Foods of New York Tours

After going on two other NYC food tours and one in Boston I was very disappointed in this one. It was so hot yet we were constantly stopped in the hot sun for 3 hrs and given too much history of the area. If I wanted that much history/info on the area I would have signed up and paid for a different type tour. It was so awkward always eating outside on the the street, not getting to sit down and rest. Our guide kept getting us to "line" up in two lines and squeeze together in the heat. Several times we could have at least stopped in the shade instead. This tour was just not what I wanted or expected. We only found one Italian place we would have wanted to return to. Even the one drink we had was chocolate milk and grape juice mixed together! Does this sound appealing? We did not even get to look inside most of the food places. At least cut the group down or send 5 at a time inside. No, I would not recommend this tour.

Enjoyed all of the restaurants. Went back on our last day to have lunch from 2 of the restaurants as well as picked up pastry from Once Upon a Tart to take home to family in Cincinnati. It traveled extremely well and was as delicious as the day of the tour.

Annie was an excellent guide - fun and nice and full of information about the area. I liked that there were 3 indoor sit-down eating spots; it was a hot day! And I liked Annie's song at the end of the tour!

Enjoyed the history of the area. Impressed with the knowledge of the food presented. Our guide had an assortment of info on contents of the products served, history of the area, and a great personality. I will attend again and have spread the word to family and friends.

Another great tour booked through Zerve/Foods of NY Tours! Our guide, Annie, was delightful and provided in-depth history of the area and offered information on many of the shops we passed, even though several were not on our scheduled stops. The foods we sampled were quite good, and prompted us to returned to the area for dinner a couple of times even though we stayed in upper Manhattan. A very enjoyable adventure for visitors or New Yorkers alike, especially if weather cooperates.

Annie was very good and knew everyone's names immediately.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. We learnt lots about pizza, olive oil, cheese, cookies etc and had plenty of samples. More than enough to eat for a 'mobile' lunch. We did not have to walk too far and everything was well planned from providing us with water to organizing comfort stops, and each establishment was ready for us as we arrived. Our guide was entertaining and we learnt quite a bit about the culture of Greenwich village. We have visited NYC often and this was a nice change from the usual tourist activities.

We are native New Yorkers from when we grew up here. We have lived in Maryland and Florida but still come to NYC frequently. The tour was great! Learned a lot about an area of the city that we were not that familiar with and tasted great food along the way! Will and have recommended it to friends. Perhaps have people give their name and where they are from quickly at the beginning, otherwise guide was great - knowledgeable and interesting.

This was an excellent tour. Well worth the cost. Our guide, Daryl, was amazing.

We were lucky to have beautiful weather, excellent guide, & a nice group of tour companions. The food tasted was delicious. If I have any critique, it is that we stood too long in many locations in order for the guide to give us background/history/culture. Would suggest a slightly shorter time span.

We never before were in greenwich village. Now it is as we have lived there. Our guide was a perfect one, she told us a lot of interesting things and we saw the village with other eyes than when we had visited on our own. Compliments to the guide, but also to the places we visited. It made our new york holiday a perfect one. We will in the Netherlands recommend youe tour(s)

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour - this was mainly due to the excellence of the guide Kurt - he was knowledgable, informative,articulate and had a good sense of humour also a very good memory for names. He brought Greenwich Village to life.The food & the providores were very good. However it must be said I would do any tour that Kurt was on. Avery memorable morning.
