I felt it was time well spent. Very interesting history of the Greenwich Village area and it's current businesses. Our tour guide (female) was very well informed and enjoyed teaching the group on all aspects of the village eg, building designs and construction, history of buildings, street layouts ect.
The food tasting at various restaurant's was much enjoyed and left the experience satisfied and full. A great way to spend three hours being educated, fed and get your exercise also.

The Chelsea Market/Meatpacking Tour was absolutely wonderful. Cindy, our guide, was friendly, upbeat, and very knowledgable about the area. If I had not taken this tour, I would never have learned about Chelsea Market and all the treasures it holds. From an amazing bakery filled with fresh-baked bread, to an authentic Italian marketplace, to a fresher-than-fresh fish market, it has something for everyone. The actual food samples we got to taste were generous and delicious.
I would highly recommend this activity to anyone looking for new and not-so-well known places in the city to explore. It was virtually empty. It certainly is a great way to spend 3 hours. |

It was great. We learned a lot about the old Hi-Line railroad, the Chelsea Market building, and the Meat Packing area. The guide was helpful and very knowledgeable. Tasting the delicious foods from the various market purveyors was a wonderful way to learn about new shops in the market and encouraged us to come back another time to avail ourselves of the bounty that was available. A wonderful wayto spend part of a Saturday! |

I would highly recommended this tour. Our guide Rebecca was very informative and professional. The tour included a nice variety of history, current eateries, food tasting, local establishments and very informative information about the Village. The tour was definitely very good, bordering on excellent. |

Our guide, Mike, was informative, fun, and innovative, making this a worthwhile walking and tasting tour. Having a group of only 16 people was a major plus as we could all get up close to our guide to hear his descriptions of the area, and his humor.
Those that are appreciative of early NYC history and architecture should consider taking this tour of the Village as it does not focus on food alone. The thin crust pizza from John's was excellent. However, a full-size slize should have been offered instead of narrow pieces. Although the wine tasting was included, one would have to go to SoHo to take advantage of that part of the tour.
Instead of the group just breaking-up, the tour could have ended by the group sitting down at one of the old taverns where wine and cheese, (from Murray's) could have been sampled by all which would have been a fun, and memorable finale.
Overall, we highly recommend this tour of the Village. |

I often go into NYC for dinner, theater, museums. However, these are very quick day/evening trips. This tour gave me the opportunity to slow down and concentrate on exploring one area of the city in a little more detail. Andre, our guide, was wonderful. Loved tasting the culture of the village too! Nice array of ethnic foods. Can't wait to go on another one of your tours! |

I would highly recommend it. The tour gave us a great overview of the foods of NY and also introduced us to foods I normally wouldn't have eaten. We ended up going back down to the village for Turkish Kabobs for dinner one night, and went back twice for the pastries from the Italian bakeries. Andre our guide, was friendly and courteous and a real pleasure. Thanks Andre! |

The 1st hour was pretty boring, since it was mostly our tour guide explaining to us the restaurants on Cornelia St. True, they are all nice restaurants, but standing outside listening about them didn't do much for me, and I don't think the other people there cared much either. Otherwise the tour was good. I liked going into the food service shops (e.g. the Italian bakeries, the chocolate shop, Murray's Cheese shop) and strolling through the quiet Village streets. However, I wish there had been more information about specific historical events/moments from the area, since it seems rich in history. The tour was, largely, a hodgepodge of information, which although nice at times, was sometimes frustrating. All in all, I'd rate the entire tour a 7 1/2 out of 10. |

Fascinating tour, great guide. I would highly recommend this. The time flew by, the food we tried was delicious and varied (and there was plenty of it), and I learned a lot about an area of New York City that was unfamiliar to me. I was even telling people about this on the plane home, and encouraging them to take this tour the next time they travel to NYC. The map and restaurant listings that were handed out to tour participants were very easy-to-read, and helpful.
