Foods of New York Tours

I enthusiastically recommend this tour. I was suprised by the enormous amount of food we got--I would have liked a bit more walking to work it off, but it was really great. Our guide (Sefra) was fantastic. She is obviously very knowledgeable about the neighborhood, and more than that, she was just plain fun to spend the afternoon with. Don't hesitate to book this tour!

This tour was worth EVERY penny - very informative as well as fun!! The food was AWESOME! A quality tour that we will tell all our friends and relatives about. Great tour for kids 10 and up!! We will definitely do it again!

A special thanks to Curt for his knowledge, enthusiasm and humour. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the tour. Later, we went for dinner at one of the recommended restaurants and enjoyed a memorable meal and a wonderful evening. Many thanks from Canada.

We had an absolutely fabulous time on our tour of Greenwich Village. Our guide, Carrie Ann, was the best you could possibly want. She was informative, funny, helpful, organized, easy to be with and follow. All the tastings were delicious and satisfying. We ate at Rocco's Bakery after the tour, continuing the great time we had. When we signed up, we thought, "What could we be doing for 3 hrs.?" It went so fast, and we were sad when it was over. We especially congratulate Carrie Ann as it was a very cold day, and she moved us along at a good pace and gave us opportunities to "warm up". We will go again when we return to New York. It was the best. And, we will always ask for Carrie Ann as our guide. She was the best, too.

Food was amazing... Shops were interesting. Shop keepers spoke to us and told us about their products. Kurt kept the tour fun and interesting with lots of local color. Discount coupons for the shops visited. Really enjoyed our tour... going to another next time!!

The tour was fun, the guide was excellent , very knowledgable , attentive and funny i.e. good sense of humor. My only recommendation is that we be given more ice water over the 3 hours, it was extremely hot out and one of the food places was really hot. Some of us are not used to the intense East coast summers.

Even though it was pouring rain we had the best time on our Greenwich tour and I would highly recommend this tour service. I loved how we got significant size samples of food along the way instead of sitting to eat an entire meal in only one shop. The guide, although I forgot his name, was very knowlegeable of the area and NYC in general and did a great job teaching us about Greenwich Village area and the local cuisine. Thank You

Our leader Curt was not only knowledgeable about the food but also about the area. I would suggest this activity to anyone who loves food and history. He was highly entertaining as well.

This is the second time I have done this tour and I thoroughly enjoyed both times. Both tours were with friends who appreciate good food and were interested in a taste of Greenwich Village. Our guide was very funny and entertained the group with stories while still enlightening us with details about the food and some history of the area. It's a great way to get restaurant recommendations. We returned to Palma the next night and had a fabulous meal in the garden, plus we purchased items at several of the shops we visited on the tour.

The only thing that could have made this tour better is if it was 30 degrees warmer! Our tour guide, Curt, was phenomenal - funny, personable, knowledgable and considerate. The tour was well paced and the food awesome. We particularly enjoyed hearing about the history of the area, both the restaurants and shops while trying the delicious foods. My only regret is that we took the tour on our last day - there were many places we are going back to next year. On a side note - I have "bad' feet and found this tour very managable - there were opportunities to sit down a couple times so don't think that you will be on your feet for the full three hours. I would hate for someone to pass up this opportunity. The tour also attracted a really nice group of people. I don't think I've ever toured with a more polite and friendly group. I won't take this tour again next year - only because I am already looking forward to taking a different tour. Enjoy! And, Curt, I'll be looking for you on TV one of these days - keep them laughing! The recipe for the perfect Food & Culture Tour: Begin with an enthusiastic, knowledgeable guide who seems to enjoy her work, throw in some people from all over the world, add a touch of diverse and very special ingredients from some wonderful shops and restaurants in Chelsea Market and taste each one before adding to the mix, allow time for a break to enjoy the High Line and its history, and then walk to experience the icing on the cake--a grand Italian Restaurant for a sit down tasting of homemade pasta. It doesn't get much better than this. Oh, and I forgot to add that our guide, Cindy, gave us much more than food; she gave us the history of the Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking district--so important in a city like New York where change is a way of life and the rebirth of neighborhoods so fascinating. I couldn't ask for more--well, yes I could--I could ask for reservations for other Foods of NY Tours. And that is exactly what I and my companions intend to do. I might add that I am hearing impaired and Cindy went out of her way to make sure I was near enough to hear everything she had to say. She was super, and so was the tour.

Our guide, Sefra, was adorable! She was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We will do this again and recommend to others. The food was all delicious and it was fun and interesting to learn about the history of the neighborhood.

Our guide, Curt Upton, was so warm and inviting. Not only was he very knowledgeable about the Greenwich Village area, he shared that knowledge with our group in a way that was entertaining, informative and relaxing. My group was astonished at the wide variety of foods and the "behind the scene" shop areas that we were privy to. We felt as if we had finally seen the "real" NY. I highly recommend the "Food and Cultural" tour (in any area) as a way to get to know the city, beyond the usual tourist attractions. The tour is definitely worth the time and money.

This was a great thing to do in NYC. Our guide was excellent--very knowledgeable and personable. We went to various restaurants and a couple of shops. The food we had was delicious. The tour was 3 hours, and the pace was just right. I was pleased with the information the guide gave about the area (history and miscellaneous info). We were introduced to restaurants and shops we might otherwise have passed by. I highly recommend this tour (Greenwich Village/SoHo).

I would highly recommend this tout to anyone....even if you think you know the Village. This was our 8th trip to NYC and the Village area, and we learned alot about the neighbourhood.....even had a celebrity siting!
