We loved the Chinatown Tour!

The China town tour took us places a New Yorker may not ever have seen on their own. We were given a historical background and even pictures of what the sites looked like long ago. We had a feel of how the neighborhood changed as we walked through small winding streets and came upon different venues. The restaurants on our tour gave us a taste of the best and most authentic for Dim Sum, Peking Duck and Cantonese food. The tour guide (Rajiid?) gave us detailed descriptions of the food and preparation of everything we ate. The service was great, everything was ready for us and we had a quiet private area in each of our places. We also visited a Health/herbal and tea place stocked up with exotic and some very expensive delicacies. There you can also get some homeopathic remedies. Some of us enjoyed the fruity bubbly teas. The tour was most enjoyable and a great experience as the tour guide was so entertaining with his many stories and the fellow participants were so friendly. We highly recommend this tour and we are planning some other ones very soon.

Another great food tour by Foods of NY Tours

This is my 2nd tour with Foods of NY, but my sisters & niece's first time. Everyone really enjoyed the tour & food. Our guide was very helpful, entertaining & informative. One of our family members is vegetarian & the accommodations for her (considering this is the Market tour) were very well done. Thank you for another memorable event. We're looking forward to our next visit to NY so we can enjoy the next tour with Foods of NY.

Food Tour

Tour was conducted too fast, the eating stops were rushed. I think the guide had to cover too much. Two pizzas, two deserts? Much of the food was average. The Asian food stop seemed out of place in a predominantly Italian food tour. The history could have included more on the wonderful folk musicians who got their start in the Village. Mindless emphasis on what building sold for how much. I do not think I could recommend this tour.

A walking tour of Greenwich Village while it's 105 degrees outside. Tough, very tough. But, the food was fantastic. Would have been nice to include more wine tastings. Nice tidbits of info on Greenwich Village that you could probably have gotten by Googling. If you are looking for info/background on the different types of restaurants and other eateries in the village, take the tour.

We really enjoyed the tour even though it was really hot out! Our tour guide was really knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Our kids really liked the food , my husband and I thought it was soso. But what really made it fun was learning the history of Greenwich village and learning a lot of new things. The free gelato coupon at the end was the best and we all became fans of something new!

We had Cindy as our tour guide and she was great! Very knowledgeable and enjoys what she does. Always impresses me when someone likes their job, doesnt matter what it is. I am a history/foodie person myself so I found it very engaging. A couple of other ppl in my group werent such history people but still enjoyed listening and absorbing the culture of chelsea market. we loved the market itself and stayed back for a bit to do more shopping afterwards, and come back for lunch the next day.. GREAT TOUR.

This tour was educational with lots of good food that was delicious. Our tour guide, Diana, was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. We enjoyed the whole three hours. We even went back to the area that night to eat at a restaurant that Diana had recommended.

Our guide made the tour so interesting. Aside from the fine samples and history of the foods and food merchants, our tour included a visual treat in the beautiful restrooms of Morimoto's Restaurant. Chelsea Market will definitely be a primary stop on my next trip to NYC.

Wonderful introduction to a NY neighborhood

Whether you're a first time visitor to New York City or not, this tour is a wonderful introduction to a neighborhood, its food, shops, and residents. The tour buses drive through here for a reason. But instead of being inside a bus, you can be mingling with the locals. Definitely worth the cost and time!
