Foods of New York Tours

I purchased tickets for my husband and myself based on the recommendation of a friend--whose friend had done it. Thus, I was expecting a pleasant afternoon with my husband walking and stopping for nibbles. Our experience far surpassed my expectation! First, our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the Central Village and Soho, and the tales he had to tell were most entertaining and informative. Second, the FOOD...OMG! The bolognese...the cheesecake...the empanadas and yucca...the tortellini...the smoked mozzarella and sundried tomatoes (the best sundried we have ever eaten)...the chocolate walnut tart. YIKES! Not only were we full; we also felt like the quality of the food we had was far superior to what we had expected. We have already discussed returning to three of the restaurants when we can for full meals (and we are "foodies," so if the food had not been fantastic, we would have chalked the afternoon up to a good walk through a portion of Manhattan we love). Just one suggestion: PLEASE expand your tours to include Arthur Ave in the Bronx and Williamsburg in Brooklyn. I'd be happy to sign up for both!

It was very interesting but the guide was a bit boring and the group as a whole was not much fun! The Food was great and the information about the area very informative.

Although there is some good food on this tour, the history and culture of greenwich village that was imparted was much more valuable. We enjoyed it thoroughly and look forward to visiting the village again soon!

Our guide, Ed, was knowledgeable and fun. The background information was punctuated by food stops along the way. Highly recommended.

My family was visiting NYC for the first time and after several days of "classic" tourist activities, I booked all of us for the Central Village/ Soho Walking Tour. It was a highlight of their trip. They all felt that they got a much more authentic and interesting taste of NYC than any of the other sites they waited in line for. Our guide, Rashim, was entertaining and full of fun trivia. The food was delicious and the history of the village fascinating. Plus, walking through the village mid-day we had many NYC characters milling about from dogs dressed in clothes to random know-it-alls that wanted to add their own impromptu tidbits to Rashim's tour. To me, all of those layers are part of what makes the city so unique and special. I have lived in the city for 6 years and it is also one of my favorite activities I've done to date. "Did you know..." has peppered my conversations with all of my "local" friends and clients since the tour. I have also been restaurant recommender extraordinaire since the tour sending friends to various fun spots and romantic spots that we toured through. I highly recommend this tour to visitors and locals alike and can't wait for more company to take on another one soon.

Very interesting and unique. We got a glimpse of Greenwich Village we would never have gotten otherwise. Many great reccomendations on places to eat. I wish we had done this at the beginning of our trip so we could have come back to the restaurants. We had a very enthusiastic tour guide who did a lovely job. We had good food, as well. Will reccomend it to others.

In addition to giving us a taste of the best Village food shops, this tour provided a nice overview of the history of the area. We saw unique buildings, hidden courtyards, and learned about various architectural details that define a building's age. Not only did we learn where to get the best pizza, rice balls, canolli, and chocolate chip cookies, our guide told us each shop's history and what made it the best. The tour was nicely paced with good breaks between indulgences.

Our guide was Bert. He was excellent!!! We want to come back later in the year and do the Greenwich Village tour and we will be asking for Bert! The tour & restaurants were excellent as well but ultimately, you have to have a good guide to keep things interesting & have knowledge to be able to offer historical information. Not just any history, but interesting history.

Cindy was our guide and she was FANTASTIC!!!! Despite the frigid temperature none of us even felt uncomfortable. I can't wait to have my family and friends who visit me here take this tour!!!!

An excellent introduction to Chelsea Market and the meatpacking area for those who did not know of its existance before going on the tour.

Two Irish pals visiting New York - loved the tour, the food and the scenery. The tour guide was wonderful - different cultures were hilarious (two very loud New Yorkers on the tour) - highly recommended!
