I found the Greenwich Village food tour to be very relaxing and enjoyable. It was a nice pace. The food was incredible and our tour guide was amazing. I learned so much about the area's history and restaurants and had a lot of fun at the same time. I can't wait to go again! |

It all starts with a terrific guide, Carrie-Anne. Engaging personality, well-informed about the food and sights and kept us moving at a enjoyable pace. A bargain of a 3 hour excursion in NYC.

This was a ver enjoyable day trip we took with friends. We got to enjoy some of the tasty delights along with the history of the building and surrounding area. Our tour guide Daryl had such a wealth of knowledge that kept our attention wanting for more fun details. |

I've lived in NYC for 15 years, and I know a bit about Greenwich Village and the food offered there, but on a recent "staycation", I decided to be a tourist in my own town. I was delightfully surprised by how much I learned on this tour, not only about the neighborhood, but about olive oils, breads, pizzas, old world Italian specialties and cannoli. Bert was our guide, and his enthusiasm was palatable about what he was showing and telling us. I found myself on a street I'd never been on before, though I'm pretty sure I'd seen it in a movie and thought it was Toronto trying to be NYC. All of the food was delicious. I particularly liked the new addition to the tour that is Roma (we were told we were the guinea pigs trying that new place). The Roman-style pizza was fantastic, and very unlike the New York-style pizza I'm used to. I especially liked learning about the bakery that had been at the same location before Roma, Zito's, and it's history in the neighborhood. Bert even discreetly pointed out Mrs. Zito when we saw her on the street. There's plenty of food, you won't come away hungry. My being a vegetarian was accommodated with ease. We received a booklet with a map showing all of the places we ate at, and others of particular note as well, but the best part was the coupons included for the shops and restaurants. Being a local, these will most certainly be put to good use! Overall, I would highly recommend this tour, and Bert as a tour guide, if you can get him. Thanks, Bert, for the great afternoon! |

I was on a date for this tour and we both had a great time, enjoying the sights, sounds and flavors of Greenwich Village. Bret was an amazing tour guide and I highly recommend him--extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful with a fantastic sense of humor and showmanship. The only reason I didn't give this tour 5 stars is that I'd have liked a little more variety in the cuisine tasted--it's predominantly Italian and it would have been nice to have a few other types of ethnic foods and flavors. Otherwise, it's a great tour! |

Rahim (sp?) was an excellent and knowledgable tour guide- I would definitely take another tour with him. The food was great-- I will definitely take out of town guests on other tours with your group again. I hope all of the tour guides are as engaging. As a New Yorker, I couldn't believe the short distance that we traveled during the tour (I think we walked in a circle around a block) and how entertaining the tour was. |

A MUST STOP FOR ANYONE VISITING OR BASED IN NYC!

I have been on every tour Food of New York Tours offers (bar the new Nolita one - that's next) and whether I join visitors or I suggest to them - it is a must do for anyone visiting or living NYC. What better way to bring together food, walking and local history - and for a reasonable price? Having just done my 2nd Greenwich tour about 2 years apart - there were new stops and learnings. So I say great for a first time and great for a repeat! |

We planned this tour as an early birthday present for my son's girlfriend because I had done the Chelsea Market tour in the Spring. There were 6 of us: 3 men and 3 women. The consensus was that it provided us with an overview of a portion of The Village including historic and notable locations of TV and movie sets. However, the tour was too concentrated on so few streets that we didn't really feel like we got to see very much. Additionally, the guys were really hungry at the end. What I heard from them is that they woudl have liked more food (perhaps a meal/entre) and then information about the area. Personally, I was less impressed with this tour than the Chelsea Market tour and thought we had a better selection of foods so at the end it seemed like we'd eaten lunch. Nonetheless, I would recommend it and will undoubtedly consider other tours. |
