| I love eating sushi but always wondered about its history and how to correctly eat it. This course was not only delicious, but taught me a wealth of knowledge about the true, pure origins and preparation of sushi. I wouldn't call myself a sushi "snob" as a result of this session, but I would say that I definitely now know a lot more about quality sushi than my peers!! |

| I was a little skeptical about paying so much for a food tour--especially since I had never been on one and wasn't sure what to expect. However, my date and I had a wonderful time and the tour exceeded both our expectations.
The food was excellent and our guide Rashim was extremely knowledgeable about the food and culture. Also, the waitresses at the restaurant were very prompt and attentive in keeping up with the tour. I took a new liking to some foods that I had been wary about before, and it has changed the way I view Japanese cuisine. The one order of alcohol (1 beer and 2 carafes) was plenty for the two of us to taste and share. I don't think we could have drank more! But I also found that some people who wanted to order more drinks could, and that it was just added to their tab so they could pay at the end of the tour.
I highly recommend this tour to others and look forward to trying out some of the others FoodTours has to offer! |

| Thought he provided too much information. Would rather he told less and made it simpler. He also didn't give anybody at the table a chance to talk to each other. Felt more like a lecture. |

| You will enjoy this and learn even if you've loved sushi for quite some time, like me. The host is very enthusiastic and a walking wikipedia of sushi and Japanese cuisine knowledge (although not actually of Japanese origin, interestingly).
The food and drinks are good, but i would think of it more as lesson material and less as of a kind of dinner one might order at a restaurant. The host will walk you through a large number of different dishes prepared in very different ways and he will probably change a few preconcieved notions in the process. |

| Perfect for individuals who are open to trying new things. You get a variety of menu items that you may not have chosen yourself if you were to go on an average dinner date. The average customer selections that were chosen for this event were of higher quality than most sushi restuarants that we have ventured to. Along with the knowledge of our host, this event was a perfect start to an evening of fun. We would highly recommended adding the beverage sampling to the meal as well. The choice of Japanese beer and cold and warm Sakis were a perfect match to the selections of food. |

| This is my 3rd tour in New York with your group and, as always, it was excellent! The food was delicious, the restaurant had the perfect atmosphere for the event, and our guide was outstanding! I can't wait to come back for another! |

| I strongly recommend this tour for those of all ages and backgrounds. Our tour guide Raheem was extremely knowledgeable on Japanese traditional foods, and this event was quite an experience! I would not recommend this event to those who are un- accepting of different flavors. If you enjoy expanding your palette and mind, this tour is for you! Great for couples, friends, or those who want to go solo. Because the entire event took place at one destination, there wasn't any walking involved, so we really got to focus on one establishment and it's strong points.
I strongly recommend this tour to Japanese and Sushi lovers, it will change the way you think about sushi, and even 'sushi experts' will walk out of this with a newfound knowledge and appreciation for the way the Japanese do fish. |

| My husband and I booked The Art of Sushi for our final night in NYC after being there for a week. My husband is a chef and a true "foodie". We both found the night both delicious and very entertaining and enlightening. We learned a lot and would highly recommend this event to anyone who loves to experience dinner not just eat it. |

| First off, the food was fantastic. The menu was chosen well, and covered a broad rage of textures and tastes. Even the more seemingly mundane dishes (like chicken or tofu) were elevated by some masterful cooking. I've never been partial to raw squid, and this was the first time I encountered raw squid I would happily reorder, now that I know how it can and should taste like in the hands of experts.
You do get a fair amount of food to, so come hungry...
Our host Raheem was delightful (and knowledgeable); and his enthusiasm and passion for food certainly added to the experience.
It may not seem like the essential NY experience... but I did not regret choosing to spare some of my precious 'touristy' time for this. I would probably have gone back for more had I the time. |
