I really enjoyed the tour, but would have liked a little more variety of samples -- and fewer carbs! Loved the intro to the many great food stores and restaurants. Would have loved more entree into the meat market. And very surprised that Pearl's was not mentioned while we were learning about restaurants on Cornelia Street. When questioned, the guide gave a cursory answer about not talking about restaurants he wasn't familiar with, but it seemed perhaps that you only mention establishments that support Foods of New York ....
In any case, my husband and I will definitely go on additional tours on future trips. |

We spent the week doing all the usual first-time tourist activities, and enjoyed them all. But the Greenwich Village Food Tour was the highlight of our trip. Ed, our tour guide, was wonderful. The food was great. After the tour we went back to some of the stores on our stops and made purchases. The shop owners were all very welcoming and helpful. That night we returned for dinner. We would recommend the tour to everyone. |

We were lucky with the weather and so spent a wonderful sunny day exploring popular and lesser-known streets in the village/soho. the tour focused on the area's history related to architecture, music and immigrants. Although we sampled quite a few different kinds of food (all tasty and interesting), I felt somewhat unsatisfied because each sampling was no more than a bite or two, and we were usually standing on the street trying to keep out of other pedestrians' way while we ate and listened.
Bottom line: a good way to get to know the history and culture of this part of new york, but don't choose it solely for the food! |

I take a tour every time I go to NYC...once a month or so....with goal of getting to neighborhoods off the beaten tourist path. I enjoyed the tour leader and the Chelsea Market area, will definetely go back for to the area on my next trip to the City. |

We all really enjoyed tour although our guide was a little late and therefore seemed a bit rushed the entire time.
We loved the food and also the historical info given.
Fabulous highly recommend. |

We expected to walk more and explore both the Village and SoHo. Our village tour focused mostly on MacDougal street and immediate environs and the SoHo part I think was when we crossed Houston street and walked couple short streets like Sullivan. We wanted to see more of the area and actually walk--there were so many streets to explore! After the tour we were able to walk on our own so the tour did help with our sense of direction. The food was OK at best save for a nice little morsel of smoked food. One Italian store in particular was spoken highly of and we went inside but we didn't get any food. People wanted to stop and buy something but we had to move on. I appreciated the tidbits of information we were offered about the area. I would advise to stay close to the leader so that you can hear everything, as sometimes the cars and trucks were louder than the voice. It was an interesting outing, and it seemed that most people loved it. However, don't be surprised if you want to stop and have lunch after the outing is over. |

Yummy, often non-conventional tastings. Introduces you to unique shops and restaurants that you'd never discover on your own. Highly recommended for foodies and non-foodies alike! |

The tour was absolutely amazing, the selected stops were wonderful. Our group had a wonderful time and days later everyone is still talking about what a great time we had. We are looking forward to another tour in the future and will recommend to anyone who is looking for a great activity in the city. It was an amazing time! Thanks! |

i have taken a lot of group tours (all over the world) and Cindy was perfect. I thought that the walking trip was balanced between the history of NYC and the food shops. Great job. |

We have been on wonderful walking tours in other cities (Rome, for example!) but this so-called cultural and gastronomic tour, consisted basically of being led from one restaurant to another and then having to stand on the sidewalk outside each one, eating drippy samples on paper plates while our guide held forth about the merits of each one. To be fair, the discussion of olive oils was quite interesting. However, there was very little historical or cultural information about the neighborhood ... essentially, we paid far too much money for a three-hour infomercial for various restaurants (which we assume must have agreed to participate for promotional considerations). As visitors just in town for a week or so every couple of years, it did not motivate us to come back and eat at the recommended establishments. And it is hard to imagine that people who live here would enjoy being dragged around and lectured on how to choose a restaurant, either. |

It was ok. I don't understand why it was given such enthusiastic recomendations. Also we went back to some of the restauraunts that were recommended on the tour and were dissapointed. This makes me think that the restaurants they recommend pay the tour company to recommend them. Not a bad tour, but definitly not great...far from great. |
