Foods of New York Tours

I was so unexpectedly surprised by this tour. I never eat cheese, expect on pizza, and yet this tour fed me three dishes with cheese (one one just cheese and tomatoes) and I loved it all. I literally cannot pick a favorite dish I tried on the tour. Our tour guide, Rahim, was an excellend tour guide and was very knowledgeable and nice. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We had a wonderful time walking around the village and Soho and learned so much about the architecture, the restuarants and the food. The tour guide was personable, knowledgable and kept things moving at a terrific pace. The sample foods were delicious and the overall experience was one we would recommend highly to friends and family. Thank you for a great time.

Our guide provided a feel for the real New York (at least in the Greenwich Village area). His knowledge of the area, and its history and people was exceptional. The tastings were all wonderful, and represented a wide variety of ethnic and local foods. In addition to the scheduled tasting stops he introduced us to several other local food vendors. This was an enjoyable and educational way to spend 3 hours in the city.

A very pleasant stroll around the village punctuated with various tasty treats meaning there was no need for a separate lunch. Very informative guide who is obviously passionate about her job and her neighbourhood. Superb insight into the preparation and the ingredients and interspersed various foodie tips that are relevant day to day anywhere. I would certainly do this tour again.

This was my 3rd tour with the same company. This should really tell it all. Great way to get to know the Village. I discovered streets that I didn't know and many places intend to go back to. Food was good, Marie did a great job, my guest was very impressed and I had a great time.

This was such a great time! The food, the information, fellow tourists and of course our tour guide Marie all unforgettable .

We had a fun day....our group was a good combination of people. We had Kurt in the past and he was VERY entertaining, our guide this time was informative but not entertaining.

My husband and I received tour tickets as a holiday gift. What a great gift idea and wonderful way to spend a day in Greenwich Village. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly and funny. The venues were interesting and the food samples delicious. PS The booking agents were most accommodating and helpful.

The guide was enthusiastic and shared a diverse knowledge. The length of tour was very good, well paced and a good spread of different types of food. Excellent

This was one of the best experiences we had in NYC. The Guide was informative and funny, loved all of the background and historical information. And, the food was absolutely fabulous! We visited shops that we likely may have passed by and purchased delicious gifts to take back home. My 82 year old Mother, 17 year old Daughter and I all had a terrific time proving that it is a great activity for a wide range of age groups.

My Mom and I went on this tour and had a wonderful time. Our guide was very informative, enthusiastic, friendly and made the tour absolutely fantastic (I forgot his name! He has red hair). The tastings were good but would have liked to have more substantial tastings...skip the salt and oil tastings and replace perhaps with meats from that store we visited. Left feeling very full and happy! Highly recommended!!!

Beyond the fun of trying all of the food, Rahim (sp?) was extremely knowledgeable about Greenwich Village. We had so much fun learning about all of the different reasons for the various architecture, hideouts, restaurants, theatres, etc. The reason for the term "86'd" and Barbara Streisand's first job at Cherry Lane Theatre. We went back to Roccos before we left NYC to pick up some goodies for the road. I would highly recommend this tour to ANYONE! My sister and I (in our 50's) had sooo much fun, it was 3 hours of dynamic information filled with good food from the most wonderful little joints in Greenwich.

Our tour guide was great!!! Knew a lot about the area and made it very fun for everyone in our group. The tour was a great way to plan where we wanted to eat and hang out!!! Highly recommend this tour.

My daughter and I took this tour and we had a great time. We got to sample a lot of great food and we saw some really unique places. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and fun, and I think it's fair to say that everyone in our group enjoyed it. We are definitely planning to take a tour of a different area in NYC from Foods of New York on our next trip. We will bring my wife and my other daughter next time!

Fabulous tour! Barri was an excellent communicator particularly with respect to the history of the village! As she stated...I want you to feel that you are excited to dine and explore the area! ...On my next trip to NYC, I will definitely go to many of the fun places to dine/buy! Did I mention that the food was scrumptious!!!!
