A walking tour of Greenwich Village while it's 105 degrees outside. Tough, very tough. But, the food was fantastic. Would have been nice to include more wine tastings. Nice tidbits of info on Greenwich Village that you could probably have gotten by Googling. If you are looking for info/background on the different types of restaurants and other eateries in the village, take the tour.

We really enjoyed the tour even though it was really hot out! Our tour guide was really knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Our kids really liked the food , my husband and I thought it was soso. But what really made it fun was learning the history of Greenwich village and learning a lot of new things. The free gelato coupon at the end was the best and we all became fans of something new!

We had Cindy as our tour guide and she was great! Very knowledgeable and enjoys what she does. Always impresses me when someone likes their job, doesnt matter what it is. I am a history/foodie person myself so I found it very engaging. A couple of other ppl in my group werent such history people but still enjoyed listening and absorbing the culture of chelsea market. we loved the market itself and stayed back for a bit to do more shopping afterwards, and come back for lunch the next day.. GREAT TOUR.

This tour was educational with lots of good food that was delicious. Our tour guide, Diana, was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. We enjoyed the whole three hours. We even went back to the area that night to eat at a restaurant that Diana had recommended.

This was my first food tour and was highly recommended by a friend. It did not disappoint. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and it made one want to go back to each store for more!! I didn't want the tour to end. Planning my next food tour....can't wait.

Our guide made the tour so interesting. Aside from the fine samples and history of the foods and food merchants, our tour included a visual treat in the beautiful restrooms of Morimoto's Restaurant. Chelsea Market will definitely be a primary stop on my next trip to NYC.

Wonderful introduction to a NY neighborhood

Whether you're a first time visitor to New York City or not, this tour is a wonderful introduction to a neighborhood, its food, shops, and residents. The tour buses drive through here for a reason. But instead of being inside a bus, you can be mingling with the locals. Definitely worth the cost and time!

We were a group of 4 -- 2 adults and 2 teen-agers -- and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area, the restaurants and menus, and she couldn't have been nicer or more enthuastic. Two of us are vegetarians, and I was impressed that the tour operators were able to arrange for food that we were able to eat. Some of the foods were unusual, but all of it was delicious, and filling. I would recommend this tour for anyone - tourists and New Yorkers alike. You would not be disappointed.

We visit the city regularly with family and friends, but, we have never made it into Greenwich. This tour gave us history, culture, community and food. Raheem was a knowledgeable and a great story-teller. He made a connection with each person in the tour group. We did go back for dinner the next night to one of the places we tasted. This was 1 tour we all unanimously agreed was the best time we had in NYC.

Great tour with excellent food tastings

The tour was well planned considering it started at noon and most of the establishments had customers. Food tastings were all very good with absolutely no need for lunch following the tour. Would highly recomment.

Good Combination of Information and Entertainment

Good balance of food types in the tastings. Tour guide was sensitive to the effect of the very hot weather on the group. Guide was knowledgeable about the architecture and history of the district and imparted interesting information. We would have preferred fewer references to the Food Network but enjoyed her humor. The length of the tour was just about right; could have been 1/2 hr shorter. Would have preferred fewer people (10 rather than 15).

Had a great time!!!!!

We all had a great time on this tour. Our tour guide Raheem (sorry if it is spelled wrong) was very knowledgeable of the area, made great recommendations and was very relaxed. He took his time and never rushed us from one venue to the next. All of the tastings we indulged on were fantastic. Each one was unique and not your run of the mill fair. They all left a lasting impression, but I think the two that stand out the most for us were the bolognese and the ricotta cheese cake. We certainly did not walk away hungry. The cultural side of the tour beyond the food was quite interesting. We found it very easy to put ourselves in the past with all of the great writers and musicians of the different times and wonder what it was like. Greenwich village and Soho is such a great area of the city. We can't wait to go back. We have already recommended this tour to our friends. Hopefully they will take our advice. The next time I'm in the city I hope to do the Chelsea and Meatpacking District tour. Hopefully it will be sooner rather that later.
