Don't miss it!

If you are a curious traveler, who likes to experience off the beaten path adventures, don't miss the Greenwich Village Food Tasting and Cultural Tour. It was so interesting and entertaining. I attended with my 25 year old son and we both walked away agreeing that the tour was one of the best we had ever taken. It spanned the ages, there was something for everyone. Our guide was delightful. I am going to steal some of his jokes!! He was a scream. This is not a sampling tour! There were full size slices of pizza, cups of hot soup, several sweet items that were unusual and craving worthy - to name just a few. We returned to several of the restaurants on our own after the tour was over because we loved the atmosphere and the vibe. The quaint streets of the village and the background given about the area made the neighborhood come alive for us. Thank you very much. We would go on the same tour again! And will certainly look into the other tours offered by FoodTours on our next trip to NYC.

My husband and I along with my 74 year old Mom and 16 year old neice had a fabulous time with Todd as our tour leader. Very intersting information, lots of great tastes and a thorough tour of the area. We would recommend it highly. In fact we will be participating in the other tours on our next trip to New York. One suggestion, we met other tourists on our weekend in New York and told them about the tour. Consider giving out a business card or pamphlet to share with others.

Highlight of our NYC Christmas visit !!

We absolutely loved the entire experience in Greenwich Village. The history is fabulous, the architecture is beautiful, the quaintness so charming and the food is delicious. We felt we had been transported to another place - forgetting we were in New York City !! We even discussed staying in the area on our next trip. We wanted to eat a full meal in each of the restaurants we visited! We highly recommend the experience to anyone visiting NYC ! We plan to investigate taking another Food Tour in a different area of the city on a future trip !! Thank you, thank you, thank you !!!

It's called a "food tour" but I thought that the food offerings were a bit meager and the guide's constant comments about how the merchants got annoyed at the group going through their establishments (especially the pub) made me feel that the tour was not as well-organized as I would have liked - why take us into a place that isn't welcoming? The management and restaurant with the hidden house in the back, however, was delightful. The historical portion of the tour was much better, although the tour guide completely missed the unusually-shaped house that Walt Disney used to live in with the murals on the walls but was quite knowledgeable about the Cherry Lane Theater and some of the immigrant areas. She never mentioned that Commerce Street is called that because that's where the old commerce buildings were located. It wasn't a bad experience, and I did learn about "clunker" bricks and some other architectural elements, but I think I expected more. Also, the guide's comment at the beginning of the tour about gratuities being appreciated was unnecessary and a bit offensive. Would I go on another tour? Probably, but with out-of-towners only.

Go early in your trip to make most of this tour!

Really enjoyed this tour. Felt a bit slow to start with but it definitely picked up. Some good stops for tasting, including pizza, cheese, salami, cookies, and Italian pastries. The guide also told us something about the history of the area as well as the architecture. I would definitely recommend that anyone taking this tour goes on it as early in their visit to New York as possible so that you get the chance to revisit some of the shops, cafes, restaurants that are on the tour. You also get a leaflet with details of lots of other eateries as well as some money-off coupons.

My husband and I have just returned from the Greenwich Village tour and have recommended it highly to anyone who will listen! Our tour guide, Amy, was very personable, knowledgeable and fun to be with. The food was wonderful and the history of the area was interesting and enjoyable (not dry and boring, as on some tours). We can not wait to return to New York City and take another of your tours as well as return to some of the places we discovered on this tour. Thanks for a great outing!

We have heard of this tour from a friend and decided it sounded like fun. I can honestly say this was the highlight of our stay in New York. Our guide, Curt was absolutely amazing. We cannot say enough about him. He made our tour interesting, extremely informative and so much fun. The food was amazing! I have never tasted such amazing food. Chelsea Market was our favorite place. I have friends coming to New York in February and you can bet they will be taking one if not more of your tours. If we had longer, we would take every one. Our next trip to New York will definately include this tour and we would ask for Curt again. I'm sure the other guides are great as well, but we had such a positive experience with him. Not only did Curt do all of this, but he remembered all of our names and he even remembered I was allgergic to strawberries! I don't even remember putting that on the form. Unbelievable. I give this tour AND Curt 10 Stars!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you. We Love New York!! Estelle (San Diego, CA) Melanie (Tampa, Florida) Danielle (Tampa) Mikaela (Tampa)

Couldn't have been better!

We had a full complement of a group - 16 - which was not too many as may have been feared. Our tour leader was well-informed, fun, and personable. The foodie stops were varied and the food delicious. The architectural and local information provided was interesting, and we got a good feel for the west village area. We will now feel comfortable in returning to the area on future visits. We enjoyed the entire experience and would recommend it to anyone visiting Manhattan. After many Christmas-time trips to the city, this was a nice change from the usual tourist venues. The same people offer additional tours which we will certainly consider. You don't have to be a "foodie" to enjoy this three-hour tour! It was a great value as well!!

This was a wonderful tour. Our tour director was very knowledgeable and considerate of everyones comfort. My husband and I along with my in-laws thought this was one of the highlights of our trip. You will not go hungry. Lots of tasting. We really enjoyed the historical information about the village. We walked through an actual speakeasy. It was cold but our tour guide tried to get us inside as much as possible. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone and it is not a lot of walking as the area is small.

Our tour guide Kurt was the best tour guide my friends and I have ever been on a tour with. He was so funny and informative and very helpful to everyone. Even getting us a cab when the tour was finished. We learned so much about NY and the people of the area. I would truly recommend this tour to anyone who would like to have a fun three hours and learn so much about NY.

This tour was fun, informative, and more than we expected. We learned lots about Greenwich Village (current and historical), saw a good part of the neighborhood, and sampled some yummy food. The next night we returned and tried out one of the restaurants we learned about during the tour. It was great! Since returning to my home in Texas, I have already recommended the tour to a friend visiting New York in the summer.

This tour was extremely enjoyable. The guide, Susan, knows the subject very well and has a great, New York, personality. I would recommend it to anyone, not just first time tourists.

We're telling anyone who will listen about our great Greenwich Village walking tour. we loved everything about it, except for the cold, windy weather. The tour was led by Bari and she did a wonderful job of keeping us on track and interested in all the details. The combination of food, facts and history is just perfect. Every year our group of friends meet in NYC and now we're going to add the walking tours to the list of "must do".
