I have been to NYC many times and only wished I knew about the Food and Culture tours before. I will make it a point to do another tour on my next visit. The price is reasonable, and is 3 hours well spent. With so much choice in NYC, this tour allows you to focus on a select few places, and gives you confidence to return to the respective area, and have a great meal. I love the Central Village area/SOHO. Raheem was a great tour guide. I hope to see him again on future tours. |

The Soho food and culture tour was without doubt one of the highlights of our trip to New York. Susan, our guide, made the whole experience unforgetable, with a warm and sunny smile that melt the cold and windy weather. Food to taste was plenty and tasty, and all the historical background hints of the area made the tour even more fun; you could pass by many of the places thousand times without noticing those little hidden gems).
Definetely worthy, and actually the only thing to regret is not having done it at the beginning of our trip, so we could have used the tips about wonderful restaurants and clubs in the area. And it is moorish....one will never be enough as one is left wondering what can be awaiting you in the next tour. |

The most enjoyable part of the tour was the historical background provided by the tour guide, and the chance to visit sections of the city you wouldn't otherwise. The restaurant recommendations make this tour worth it! |

The guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The group size was just about right. The balance of walking, talking and eating was just right.
The food samples ranged from OK to excellent in taste. They were all very different and whilst I wouldn't go back for more of all of the things we tried I would go back for more of some of them.
I was not disappointed with any of the tastings we had.
One of the best things about the tour, or worst depending on your point of view, was that we discovered loads of great places to eat that were not in out guidebook. The problem being we had to decide which ones to go for and which ones to miss as our time in NYC didn't allow us to go to them all.
The tour seems quite expensive with initially booking but it fact its probably no worse than any other tour in Manhattan when you take into account the fact it covers lunch and several hours of informative chat.
I would certainly recommend it. |

Myself, my mother, and my mother in law came up for a long weekend March 19-22. Ages 40, 62, 67. Our tour guide, Saffra, was magnificent! She was witty, engaging, knowledgeable, and well organized. The tour pace was very do-able for all in our group. The food- I cannot even begin to say how wonderful the food was- and how much one gets through the sampling! There was at least 8-10 different locations/tastings. A very nice combination for local flavor- off the beaten path. Take this tour as early in your visit as possible to leave time to plan dinners/lunches from the tastings. Great tips on where to go/ where you'll want to stay away. We did this tour and one another day w/ another tour company and I regret the timing didn't work out for us to take both tours with Foods of NY Tours. Foods of NY Tour was EXTREMELY well planned, organized, top-notch, experienced tour. I can't say the same for the "other" tour- it did not measure up. Thanks for the memories Food of NY Tours and Saffra! |

The Greenwich/Soho tour was just as fun & informative as the others we've enjoyed through Food Tours. Our guide was friendly, interesting and funny (Rafim) and we had more than enough delicious food to savor. It is a great bargain and I would highly recommend anyone who's visiting NYC to go on one of these food tours! |

This was fun, given the weather (sunny and warm). As the title of the tour says, the tour is mostly about tasting. Most interesting to us was the information about the Chelsea Market building itself and the Meatpacking District. My rating is "neutral" because one could do this tour on one's own--without the food, of course, unless you went into shops on your own and, wanting to buy something, asked for a taste before purchase. So whether or not to recommend the tour: depends on what you're after. But if you want to take a tour that's heavy on tasting and light on historical information rather than going it on your own: our guide was terrific and informative and very energetic. And particularly knowledgeable about food and cooking. |

We really enjoyed the tour of Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking district. We thoroughly loved exploring the market and learning the history behind the buliding. My husband almost kissed the ground when he found out it was the birthplace of the Oreo cookie. The samples selected for us to try were excellent and our tour guide, Cindy, was not only full of great information and history, but hilarious as well. We saw so many things we wanted to try, we went back to the market the next day to have lunch. It was amazing to see how the neighborhood is changing. The new Highline park was an added bonus that we were not expecting. We can't wait to try the other tours offered by Foods of New York the next time we are in the city. |

The weather was horrible, rain, cold and extremely windy!! All of the elements aside, the tour was fantastic and gave us a "taste" of the villiage and ideas of what we'd like to do on our own. The restaurants selected were very courteous and offered nice portions of tastings so that you' d get enough but not too much to not be able to taste the other stops!! The tour guide was very upbeat, enjoyable and accomadating especially with the weather conditions. Thanks. |

The food tastings were fantastic and well spaced throughout the tour. The guide was knowledgeable, a little quiet at times, but very interesting and friendly. We felt like we got a good understanding of the neighborhood and would love to go back to dine at some of the restaurants we visited. |
