We signed up for this tour on the recommendation of friends that had taken it. Our children aged 16,15 & 12 were not so keen on the idea...but soon into it they were fascinated with the history of the area, cultural influences and delicious food. Our guide was very colourful and animated and full of knowledge and great stories.
I would recommend this tour. |

We took the tour after a recommendation from 2 friends who took it. They had highly recommended it and we would too. A great mixture of local history and wonderful food. Tour guide was also hilarious! We felt like locals when we went to eat in Greenwich after the tour. Definitely one of the highlights of the trip |

This was our second time on the GW food tour (first tour was 2003), though much was a repeat, it was still alot of fun and we found some great new restaurants to try. I highly recommend it to any NY visitors. |

The tour was something nice to do for people who like to learn about another area of New York City. The food that was choosen was not too bad either. Wish their were more bathroom breaks however. |

Tour guide was knowledgeable, energetic, and fun! The tastings were better than we'd hoped and the quantity of food was more than we expected. Had we taken a different tour, we would have been dealing with rain constantly. On this tour, however, all the tastings were indoors! We did leave Chelsea Market in order to see the Meat Packing District, but by then it was only sprinkling.
This food tour made us feel like we experienced something really special about New York. Highly recommended. |

The walking tour is a great introduction to Chelsea Market. We learned the history of the building which was originally the Nabisco Factory and that was very interesting. Our guide took us to the back of the shops and restaurants to places we would never have gone on our own. We sampled the best items in the market from chocolate milk and chocolate croissants to cheese, olives and salami. I really enjoyed the history of the people who work in and own the shops. We went back in the cooler at the Lobster Market and tasted exotic flavored salt and chocolate caramels the Chelsea Basket Market.
The tour of the packing district was brief but very interesting, especially the trains that took the workers right into the factories. I would recommend the tour to people of all ages. |

What a great time! It was definitely one of my highlights. If you enjoy food and history this is the tour for you. It was a great selection of snacks to try. I went at 11:30am and didn't need to have lunch at all! Our guide, Mike, was awesome, he shared interesting stories about the restaurants, the food, and the neighbourhood. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED |

The Greenwich Village Food Tasting and Cultural Tour was recommended to me by friends who enjoyed it thoroughly.
They were not wrong. I found the afternoon to be highly informative about the history of Greenwich Village, as well as the many restaraunts and food stores found there.
Our tour guide, Michael, was extremely knowledgable and friendly and gave not only great insight to the foods we sampled but also the history of the Village. It was not uncommon to have people from the area stop him and say hello and tell us how lucky we were to have him as our guide, and they were right.
I found his personal narrative of living in the area and the history of the places, people and events fascinating and enjoyable.
My only regret was that I had not take the tour sooner, so I could go back to the many places we visited and sample more of the wonderful food and menus of the Greenwich Village area. I will be sure on my next trip to New York City to bring my guide from the tour and take advantage of the wonderful array of food and stores.
Since taking the tour, I have spoken to other tourists and New Yorkers and told them how wonderful my experience was and that I would suggest they take the time to attend the tour themselves.
Thank you for providing such a lovely day in The Village and a BIG thank you to Michael for being such a fun and informative guide.

This was by far the most fun and informative tour. The food provided was in large portions and excellent!!!! Our tour guide, Michael, was so full of knowledge. He has lived in Greenwich Village for 20+ years and offered so much actual insight, way beyond what any book or magazine could provide. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Greenwich Village and who has interest in learning about this area of NY. |

This tour was recommended by a friend who had done it last fall, and the rec was right on point. The food was fabulous, the tour guide (Michael) was witty and insightful and definitely had a feel for history and the modern personalities in the neighborhood. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone interested in food, or anyone just looking to unlock a few secrets of the Village. |

The Greenwich Village tour was a food lovers delight. It was very well done Including the details such as providing water and pointing out restrooms. The tastings were delicious, varied and abundant. The tour guide was knowledgeable about food and restaurants as well as the hidden places and history of Greenwich Village. We visited some areas that I did not know existed. and I grew up in N. Y.. We have never taken a tour when we return to N.Y. but are very glad we did this time. It was a perfect way to enjoy the Village. Thanks for a great afternoon. |
