| Highly recommended...! Diana, our tour guide, was fun and knowledgable about the area, its history, architecture and stories. Food was fantastic. Learned more in three hours that I would have if I had hung around Greewich Village for three months. | ||||||

| There is so much to say so I'll be brief - first, Bob is a NYC treasure! The love of his city, lovely Manhattan, comes through. His joy comes through in every sentence. He's done that tour many times, yet somehow it was if he took us on a journey with him - he is so enthusiastic. Please ask for "Bob" - he made our day! His knowledge of 'nuggets' of historical insight into the buildings and the why/where is fascinating. As to the tour itself, Chelsea Market is beautiful. We found out about the tour by accident while viewing Tripadvisor.com. We never heard of a 'food tour'; definitely a hidden secret. Well, it was hands-down the BEST thing we did in the entire 5 days of the visit to NYC. Next time, we are doing at least 2 food tours; maybe Little Italy & another one. I loved the easy online checkout to buy the tour online by Zerve, and I also loved the helpful customer service who helped me when I called. Chelsea is a MUST do tour. Biggest kudo - my brother who visits NYC weekly for work from Canada said to me over dinner at Chelsea (we invited him to meet us at CraftSteak in the Chelsea area that we learned about through the tour) - well he said to us "Wow, you guys know more about the Chelsea and Meat Packing area than I do!". We came away from the tour feeling like NATIVES. To Bob's credit, we went back to that area 2 more times before we left. Each day we pigged out at "Lobster Place". We are from Florida and lobster is everywhere - well we though this was the best lobster, and sushi we'd had in a longgg time! We would highly recommend the Chelsea tour. Become a NYC insider! You will walk away knowing more than most New Yorkers about that little area. Manhattan's little areas are always reinventing themselves, so as a tourist, you have to be daring and be willing to peek inside that marvelous city; forget doing the standard stuff "Oh, let's go see Time Square". I've seen it, but I had never seen Chelsea like that. The last restaurant on our tour where we had "Oxtail Ragu" floored us. We had NEVER had a dish that creamy! We are attempting to make it here at home in our kitchen. Another interesting note - we took our 19 month old child with us and she was antsy here and there but I thought the food was enough to soothe her; she and I shared the food (I eat very, very little), and she loved the gourmet food. I loveeeed the food. I loveeed the history. I loveed the Highline. So, I feel that you could do the tour w/ a toddler or older WITH A STROLLER to hold him or her; there's a lot of walking. Bring comfortable shoes; wear comfortable, seasonally appropriate clothing! I would go on the tour again actually with BOB. Funny, there was one native NYC gal who brought her visiting cousins to the tour, she was on the tour two weeks prior and was there again. We also sat next to another native. I feel that MOST natives miss out on this; they think its touristy, but its NOT. Many New Yorks don't know this area either and its quite interesting!!! GO! GO! | ||||||

| I highly recommend going on the food tour. Wasn't sure what to expect when I signed up for the tour but was pleasantly suprised what we did. There where about 15 in our group from all over the country and Canada. They were all so nice, laughing and telling a little about themselves. Then came Bob, the group tour guide. He was so informative about the food, the history of the neighborhood, and the sites around us, and a great sense of humor. I was full by the end of the tour. I have already told everyone I know about it. | ||||||

| The group consisted of work colleagues, and we thoroughly enjoyed the tasting as well as learning about the history of the area. Several of those who attended talked about planning another tasting tour in the future with friends. Marie was great and the tour was well-paced. | ||||||

| What a wonderful way to get to know The Village! The food was varied and enough to constitute a full meal. Our guide was knowledgeable and fun. It was like having a trusted friend take you on a stroll through her neighborhood. We highly recommend this tour. | ||||||

| We had never been to Chelsea before, and the Chelsea Market is truly something to see, if you've never been. It was very interesting to see the shops & learn about the proprietors. As always, our guide Curt was incredibly funny, informative, and entertaining - he really is a seasoned pro! We have taken the Greenwich Village tour also, and liked it a bit better than this one. But perhaps only because this tour was conducted mainly inside the Chelsea Market and we would have preferred being outside more. However, we had a great time and plan to take the Central Village tour next time! | ||||||

| The tour of Chelsea Market and the Meat Packing area was great! Our tour guide Bob is a real professional who provided the group with much information and insight into the area. All of the food tastings were very good. We were introduced to many of the specialty markets and restraunts in the area. I highly recommend this tour for the price and for the informative and fun event. | ||||||

| The 3 hour tour had a great combination of learning about the culture and the variety of food available in the area. A fair amount of walking was done and a good portion of the tour was outside, so dress carefully for whatever weather is predicted for that day. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in Greenwich Village area and wants to see what is offered there. | ||||||

The Chelsea Market Tour

| My wife and I were pleased to hear about the history of the Chelsea Market, (the old Nabisco plant). Our tour guide was very energetic and new all the information there is to know about the community. Very interesting architecture in the building and its surroundings. The food samples were tasty (but didn't fill you up), and they can accomodate you when you sign up for the tour. My suggestion is to ask for a goody bag for the dessert and eat it later. There are some famous bakers', chefs' and other famous people that have businesses there. You just never know who will get to see. | ||||||

| We travel to NYC about twice a year and had never done a tour like this before. Was even better than we had imagined. Lots of great food and interesting insights. As well as a historical look at New York City's Meat Packing neighborhood. Our tour guide, Darryl, went above and beyond the usual tour. (We enjoyed surveying the windows of the Strand Hotel.) Would recommend a tour like this to virtually any foodie, or person interested in New York history. | ||||||
