I've been to this area many times in my life and never realized all that was there. Our guide was great and the food was wonderful. |

I enjoyed the tour. Great balance of interesting and educational talking points, coupled with some delicious Chinese food! As a local who has considered himself an experienced Chinatown vet, I still learned a lot of things I hadn't known. The guide was well-versed in what he was talking about and seemed to really enjoy his job. I would recommend this tour. |

We both really enjoyed the trip. Not only did we get to taste some great local food but our guide talked a lot about the history of the area and some of the characters who helped shape it. The day of our tour was very cold so some of the tastings had to be done on the pavements outside the shops as they were busy with paying customers. Make sure therefore that you check the weather forecast and dress appropriately. |

This tour is surprisingly, almost shockingly, full of good food. You can't finish the tour hungry. Our guide was very charismatic and entertaining. There was hardly a dull moment. She didn't go deeply into the cultural history of the Village or the cultural context of the foods she served, but that was fine. It was enough to share with us some great stories and great food. Thank you! |

Entertaining, informative and very tasty. Our guide, Kurt, was funny, extremely knowledgeable and descriptive about all things culinary. His wit, the quality of the food sampled and the company of our fellow tasters made this a highlight of our trip to NYC. |

Did the Meatpacking/Chelsea Market tour. It was one of the most entertaining and fun things I have done in a long time. Our tour guide Curt simply was amazing. Looking forward to be on one of his tours again. |

Our tour guide, Curt, was knowledgeable, funny, witty, high energy and enthusiastic. Within 5 minutes of "shaking hands" with everyone in the tour group, he memorized everyone's name and home town and for the next 3 hours, made everyone felt that he was giving them "personal VIP treatment". What a pleasant & unexpected treat!
I would definitely recommend this tour, especially if Curt is the guide!! Thank you, Curt! |

There was very little regarding food preparation and certainly no cooking tips or discussion by the proprietors of any restaurant. We did have interaction with the sales clerks at a cheese shop and an olive oil shop. This "tour" was mostly standing on the sidewalk in front of restaurants (in a cold, blowing rain) listening to the history of the establishment or of the neighborhood. The tastings were modest and strung over three hours--no way I would consider this lunch. Most of the establishments allowed us inside due to the inclement weather, but only after our guide left us on the sidewalk and asked permission. It appears that there was very little prearranged with any of the restaurants. The cheese shop and olive oil shop knew we were coming, were welcoming, and obviously hoping for a sale. One or two of the restaurants had prepared a small sit-down tasting which was clearly prearranged. For most, this was not the case. Our guide was knowledgable and entertaining (an unemployed actress doing the tour guide gig). My advice--go to Bleeker Street in the village and take your own tour. If you look like you might buy something, the folks in these shops are delighted to talk to you, sans the big group and the tour guide. Find your own nice restaurant and sit down and have an ACTUAL LUNCH, maybe even a glass of wine (and pay for it with the money you would have used for the tour and tip). And if the weather is bad, you won't be forced to stand on the sidewalk in front of the establishment--you can actually GO IN. |

The tour guide, Bert, was spectacular. He made the tour interesting and comfortable. The food was out of this world. Bert provided a historical perspective that was interesting and thought provoking. |
