A great tour. Great value. Will do another.

We really enjoyed the combination of food knowledge and local history on the tour. Bob, our guide, was personable, friendly, and knowledgeable - he did a terrific job of giving us an overview of the history of the area and how the market fit into that. Food and tastings were great, it was a treat to see Sarabeth (of Sarabeth's Bakery) in action while we were there. Highly recommended for anyone interested in Food and New York City. Looking forward to trying one of the other food tours.

What could be better? Great food and stories

We had a terrific time! Didn't realize most of the tour would be inside in one building but that turned out to be a plus since the weather was rainy. Our guide, Daryl, was an actor with a flair who made all of his stories interesting and catchy. The whole experience was well worthwhile. Just don't plan on eating for several hours afterwards.

We were encouraged to take in a food tour while making plans for our vacation in New York City. We were pleased with our decision and had a great time. Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. This was a great way to learn about the area and sample some of the food associated with that region of the city.

We ambled through the Chelsea Food Market (old Nabisco plant). Our guide knew a great deal about the bullding's history, art, etc. We tasted many different foods, then did a tour of the HighLine park (abbreviated because or a rain storm), and had a final "sit-down" tasting at a very nice Italian restaurant in the district. This was a very good tour, enhanced by an exceptional guide.

Wonderful Experience!

My 16 year old daughter and I really enjoyed this tour - so much so, that we returned to Greenwich the next day for a full meal at one of the places we visited! The history of the area in addition to the information about the restaurants/food was entertaining. Our guide kept us chuckling with his animated story telling. The quantity of food was more than enough - we were stuffed by the time the tour was over! I would recommend this for anyone, but especially those who are timid about venturing out of the Times Square area and want to become familiar with the other areas of the City. We plan to do another tour of another neighborhood next time we visit.

EXCELLENT TOUR!

This was one of the best tours I have ever taken. Our guide, Kurt, was excellent. Not only did he give a great tour with interesting tips, but he gave us history of the area, people and buildings along the way. The restaurants we visited were amazing with delicious & generous portions of their specialties. We went back and had lunch and dinner at a few of the places and were not disappointed. This tour is a must if you enjoy food & history. It'll give you a new perspective on this unique neighborhood.

Fabulous

I did the tour with my teenage son which was hosted by the lovely Bari (female). She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The tour was fantastic. We had about 8 food tastings of very sizeable portions although we visited many more places - you won't leave hungry. Although a 3 hours tour the time passed really quickly and very little distance was actually covered so you needn't be an athlete to partake. Would recommend doing this tour early in your trip so you get plenty of opportunity to re-visit your favourite restaurants and shops. It was fascinating to learn about the history of the area too. This has got to be one of the best value, fun tours to do in NYC. Highly recommended. Can't wait to revisit and do their Chelsea Market & Meat Packing District tour. One couple had done the Greenwich |Village tour 3 times which speaks volume. Thanks Bari, we had a blast. Hope to see you soon.

I suggest to take this tour early in your trip, so you can go back and enjoy some of the places for dinner. You leave the tour full, so returning immediately is not an option. Fun and entertaining.

the groups are kept small, so you really get the personalized attention. Bert was my guide, he was very knowledgable about alot of different things. they say u won't leave hungry, which you won't but you will want to go eat at all the places you just learned about. i would do this trip again in a heartbeat!

Another fantastic Foods of New York tour.

This is my 4th tour with Food of NY - I think they are a fantastic way to experience the different neighbourhoods away from the "usual" tourist scene. Rahim was excellent (and Bert too!), and the food tastings were great. My 16 year old cousin had a fantastic time with the group so it can be a suitable outing for teenagers as well. We ended up going back to one of the restaurants with the rest of our group a couple of days later - excellent ideas for places to eat.

7th Foods of NY tour... can't wait for the next

AS it says above, this was my 7th Foods of NY tour... the first for the Chinatown tour. It did not disappoint at all. It is different from the others in that there is less history and more food time, and the food for the most part is sit-down and service... it was explained, and makes sense, that this is what is the best for this part of NY. The food was fabulous from start to finish, and quite a lot. And again, it had us trying restaurants that we most probably would not have done on our own. There is history and explanation of the area, and that was informative and very interesting. We had Rajim as our tour guide, and he has a wonderful way to give the background and facts while always being entertaining and easy to follow. We highly recommend this tour, as well as all of the Foods of NY tours...

Spent a long weekend in NYC and this was my favorite activity. My friend's boss recommended the tour to us. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The food tastings were delish! And I appreciated learning the history of the neighborhood and fun cooking tips. The guide has a genuine interest in the neighborhood and sharing her knowledge with us.
