My husband and I were visiting our son who is living in NYC, so the three of us decided to take this tour. What an awesome time for all of us. Info and food were all fantastic - the guide was great (Burt). Turns out this is an activity that parents and their adult child can enjoy together (since we don't play video games or basketball). :) We are seriously planning to take a tour with this group every time we visit from the west coast.

GREAT TOUR OF CHELSEA MARKET!
Sun, Apr 7  11:30 AM cangiulo Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
My group and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Chelsea Market, the tastings, walking along a portion of the High Line but most of all, we enjoyed Cindy's commentary and knowledge of the market building and its long history. The tastings were great - very filling as promised in your literature. We returned to the Market afterward, shopped around and had dessert. All in all - a great afternoon. I have already recommended your tour to others who will be traveling to NYC. We have already taken your Greenwich Village tour and will certainly consider others the next time we visit the City. GREAT JOB! CHRIS ANGIULO

This tour was more than a food tour. Not only did you get to sample some great food but you learned interesting facts about each place and then some history about Grennwich as well. Our tour guide, Burt, said he was relatively new to the company but he was fantastic. He was very well informed and you could tell enjoyed his job. He made the tour FUN! He explained the process they go throuhg to qualify restaurants and it was obvious as the food was fantastic. I'd go again and ask for Burt!

Great tour! It's more than a tasting, and that's good all by itself, you also learn about the history of the area and the local architecture. Marie was our guide and she was fantastic! She's incredibly friendly . . . makes you feel very comfortable from the moment you meet her . . . and the knowledge she has about the food, the restaurants, the neighborhood, the history and architecture is very impressive. I went with a group of friends and had a great time but this would also be a good idea for a team builder.

We were lucky to be there on a perfect day, with a great bunch of people and a most enthusiastic & knowledgeable host. The food tastings were excellent, the history provided of the area & eateries was first class & the host, Annie was warm, funny & obviously really enjoys her job, which made for a great time for all. We would recommend this tour as a must do for anyone visiting New York.

NY AT ITS' BEST

Our tour guide is directly responsible for the wonderful time we all had! Her knowledge of the neighborhood, the food and her good natured humor and warmth combined to make us laugh, learn and eat our way merrily through the afternoon. I have done all but one of the NY Food Tours, and this one was my favorite. One couple on this tour was from Australia and this was their first day in NY. As a native New Yorker, it made me feel good to know that they got to see the best of what NY has to offer.... good people, good food, rich history, and lots of heart. I highly recommend this tour!

This was my FOURTH Foods of New York Tour........
Sun, Apr 7  10:45 AM funseeker190 Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
....and each one is better then the one before! Annie set the tone fast and furious......great insights, then an awesome chocolate cupcake. As much as I love the food comments, it is the history and architecture insights that really kept me interested. The most heard phrase the day I was there? "I didnt know that! " I cannot wait until my NEXT trip to NYC to try out the restaurants I learned about on this tour. Great tour guide, Great food, Great information.....Who could ask for anything more? Best Food Tours in NYC
Sun, Apr 7  10:45 AM suellenbr Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Other
I have taken every Food Tour that Food Tours of New York provides...and in most cases.each food tour more than once.... Each time without exception, the tours have been wonderful and I learn more about the city and its gastronomical delights. The guides are all extremely personable and knowledgeable of the area and its history, and the nibbles along the way are wonderful and in most cases, places that you wouldnt go to on your own because you wouldnt know that they are even there but want to revisit after the tour. I have tried food tours from a few other companies in NYC but found them lacking in comparison. In January of each year, I come to NYC with 8 women (we have been doing this for 13 years now)...we go to plays, shop and always take a food tour. This January we did the NOHO tour with Annie. She was a delght and I enjoyed it so much that I brought my sweetie back in April. We were fortunate to have Annie again...and the tour was a wonderful as I remembered it to be the first time. She ended the tour with a song...I have to say that all of the tour guides (though she is the only one who sang to us as a farewell) are exceptional. I have sent many friends to this company and many strangers as well. I would not hesitate to recommend FTOFNY to anyone visiting NYC...and even those who live there but never wonder outside of their neighborhood. Great value and 3 of the most enjoyable hours you will ever spend getting feed and entertained.

Diana was an engaging & solicitous tour guide - very knowledgeable with a terrific sense of humour. The group of 16 worked well. The tour is organized & really hits the highlights -- we all had a great time & thoroughly recommend the tour.

The best way to spend an afternoon in New York!
Sat, Apr 6  1:00 PM ValerieRubel Female 40-49 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We expected a fun afternoon with nibbles on the side. We got a banquet of information, facts and food that grabbed us from the first moment. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable, but what really impressed us was the way she laced the information through the tour in a really entertaining way. The food was perfectly paced through the tour, always something happening, but never too much, and never lagging, no low spots. Our group of 4 consisted of one native New Yorker, two new New Yorkers (have lived here for 2 years ) and one overseas visitor. The tour had so much content, facts and figures, history and humour, that it managed to not only entertain but inform on every level. We all left with some new knowledge and awareness about this city! We could not believe when it was over - we had been walking, eating and had remained attentive for over 3 hours! When it finished we were not tired, quite the opposite, we were looking forward to continue exploring!
