Foods of New York Tours

Tour guide was excellent. Food was okay, but not quite what I expected. It might be better to either add some very high-end offerings, or make it clear that the food will be pretty basic stuff--pizza, schwarma, cheese, cannoli, etc.

I have already recomended it. It would be fun to do one whole brunch in one restaurant like 86.

I have taken the tour before, and thought it was fantastic. The second go round was just as wonderful. There were new spots added that were hidden gems, and even my traditional parents were enticed by the ethic eats offered up by some of the restaurants. Our tour guide, Jennie, was great - very upbeat with lots of stories and anecdotes about the area and the restaurants off the beaten path. Each of the tastings was excellent; nice balance of flavors/tastes. pace was good for my plump middle aged 'rents to keep up with and not feel winded. Would definately recommend to a friend - an planning to take another one of the tours soon!

I thought it was excellent. Cindy was fantastic. She had alot of energy and very knowledgable. Her relationship with the local Mom & Pop stores brought us back to a bygone era. I felt fortunate that she was our guide and I plan on attending the meat packing district tour in the future, but with a specific request for her tour. I also loved the historic side of the tour. The food was great.

My girlfriend and I thought the tour was great! Cindy (our tour guide) was fantastic, she tought us a lot about the history and arcitecture of the village. The tasting part of the tour however was lacking. We were expecting to do some tasting of restaurant menus, but that is not what we got. Instead it was more of like soem cheese here, a piece of chocolate there, as opposed to tasting what some of the restaurants in the village are famous for. For instance, little Havana sounded really interesting but we tasting nothing from that restaurant. Come to think of it, we didn't taste any food from any restaurant. We tasted from a cheese shop, a chocolate shop, and places like that. I guess if there was more food involved, it would have been a little better. But the tour was great! I am recommending it to all my friends, and I am looking forward to doing the one in the Meatpacking district!

Very interesting way of understanding an area often visited but which we knew little about until the explanations were provided. The guide was excellent. While the food tasting was great and interesting, the real focus was understanding the neighbourhood. We recommend this to anyone wanting to get a good feel for the area. It is not a tour where one wants to learn about food. The food is a mechanism to a very enjoyable walk around.

we all were absolutely thrilled by the extent of the service provided by our guide. She was knowledgeable and friendly, she remembered each our names and filled us full of yummy surprises... Have recommended it to all our friends and coworkers as soon as we came home from our trip.

I would recommend this tour to anyone intersted in New York City history or just plain food! We went back to the Village shopping and to the local pubs and had a great time! My hisband was born in Brooklyn and knows alot about New York City but he was impressed with your tour as much as I was. This was a fun tour and the only suggestion I have to improve it would be to include a five minute "sit down" rest once per hour (or stop in areas where seating is available whenever we sample food, even if only a ledge or planter). Our family found our feet extremely sore after the first hour of the tour even though we wore comfortable shoes. The bottled water is a great idea due to the heat (we had an overcast and slight rain, but still hot), but we found it insufficient since there is no time to get anything on your own. Maybe a liter size would be better or include a drink sample or place to purchase!

This tour far exceeded my expectations. Michael was an excellent tour guide, and we were delighted with the off-the beaten path nooks and crannies he showed us. He was highly informative and a great speaker. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and highly recommend it, and hope to return some day with my husband to take the tour again. This tour played a large part in making my first visit to NYC a great experience. Bravo, and thank you Michael!

The most important ingredient in the tour in my opinion was the "passion" Michael has for Greenwich Village and Manhatten in general. It was the vigor and positive feeling Michael manifested regarding the history and food of the Village that sold me. My wife and I would very much like to attend another tour and hopefully have a guide with as much enthusiasm as Michael has. He is an important asset to your tour. I highly recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in Greenwich Village East.

I would recommend this to anyone. Our guide was extremely knowledgable, friendly, and so competant. It was a perfectly enjoyable afternoon not only for the food but also the history lesson. Even coming from New Jersey, New York is always a place of discovery and re-discovery! Thanks!!!

TAKE THIS ON YOUR FIRST DAY IN TOWN! The restaurants visited are fantastic, and we went back at night to enjoy different ones. The guide was exceptional, knowledgeable, personable and superb. This tour was the top-rated NYC tour on Cityscape and we know why now. An excellent way to spend three hours in the Big Apple.

This tour was amazing. The food was fabulous, and the guide informative. I would highly recommend this to any of my family and friends...and I already have!

It was fantastic! Totally worth the money. The food was great, and our guide was awesome! She had tons of knowledge about the area, not only about the restaurants but the culture and history as well. We learned a lot and we were happily stuffed by the end of the tour!
