WE HAD A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. CINDY WAS OUR GUIDE AND WE WILL BE REQUESTING HER AGAIN WHEN WE TAKE FUTURE TOURS. THE FOOD WAS EXCEPTIONAL AND WE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED LEARNING THE LOCAL HISTORY. WE LOOK FORWARD TO TAKING THE SOHO TOUR. THANK YOU.

A great introduction to Greenwich Village

It's hard to imagine anyone not being satisfied with the amount of food on this tour. In three hours, we had a small slice of pizza, a cannoli, a deep-fried rice/cheese/meat ball or 3 fried raviolis (vegetarian option), chocolate chip cookie, cheese with bread and olives, beer (not included), half an apricot tart, and a falafel (not necessarily in that order and I may be forgetting something). There's lots of history, so if you don't like listening to that sort of thing, you might not enjoy this tour. You also get a list of recommended restaurants with a map so you can go back and dine on your own. As first-time visitors to NYC, we saw several places that we probably would not have found on our own. Great tour at a reasonable price. Bring an extra bottle of water -- they only give you one.

I thought the tour was absolutely great. Not only did we get a sample of food, but we got the history behind each place. I currently live in NY, and I learned a lot. I would recommend this to anyone! Great job.

I LOVED IT AND THE TOUR GUIDE WAS WONDERFUL. THE FOODS WERE VARIED AND DELICIOUS. THE HISTORY OF THE AREA AND THE EXPLANATIONS OF THE FOODS ON HOW IT BECAME A HIT TODAY WAS INCREDULOUS. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AND I WOULD LOVE TO GO BACK AGAIN SOON.

It was a great way to spend the afternoon. The guide was informative ,there was a nice variety of food and we really liked the history and architectural information. It was very good the way she always stopped to talk to the group instead of walking and talking the way ,some guides do, that way everyone could hear what she was saying. We would definitely recommend the tour, as it was to us!

Greenwich is so loaded with history that you have to love the place. A stroll through the village along with the accompaniment of great food and terrific info is a great way to spend a morning or an afternoon. Not only do you learn about cultural foods (if you're a meat and potato only lover), but you learn about the architecture and the people who made Greenwich Village what it is today. Top Notch. Our Tour Hostess, Barri, was knowledgeable and kept us on pace. Go for it!!!

Interesting

Our tour of Chelsea Market/Meatpacking district was interesting and fun. Our tour guide, Curt, was funny, enthusiastic and informative. Everything seemed to run like clockwork. The transition from one tour/tasting to another was smooth. I enjoyed the Chelsea Market better then the meatpacking part of the tour. The Chelsea tour had food tasting as well as history of the stores and building. The Meatpacking only included the history of the area. It would have been nice to have at least one meat, or some other kind of tasting at the end. The end was a little anti-climatic. I would recommend this tour to others.

Great tour, terrific guide

Having done the Greenwich tour last Spring and enjoyed it, we decided to try the Chelsea tour. We were not disappointed! In addition to seeing an area of NYC from a native's view, the food is great and we again took away restaurant recommendations that we will use in coming visits. Can't say enough about Curt. He was an outstanding guide: funny, informative, concerned. The perfect "host" and group leader. Our only regret is that there are only two tours and now we've done them both. Add some new venues: we'll be there next Spring!

I took the tour with 7 friends and Curt as our guide. The 3 hours went quickly. We all enjoyed the many fascinating historical facts provided about Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District, in addition to Curt's fun presentation of those facts. We found out how Oreo's were named! The tastings were delicious and plentiful, including an unexpected salt tasting. The chocolate almond croissants and coffee milk are to die for! I would definitely recommend this tour, and am planning to take the Greenwich Village as well.

We all really enjoyed the tour. Our guide Amy was fantastic. We learned alot about the Village and tasted some unique foods. We went back the next day to take some of the treats home with us. I really enjoyed seeing the secret gardens and learning about the history of some of the buildings. I would suggest this tour to anyone visiting NYC.

We had a great afternoon with Kurt. It was fun, and included phenomenal food. The character of the neighborhood was created for us. The only negative that I have was that MacCallister the restaurant was recommended to us. We had a horrible dining experience there and would recommend that you focus on other good restaurants in the area rather than that one. Thanks for a great experience and next trip we will be doing Greenwich Village.

Since 5 of the other members didn't show, I ended up getting a "private" tour. Michael, my tour guide, was very informative about the history of Greenwich Village and the foods of the Village. I was disappointed my boyfriend couldn't join me in the fun but next time around, he'll be there! I received so many awesome recommendations on where to eat -- unfortunately, I was staying on the other side of town and was leaving a few days later so I wasn't able to try them - NEXT TRIP!!! I had a great time with some great food! Thanks!!

My sister and I took the Greenwich Village tour on Friday, March 31 and LOVED it! Barri was our tour guide and was very knowledgable about the area - the neighborhoods, restaurants, food shops, etc. She gave us lots of historical and architectural information while keeping the tour moving and fun. The food was DELICIOUS and we were stuffed at the end (and I am 20 weeks pregnant so that's saying something :) ). I would highly recommend the tour to anyone, local or tourist. I recommend the tour during the early part of your stay so you have time to revisit some of the tour stops. We'll definately visit some of the establishments during future trips and would most likely do the tour again!
