My mother and I had a wonderful time on the Taste of Greenwich Village Tour. Our tour guide, Bert, was enthusiastic and a joy to spend 3 hours with. The tour was the perfect amount of time. We thoroughly enjoyed every stop. We cannot wait to try another food tour of the city! |

This was my third Food of New York tour, and I have enjoyed them all. The pace seemed to satisfy everyone, the guide knew her script, and the food was delicious and not too much. |

As a lifetime New Yorker, I learned a lot about my own city, and, at the same time, enjoyed a series of tempting noshes. I know we'll be revisiting some of these eateries on our own. |

Our group of two couples participated in the Greenwich Village food tour on October 9. Our guide was Curt (or Kurt, not sure of spelling) who was absolutely hilarious. He did an amazing job learning everyone's name and used them throughout the tour. He was friendly and knowledgeable and made the tour really fun. The weather was not great, it rained on and off throughout the tour, but he was truly a ray of sunshine (I know that was totally cheesy but true). We got a ton of history about the area through the stops on the tour, and it was enough food throughout. The food was excellent, there was a good mix between sitting and standing. The walks between were fun as we got to chat with the guide and ask questions. We even ran into Whoopi Goldberg on one of our stops, so the celebrity sighting made it fun. We all agreed it was a great overview that we should have done on our first day, not our last day, in NYC. Lesson learned from us -- go on your first day so you can go back to the different places. Curt also recommended a number of other places outside the tour, so that would be fun to spend a night out in the village. I'll definitely take another tour through Foods of New York next time I'm in NYC. It was totally entertaining, great food, lots of history thrown in (that you don't really even realize) and the tour went by so fast. |

For the first time in 20 years I saw and tasted what was in chinatown. The guide was pleasant and the tour was not rushed. I left with a belly full of food and mind full of knowledge. I have already recomended this tour to several friends. |

Rajhim - not sure of spelling - (the guide) loves this topic (Chinese - history and food), made everyone enthusiastic about it, and gave us great background/historical information about the food and places/activities in the area. The food was high-quality, wonderfully tasty, and not the common Chinese dishes and condiments. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! |

food tour was good, not great. 3 hours is too long, could cut it by 1 hour.
loved all the information about the area, and people, especially the end when we looked at homes in the area, and talked about it's beginnings, but could try to make it 1 hour shorter. food was good, a taste of everything. highlight was the cannoli. marie, our tour guide, was great and full of information. |

The Chelsea Market Food Tour exceeded our expectations! My girlfried and I are from Alberta Canada and had heard about this tour from friends--- we were not disappointed! Bob was our tour guide and really did a wonderful job informing us about the history of the meatpacking district. The food places in the market (the old Nabisco factory building) were expecting us and had trays of their specialties ready for us to sample---- some served at a private table in the back. Bob also prepared us for each shop with a history of the owners and their stellar reputation in NY. Toward the end of the tour we left the building walked to Macelleria---- a former meat locker-- and enjoyed some restaurant fare together. After that we went up on the High Line and learned its history. Bob went over the 3 hour tour by almost half an hour and pointed out several fashion designers stores in the area. So, to sum up: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AND NOT TO BE MISSED!
P.S. We didn't feel the need for any lunch after the tour, and went back to several stores to pick up some unique products to take home. Excellent value!! :) |

What a great time! After it was over, all we talked about was doing more tours in different neighborhoods. Our Tour guide Keri was excellent. Don't hesitate... GO! |

It was cold and rainy, but it didn't matter, because Bert the Tour Guide was fantastic and the food delicious. Bert checked us in, offered each of us a bottle of water and free rain ponchos. Bert took us to over half a dozen Greenwich food establishments to taste samplings of Italian pizza slices; zucchini-topped pizza bread; olive oil and truffle-topped appetizers; yummy, hot-out-of-the-oven cookies, and many other mouth-watering edibles. He was very knowledgeable about the food, explaining everything in detail plus more. Along the walking tour, he even went over the history of the buildings built in the 1800's and how they evolved over time. There wasn't a single question asked that he couldn't answer. Excellent tour guide with a quick wit and great sense of humor; had us laughing throughout the tour. This was my first food tour ever - loved trying all the different foods offered; everything was tasty and definitely filled me up. I would absolutely recommend this walking food tour and Bert! |

On a recent trip to New York my daughter and I decided to try the Greenwich Village Food Tour. Our tour guide, Burt, did a fabulous job! Our tour made eight food stops within about a three hour period. Burt was very knowledgeable about every stop- the owners, their products, etc. We tried pizza, cheese, cookies, and several other great food items. In addition to the sampling Burt took us down a couple of local streets and gave us a lot of history about the area itself. It was a great afternoon and was something different that the usual tourist spots. I would highly recommend the tour and Burt- they both were great! |
