Foods of New York Tours

I think the tour was great. It was a wonderful learning experience witha knowledgeable guide who know not only the neighborhood, but the people in the neighborhood. The food was great and I plan to use the restaurants and storeswhen I am in NYC as well as use any mail order available.

Other than it being too cold out (in the 20s) we had a great time. Later in the weekend, we even went to one of the spots recommended for dinner - Pesca Pasta; plus oysters for appetizers at Fish. The best part is we saw places we never noticed before and learned a few cool facts. All good!

I booked this tour for an out of the ordinary valentine's day gift and talked another couple into joining us. It was a big hit. Now all four of us are planning to do the other tours together on a regular basis. We absolutely loved the experience. Cindy was lots of fun and incredibly knowledgeable. We never would have noticed most of what we saw at the Chelsea Market or appreciated the building without Cindy. The tastings were delicious and we returned after the tour and bought lots of great food for dinner. We will definitely be returning there to eat and shop. Learning about the restaurants, architecture, history etc. of the meat market was also very interesting. It turned out to be a great choice of a tour because it was extremely cold and most of it took place indoors. I highly recommend this experience to all of you New Yorkers out there who don't realize how much you are missing out learning about . Become a tourist in your own city and eat while you learn!

KirK made the whole experience wonderful. He has high energy, funny jokes, lots of great knowledge, wonderful character.....terrific time was had by all in our group (ages 16 - 49)....both male and female. Good food. He really knows his stuff. He really knows the neighborhood and the restaurant people. We felt very much at home in the stores and shops with him telling us lots of good things. Loved the LIST he provided....that is so helpful to continue to support the places. Enjoyed all his stories and bits of trvia. We LOVED IT. KEEP HIM! Its was FUN!

It was amazingly enjoyable. We had a very informative guide that was full of laughes. The food was great too. This was by far one of the best memories from our visit to New York. Thanks.

The walking food tour was excellent. Our guide was funny, entertaining and very informative. The tour provides a great overview of the wonderful gourmet shops and restaurants in the West Village. Added bonus was the historical and architectural walk through the neighborhood which gives you an insight to living in this wonderful neighborhood. Highly recommended.

This was a fascinating experience. We did not realize that this area was thriving with so much history and great food. Cindy, our tour guide, was very knowledgable and had a great personality which made and made it an enjoyable experience.

My wife and I really enjyed this tour, which was recommended by a friend. The food was excellent, and learning the history of the area was even better. Our guide had a great personality and took us for a tour of the area, even talking a couple friends into letting us see their restaurants and in one case, Bed and Breakfast. We got to New York every two years and it was the first time we ever tried this...we will be taking another tour next time. Doug from Omaha

I strongly recommend the trip to anybody who wants to improve the knowledge about presumably ordinary looking districts of NY. Excellent food, good story-telling, fine atmosphere created by KURT- it was fantastic experience and thank you for it!

Our group leader Cindy was wonderful. This was my second year, second tour with her, and it was as great as last year. She is so friendly, witty and very knowledgeable about the area. The experience of the neighborhood, the people and the food is so much better on a walk-and-eat-tour. I highly recommend this for everyone.

After accidentally finding the Food Tours website, I decided that my mom and I would enjoy the Greenwich tour. I was right. Despite the weather not cooperating completely (a little bit of rain and a LOT of wind), we had an awesome time. Cindy was great! You can tell she absolutely loves doing these tours. Lots of great information and food. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, and in fact recommended it to my cousin who is a local!

This is the second time I've done this tour, and it was even better this time! Our guide was genuinely enthusiastic and very well informed, full of interesting local information and obviously a long time local of the area. The combination of history and delicious food sampling keeps both brain and body on the go, and 3 hours sped by. I would recommended this tour without hesitation to both visitors and New Yorkers alike.

We had a great time along with great food on a simply great day in the Village. Actually we plan on doing this tour again in the future. Our guide, Barry, was very knowledgeable and courteous. We had the advantage of a very small group (just us) so it was like she was our personal tour guide. She seemed to have much interest in her city, and she came across like she really enjoyed her work. We would definitely do another Zerve tour.

We had a great time on the Chelsea & meatpacking tour. Saw a few celebs too which was fun! We tried loads of different things, including flavoured salts & salt 'candies' which were very tasty and surprising. We were lucky enough to only have a small tour and the chance to meet and talk to many of the owners of the businesses we were touring which was great. I also liked meeting the real-life lobsters!!! The food was delicious, and plenty of it. A real mix of samples so there is something for everyone. I liked hearing about the history of the areas we were visiting and the regeneration that's happening there, plus we stuck our heads round the door of some fab restaurants and shops that'd we'd have never gone in otherwise. All in all a great tour with a great guide (Kurt!), which made for great fun (and a full stomach!!).
