Terrific Tour

Our daughter gave us a gift certificate for the Greenwich Village tour. It was a great gift. Our tour guide Bert was fantastic. He was very knowledgable and entertaining as well. The food tastings were good and varied. We learned a lot about food (olive oil in particular) and we now have a new cauliflower recipe to make. It was so interesting to learn about the history and architecture of the neighborhood and because of Bert we now have new restaurants and a new theatre to check out - Cherry Lane. It was a wonderful three hours. We have friends that would absolutely love this tour given by Bert. And we will recommend it to them. In fact, we plan on asking some friends to join us on the Nolita tour in the fall. Hats off to Bert!!!

Best Tour Ever

This was my second time taking this tour and I loved it just as much the second time as I did the first. Our guide Bert was the best - always helpful, full of information and even gave us recipes, and was funny too - Bert you are the best!! There was a wonderful variation of foods we tasted and places we went to. We came hungry and left stuffed! The shops and restaurants were within a small area so there wasn't that much walking to be done. The food we had was so delicious you always wanted more. I have been on two other of their tours, Little Italy and Chelsea Market which were also great but this one is my favorite. Walking through the streets of Greenwich Village was so nice seeing and learning about the history of the homes and the area. It's such an adorable little neighborhood to actually walk around and see how lovely it is. The residents do local shopping and the stores make purchases from each other - nice to keep it all in the neighborhood. We ate apps, main dishes and of course desserts. After the tour we went back to some of the shops and purchased some items. The store's employees were so friendly and gave us some pointers of various products and cooking. A great day in NYC and a wonderful tour. I highly recommend it!

A Great Overview of an Historic District

Come hungry - very hungry. The food stops were varied, interesting and all good. From Italian pasta to an Indian wrap to a fabulous French sweet. The guide, Susan, was very knowledgable and encouraged questions. We were given an overview of the history of the heart of the Village. We learned about the architecture of the area as well as about some of the famous celebrities who frequented the clubs and restaurants of the Village. Three hours was a long time but we got to sit during some of the food stops - which was a welcome respite from the heat. Two highlights were the Porto Rico Importing Co - a coffee store that had the largest variety of beans I have seen - and Sullivan Street tea & spice company which equaled Porto Rico in its tea offerings. Wear comfortable walking shoes! Enjoy.

We loved every part of our Nolita tour! Our tour guide was fantastic - She was always adding special little tidbits and facts not to mention that every place we ate was AMAZING! We are hooked on Food Tours for the combination of fun facts of the area, walking (to help with all the tastings:), and the variety of foods you get to try - not to mention the booklet of recommended restaurants in the area! I would definitely recommend this tour when in the city!!

Our tour guide was filled with information about Central Greenwich Village. My favorite place was the Porto Rico Import Co - Coffee Shop, as you opened the door you could just smell the aroma of all those coffee beans. What a grand experience and a great opportunity to learn a little about the culture of New York City, a must do tour if you love food followed by a bit of culture.

Excellent food and enough history and cultural context to give an introduction to the Village. Highly recommended.

So much Fun and Great NY Flavor

This is just such a great tour of one of NY's best district -- the Meat Packing District . The tour has great NY history, Chelsea Market is so much fun for shopping, etc. and to see what Cohen did with this historical Nabisco plant is just fantastic. You get a great mix of indoor/outdoor and our tour guide, Cindy was just fabulous -- filled with a great sense of humor, tons of NY personality and very, very knowledgable. The food portion of the tour of equal if not better value -- from vinegar and salt tastings to biscuits and jams, hams, cheeses, and even full bolognese plate! You won't be disappointed... take the tour. We're native NYers and we loved it, including my two teenage kids!

This tour ranks among the top tours we have taken anywhere! Our guide, Sephera (sp), was fantastic - she was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, smart and funny. She kept the group on track and on time, which is not always easy. The food purveyors we visited were varied and fun and the food was marvelous. By the end of 3 hours we were full of food and of information. We would do this again and would highly recommend it to anyone heading to NYC!

My daughter and I took the train from CT just for the food tour. It was worth it!!! Curt our guide was entertaining and full of knowledge regarding the area and the wide variety of foods we tasted. Everything we had was delicious. I would recommend this to all....locals as well as tourists. Our last tasting was a fabulous chocolate dessert accompanied by prosecco.. Yum..my daughter didn't want it to end. She was the last to leave the table

Lots of tasting which was good but I particularly enjoyed when our guide pointed out architectural details that I would have otherwise missed. Tour provides a sense of that particular part of the neighbourhood. Guide, Sephra, was friendly, informative and fun. As a solo participant, I appreciated that she made me feel a part of the group vis a vis seating.
