Not to be missed!

It rained during our entire walking tour, but the rain did not take much away from the wonderful experience we had. We are a little familiar with the area, or so we thought .... Our guide Rahim was perfect. He knew so much about the area and talked about it with a lot of knowledge and I would say passion. A great sence of humour, too. Everything we tried was so tasty. There was a lot of variety and EVERYTHING was delicious. We ended up retracking our steps and visiting a couple of places after the tour and sampling their food (wonderful tarts and some more of the amazing sausage, which came back home with us). We have made a note of a few places for our future visits ... You think you know the area and then you go on a tour like this .....

Our tour guide was perfect, we met up with six crazy family members in New York, this was the best place to start our week of enjoying family, we share your tour with everyone. I am looking forward to doing the China Town & Seafood Tour soon, with our same guide.... or we no can do, he was just simply a great inspiration to us all.

A MUST

We were foreigners on our honeymoon in New York. The tour opened our eyes to a whole new New York in the Village. The food, the history, the winding streets everything evoked a romantic atmosphere. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, very kind, specially to my wife who barely speaks English. In fact it was so good that we are making plans to come back next year for another week in the Village. We recommend this tour to everyone. 5 out 5 stars

Fascinating visit to Greenwich Village
Thu, Nov 13  11:30 AM SusanEleanor Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
This tour allowed us (two couples) to glimpse life in Greenwich Village in the present and in the past. The shops were fascinating; the foods were delicious; the narrative very interesting; and all within easy walking distance of one another. Our guide knew the history, knew the recipes, introduced us to the shops and foods, and kept us moving at an enjoyable pace. The small size of the tour group was helpful in hearing the guide, and squeezing into small shops and restaurants.

A worthwhile experience

We've visited NYC many times, but this was our first walking food tour. Marie, our guide was prompt, efficient, friendly, and so informative. She seemed to enjoy her work and had many interesting tips to offer about the area. It was definitely both a food and cultural tour!! Although it was a rainy day, she managed to find intriguing places for us to duck into on occasions. Having the option of returning to some of the food sites and buying products at a discount was a nice bonus! We especially loved the olive oil company and the cheese shop. All the tastings were good, and we did not leave the tour hungry. Think we'd love to go back to the area for a longer stay....all because of this tour.

Informative overview of a lovely area of NYC
Thu, Nov 13  11:00 AM suelegge Female 40-49 International Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Despite the weather we had a lovely time with Marie, our guide, very friendly and informative. Saw parts of Greenwich village that we really would not have wandered into and the food tastings were a welcome addition. Would recommend and use this company to book other tours for different areas.

Would recommend to others

We enjoyed our tour greatly, even members of our group who are not usually "group event people." The tour moved at the right pace and included a number of interesting food destinations. One awkward moment was when the tour guide (who was otherwise excellent) gave a pretty ham-handed plug to Le Gigot. It was pretty clearly a staged advertisement. Plus, describing the place as rustic, traditional French cuisine and then going on about how great their Maryland lump crabcakes are was weird. Still, a very good tour that I would recommend without reservation to others. Stop highlights: Joe's Pizza Centro Vinoteca Faicco's Murray's Cornelia St. Cafe Palma Less great: O & Co. k

alternate way to view greenwich village
Wed, Nov 12  11:00 AM niamhcahalan Female 30-39 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
I really enjoyed the food tour in greenwich village on wed nov 12th 2008. The variety of food was very good and the portion sizes were more than adequate to substitute for lunch. Tour guide Barri was enthusiastic and very informative. Its well worth the money. I'm planning on doing a different food tour when I go back to NY plus will be recommending it to family and friends.

Great Tour
Tue, Nov 11  12:00 PM karen1103 Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
The tour was a balanced mix of food tasting and sightseeing. Since some of the tastings were in establishments, it was an opportunity to relax, be waited on and be able to get off your feet for a bit during the three hour walk.ing tour. The tour guide was well informed, and very personable.

Different than the other food tours

I have done other walking food tours in NY. Not nearly as much walking on this tour - actually get to sit down at two decent restaurants. Got to sample some authentic food and there was plenty! Tour guide (Ramon I think his name was) was excellent and very knowledgeable. He was savvy to the area and had an excellent understanding of Chinese culture. Very personable!!

A Must do!!

We had Raheem as our Chinatown Tour Guide. He is very gifted in what he does and is very enthusiastic and very informed about what he describes on the tour. We saw several restaurants and experienced chinese food that I NEVER would have tried on my own. The Dim Sum, the Peking Duck and the Egg Custard were supurb! We want to do the Greenwich Village tour next. We had done Soho before this. They are just great fun and a great way to visit the city piece by piece and enjoy the different cultures it consists of.

Excellent experience! Great tour guide.

Not only did we have wonderful food, but we learned so much about the specific foods we were eating....learned a little history of the food, culture and area. The examples of some the "etiquette" were, and will be, particularly helpful. Our tour guide was very knowlegeable, easy to hear and listen to. Our food was delayed at the place where we started, but it did not affect the overall experience.

My sister and I had a great time. The food was fun. The info our guide, Cindy, gave us was extremely interesting. She also had a lot of energy, the time went too fast. We would definitely do another tour, especially by Cindy.
