Chelsea Market Tour
Sun, Dec 13, 09   11:30 AM Readerbean Female 30-39 Local Unspecified
The food you taste on this tour is AMAZING and a good variety of savory and sweet! I enjoyed learning about the history of Chelsea Market Place and the Meat Packing district in general. It was unfortunate that the weather was bad, because half of the tour is outside. Overall I would recommend this tour.

Great Tour

Our tour guide Heather was very knowledgeable and gave great detailed information on each location. She kept the tour upbeat in spite of the rainstorm we walked through for the entire 3 hours of the tour. The food was the star of the tour. We had eight locations that we sampled everything from pizza to choco chip cookies. Can't wait to get back to NYC to try one of the other tours.

The only way to dine!

Wow - the quality of food, the quantity of food, the knowledge of the guide - the intimate setting, the knowledge learned - this is the only way to dine out and get a real feel of the area. Only had a weekend to see city - felt like I was multitasking in the most delightful way with like minded people to boot learning but not in a museum eating different foods - did I mention the quality!!! - laid back do not miss the sake and beer - will attempt to do all the other food tasting tours but will do this one again!

I don't like sushi, but I loved this tour.

A really good friend of mine was turning 29 for her brithday and she is a sushi fanatic. I thought it would be cool if I got her tickets to the Sushi and Japanese Tapas tour. ( even though I am not the biggest sushi fan out there ) The place where we were was really cute and cozy. The food, from what my friend told me, wasn't like oh, I'm so full now, but it fulfilled her hunger. Overall on my part, the atmosphere, the group, and our host, Rahim, was phenomenal. Rahim really has this quirky sense of humor, he was able to hold up conversations and tell information throughout the whole event, and he talked loud enough so everyone can hear, but just the right level if you wanted to have a side conversation with whoever you were with. I would really recommend this tour. I enjoyed myself, and my friend- a week later- still can not stop telling people about it.

A great way to see the city!

My husband and I only had 2 days to spend in NYC. I picked this tour from About.com reviews. I absolutely loved it! Our guide, Cindy, was funny and super knowledgeable about the area. Every place we went, the owners/chefs opened their arms to her and our group. It's obvious to see how much she loves this neighborhood, and the locals love her back. It was a great way to see a part of the city that wasn't littered with a Starbucks or a Gap on every corner. And then there was the food! Every place seemed better than the last, and there was no way to pick a favorite! We arrived 1/2 hour late for the tour. Our contact was actually on the street with our group, and GRACIOUSLY came to the meeting location and took us to meet our group. How awesome was that? I couldn't say thank you enough. Cindy told me they had sold our pizza slices (the first sample), but saved us a rice ball from Faicco's which were just sublime. The next time we visit NYC, we will definitely use Zerve for another walking tour. Hands down, it was the best experience I could have asked for. I think this is event should be on everyone's "must do" list when they visit NYC. Looking forward to another visit!

Wonderful walking tour

It was my wife's second time on the tour but for three of us our first time. My wife enjoyed it more than the first time. I have lived in NYC area for ten years but never really understood the Greenwich Village area. This tour accomplished that and also introduced us to many wonderful restaurents and eating experiences we will come back to explore further. Thanks for a great afternoon.

Great tour with very fun, informative tour guide. What a neat way to to spend a day in the city. Friends enjoy delicious foods, obtain interesting tidbits about the area restaurants and inhabitants, and walk around viewing the beautiful architecture. Great gift for a foodie friend.

Our tour guide was funny as hell. Quick wit and dry sense of humour - remembered everyone's name. Wealth of knowledge about the sites/food places and was willing to spend the time to offer additional info/answer questions at the end of the tour. Was a memorable birthday for my husband and we can't wait to take another culinary tour

Worth the money without a doubt!

I thought this tour was incredible! I was with a group of friends and every single one of us enjoyed the tour. The amount of food that you get was way more then enough. Our tour guide, Sefra, was amazing also. There is not much that you can do in NYC that includes food and takes 3 hours for the little amount of money that this tour cost. I would recommed this to any group of people looking for something to do whether you live in the city or not.

Loved the tour through the west village. Our guide Zefra was fantastic and the perfect mix of funny and knowledgeable. I expected to get a bite of risotto & a piece of cookie, but we left the tour full and very satisfied. Delicious -can't wait to try tours in other parts of the city.

Our tour of Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District was wonderful. Our guide, Bob, provided a wealth of information about the history of the area and its development, with lots of interesting facts. The food tastings were plentiful, and all were very, very good. More than enough food for even the hungriest person for lunch. We highly recommend the tour and our tour guide.

Eating our way through NYC
Sat, Dec 12, 09   12:00 PM Duquean Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
This was our second food tour through Food Tours of New York. We had learned so much about the history, culture, food and architecture of the area, that we decided that it would become part of our annual trip. The Central Village/SOHO food tour was even better than the Greenwich Village tour! We really enjoyed the diversity of food ethnicities within this tour. Our tour guide, Rahmand, was clearly passionate about both the food places we visited, and the areas in which we walked. I especially appreciate the attentiveness he took to my personal dietary needs as a pregnant women with specific food allergies. I don't feel like I missed out on any tasting, as he was kind enough to make great substitutions. Our last night in the city we ate at a restaurant that was on the tour, Bella Vitae. Amazing! Thanks for the recommendation, and for another amazing food tour! We will be back again next year for another area, and more eating.
