, keeping everything under control. He managed to learn everyones name and kept referring to us all by name through out the tour. He organized the additional food logistics with ease and made the entire tour an absolute pleasure. Given the snafu it would have been enough if the tour was smooth and enjoyable but even with the increased numbers he made it a truly memorable affair. Kudos to Kurt, a true professional.

What a fantastic time!! We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Chelsea Market and the meatpacking district. Our guide, Curt, was knowledgeable and hilarious!! The food was delicious and I can't believe the size of the "samples" and the hospitality of the purveyors!! I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting New York or for anyone that wants to try some amazing food and be entertained! Thumbs up to YOU!

I had heard about this tour through my sister-in-law who said how fantastic it was. Every six months I go into the city with friends from work and instead of going to our usual show we decided to try this food tour. What a great choice this was! We took the Greenwich Village Tour and it was excellent right from the start. We met at the cheese shop on Bleeker Street and someone from the tour was there to greet us. Then we met our fantastic tour guide, Raheem. He was warm, friendly, funny, helpful and knowledgeable. Raheem was passionate about showing us Greenwich Village and all it's wonderful stores, mom & pop shops, restaurants, bakeries and homes. He gave us a history lesson that was interesting and he covered all bases. He took good care of us (16 in our group) and I felt perfectly safe and cared for in his hands. The three hours went fast as we stopped at eight places and each one was better than the other. I am a New Yorker and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who lives here or visitors from out of town. I want to do the other tours offered and we are already planning our fall trip. Hopefully we can get Raheem again on the next tour. I didn't expect the tour to be as good as it was and it surpassed all expectations. We want to go back to Greenwich Village and spend more time in all the highlights that Raheem showed us. He answered all questions and I felt as if I really learned about that section of New York. A great time was had by all and we were pleasantly surprised!!!

Took my wife and two teenage children on this tour. We had previously attended the Greenwich Village Tour. We enjoyed this almost as much as the Original Greenwich Village tour. There was plenty of food and our tour guide was very well informed. As a person who grew up in New York, I feel as if I am really starting to get to know this part of the City. My teenage children enjoyed the tour as well.

We had a wonderful time! All the food was outstanding, our guide Diana was very knowledgeable and made the day our best day in NYC!

My husband and I and another couple took this tour and had a wonderful experience. It was the perfect combination of food exploration and cultural exploration. Each tasting was delicious, varied and generous, and was offered along with interesting details about the origins of the food, or chef, or store or restaurant. We also learned a lot about the streets and the area we wandered through. Our guide Barri was friendly and knowledgable and passionate about her subject matter. We would definitely take your tours again and will tell our friends about it. Thank you for a great day!

Great food and tour and discounts to go back after the tour.

We were a group of 3 women travelling together to celebrate our milestone birthdays. Our guide Maria was wonderful. She was very passionate about the area and the food and gave us some history on the area and the places we visited. Would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys good food in a beautiful outdoor setting. All the places visited were really good with the cannoli from Rocco's a fantastic way to end the tour.

Our guide, Kurt, was very friendly, funny and informative. We were a group of two mums with two daughters and the tour appealed to us all. The food samples were plentiful and tasty, and we got to learn a little about the transformation the district had undergone over the past few years. The time flew by and we had a great time. I'd not hesitate to recommend the tour, and would hope to go on another when we return to New York.

My husband and i loved the tour. Our guide was very interestng and shared many facts and stories about the area and of the shops where we tried several varieties of foods... very worthwhile.....would take it again....

We have now been on four NYC food tours and this was the best! We loved Anne our guide, she was so enthusiastic and had great stories about individual people in the neighborhood, architectural history and the food selections were varied and delicious!
