I strongly recommend this dinner to anyone. I do not eat fish or sushi and know nothing about Japanese food, but decided to broaden my horizons because my boyfriend is a Japanese food lover. I thought the food was fantastic, and my boyfriend who used to live in Japan thought the same. He also commented that it was very authentic. The meal was the full experience, and the presentation great. Our host was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all kinds of questions. He knew exactly what he was talking about and you could tell he was very passionate about it. This kind of dinner is a fantastic experience for anyone.

We loved the food, and the amount of information we received on the preparation, culture, ingredients and more made the experience all that much better. Our host Raheem was incredible. I would suggest this to anybody who wants a good time.

Unique Experience

Not knowing what to expect, it superseded any expectations i did have. I have never done anything like that. You think you are just going to taste different kinds of sushi and sake, but it was way more than that. I learned so much and now have a new appreciation for sushi and its history. Our host was amazing. He was fun and very very knowledgeable beyond what he needed to be. He made it fun and light so it wasn't intimidating at all to anyone who was at the table. I would highly recommend this to everyone and anyone who wants a unique, fun, and educational experience.

The quality of the sushi was quite good and the experience is great for those who like to try different types of sushi. The courses flow nicely and the Red Bean Ice Cream at the end is to die for. I recommend this for anyone who wants to have a complete sushi experience!

Informational and Educational!

This is a great event and you learn a lot about Sushi and Japanese cusine. I had a wonderful date so I may be bias in my experience. The food was delicious! Only problems... the presenter seemed to be rushing thru his presentation. The soup which was one of the six courses was cold (everthing else was served and presented properly). The room was a little small and you are sharing the experience with other couples/families. If you are looking for a romatic experience, this is not the event.

I got this as a gift for my boyfriend and it exceeded all of our expectations! The food was not only incredible, it was also quite varied, and Raheem really knew his stuff. It was a unique experience and so much fun for both of us. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Date of event: Saturday, 24 Jan 09 I'm sure I'll only retain a tiny fraction of what we learned as we ate our way through several courses of Japanese fare. The host, Raheem, was a wealth of knowledge about preparation, customs, tastes, history, and trends in this cuisine, all delivered with a high level of enthusiasm and delight to be sharing with us. The only negative aspect of our experience was the unfortunate attendance by a woman and her two adult daughters, all of whom chattered away like magpies, rudely ignoring the host and making it hard for the rest of us to hear what he was saying. Amazingly, he maintained his good humor throughout, never once speaking harshly to them (I wouldn't have been able to restrain myself), but instead directing his voice more toward the rest of us who were listening. A unique tour/dinner...highly recommended.

Fantastic Sushi Experience!!!

From start to finish our Sushi Experience was excellant. The presentation of the sushi and the description and history provided were just right. Our host was knowledgable and gave many "real life' examples. There was pleanty of food. I'm a 220 pound guy and it satisfied my needs. One question on your web site --- Information provided during the dinner taught us that sushi (typical fish on rice) was meant to be eaten with your fingers, however, the picture on the Foods of New York web site shows chop sticks. Probably just to please the Western culture?????
