Knowledgable Guide and good food finds

Great tour for both locals and out-of-towner. I'm from the area and after this tour discovered so many more places to eat and purchase food. It was great. The tour guide was very knowledgable with the history of the neighborhood and gave good opinions about the places. I can't wait to go on the chelsea tour.

Chelsea Marketplace is an awesome place for a foodie. However, the tour would have been even more interesting if we could have visited more places outside of the marketplace and sampled foods from some of the establishments in the neighborhood.

Wonderful way to see so much in little time

What a wonderful tour! The combination of the food and the history of the "The Village" was truly the best way to see such a wonderful part of town! There is so much to learn, but in the 3 hours, we walked away with a true sense of all that it has to offer. We only with we had more time to spend there! Thank you for giving us a special insight on one of New York's best hidden spots! And of course the food was all to die for!

Smart Mouth and Rude leader

Wendy tried to be funny, unfortunately it was often at the expense of those of us in the crowd. Her comments were inappropriate at times and I would not recommend her. She was constantly nagging the group to get closer. It felt like she was herding sheep. The food was good, but for the money, you could go to the Chelsea market and buy everything offered and more.

Do the Greenwich Village tour instead...
Sat, Mar 18, 06   11:00 AM baby24 Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Other
We were expecting this to be great after the wonderful Greenwich village tour. Chelsea Market is smaller than I expected, and we didn't really get much more out of the tour than what we viewed for ourselves when we arrived early. But definitely go on the Greenwich Village tour - great history, insight into the area and buildings and wonderful tastings!

This was the second time my wife and I have taken this tour, and we enjoyed it just as much the second time as the first. The guides are friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about Greenwich Village. The food samples cover a wide range, from classic NY pizza to bread, cheeses, candy, and middle-eastern food. Lots of history is also mixed in with the tour, along with recommendations for the various restaurants and clubs in the Village. Todd, who I think owns the tour, was also a great help. We got there late due to getting caught in the St. Patrick's Day parade rush. We called the phone number listed on the receipt as we exited the subway, and he met us at the corner and took us to the restaurants missed at the beginning of the tour. He then took us to the group and we continued with the tour without missing anything. That is what customer service is about. If you want to see Greenwich Village and learn its history and its food, do not miss this tour. It will be one of the highlights of your NY visit.

I enjoyed the tour...a bit of history off the beaten path! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and humorous. This is especially good if you have been to Manhattan before and are looking for something different.

My 13 year old granddaughter and I very much enjoyed the food tour. She loved the history involved in touring the literary speakeasy along with all of the stories involved with the other buildings we saw. The food was enjoyable, but certainly secondary to everything that we learned.

I Highly Recommend the Food Tasting Tour

The tour of Greenwich Village was great. You learn a lot about the area and get to know all of the good places to eat. We were provided plenty of food- definitely enough for lunch- and we got to see the apartment building from "friends." The best part was probably going into a "speak easy" that invented the phrase: "86 it" There is no possibly way we would have seen this place if it wasn't for the tour because it is not marked or advertised at all- it just looks like every other building. The information and the food were fabulous! If you are in visiting the city or if you are a local, take this tour to learn a lot and eat delicious food!

Impressed my 19-yr old daughter

My daughter and I truly enjoyed the information and tastings in Greenwich Village. The historical information gave us a great insight into the area. Without the tour, walking through the village would have been like walking down another street.
