The greenwich food tour was the highlight of our trip to new york. My group of friends and I had all been to New York quite a few times, so we had done all the touristy sites on our previous visits, and was looking for something else to do. The food tour showed us the Village area and introduced us to locations we would never have tried and gave us a great history tour of the area. Throughout the rest of our trip, we went back to the recommended locations and tried their food which definitely lived up to expectations. |

I spent 5 days in NYC and this was one of the most memorable highlights of my trip. Fun, informative and replete with good food and laughter, I enjoyed every moment of the tour. |

Our guide was enthusiastic and very well informed about the village. We saw and were told about places we would never had seen on our own. Food was great, too! If we had had time we wold have gone back and spent the evening going to some of the places we were told about. |

I have been visiting friends in New York at least once a year for the past 10 years, so I have seen all the major tourist attractions and been all over the city. I was interested in something different so I tried the Food Tour in Greenwich Village and learned a lot of history and discovered new favorite places to eat. I went on a weekday, so I was a part of of small group of 8 which made the tour even better. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone! |

This tour was great! From the minute we entered Rocco's, the guide (Barri) was most helpful, pleasant and knowledgable of the area. The three hour tour went by so quickly. We tasted so many different types of foods from pizza to rice balls to some tasty cheeses from the famous Murray's. There was a great variety of foods to sample on the tour. The Italian pastries were superb. We now know which restaurant (Palma) we want to revisit on our next trip into Manhattan. We especially enjoyed the historical and architectual explanation of the area- (and we are New Yorkers). |

Three men aged 74, 41 & 7 embarked on a food tour of the west village. Michael was our tour guide who was a wealth of information about the village and NYC. I, being a former NYer and of Italian descent food is of great importance to us and the tour didn't dissapoint. From sliced pizza, canolis, olives & cheeses, bread, cookies to turkish doner kebabs it offered a wide variety of treats. I would recommend this tour. |

We loved the tour! The food was varied, and there were several items (eg. rice balls, canoli) that we had not tried before but enjoyed immensely.
I particularly loved the local history of the neighbourhood. Michael drew our attention to many of the seventeenth century details of the streetscape and we were able to identify many features we had noticed on our walks through this neighbourhood.
The social history of the village was delivered with great spirit and we were left with very vivid images of past inhabitants of Greenwich.
We also used the reccommendations for the local restaurants and shops over the next few days. We made Rocco's the destination for our coffee breaks, enjoyed a delicious (and affordable) dinner at Pesce Pasta, and made a quick stop at Murray's Cheese Shop for a baguette, cheese and olives before we left for the airport.
We were impressed with the warmth with which Michael was greeted on the streets and how he shared a very intimate view of his neighbourhood with the tour participants.
We shall return to New York and Greenwich. Next time the Chelsea tour! |

My wife and I are New Yorkers who have been living in Florida for the past 20 years. We knew the Village a little bit when we lived here; I wish we had the opportunity to take a tour like this then. It was a terrific introduction to the area and its eating places. We would do it again. |

We had a fantastic tour lead by Mike, who walked us around to fabulous little places all around Greenwich Village. The food was excellent, and even our "strict" vegetarian (i.e. picky eater) teenagers enjoyed the samples. The tour had just the right mix of local history, American history, Art, Music, movement...and lots of humor. We've been on a number of walking tours, and it is always a treat to meet a guide who likes people as much as s/he loves the history of the place. Thank you, Mike!
Sincerely;
Deb& Don

The tour was set at a relaxed pace, and the tour guide was not only informative but funny as well. I've already shared some of the stories I learned with the rest of my group who couldn't attend. The food samples were delicious and provided just the right break after walking. I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about Greenwich Village. Well worth the ticket price! |

Our guide Kurt provided an interesting and well organised view of Greenwich village life. There were fascinating snippets of history combined with present day best places to eat and drink. An entertaining discovery of places you would otherwise miss. The tour lasted 3.5 hours and was well worth it with a good variety of foods to taste along the way. |

Well I would have to say , "I'll be back for more", and if Julia Childs was still a live, I'd bring her with me.
My tour guide, Kurt , gets an A+, thumbs-up, a blue ribbon, academy award, a hug, and a THANK YOU for his energy, knowledge, sense of humor, and wittiness.

I've travel quite extensively, and have been on many, many excellent tours. However, I must say that this tour was the most enjoyable one I've ever taken. My husband and 9-year old son agree. The guide, Curt, was not only informative, but also extremely entertaining. He radiated enthusiasm, and demonstrated genuine interest and concern in others. He was OUTSTANDING, and took us to out-of-the-way places one might miss if venturing out on their own. |

Cindy our guide was very funny and she gave the whole group such inside information about Chelsea Market and its history. She added a New York Flair that was very enjoyable. This was my husband's first trip to my hometown, Cindy's information gave him insight about New York that he fell in love with. He enjoyed the food and just the freshness that the market provided. We wished we had more time to stay in Chelsea but we had an appointment to go to immediately after the tour was over. Next time we are going to bring an extra suitcase to lug home the treasures we found. It provided a great time and wonderful food to try. Thanks! |
