Awesome, Interesting, and the food was amazing to

Our tour guide was filled with information about Central Greenwich Village. My favorite place was the Porto Rico Import Co - Coffee Shop, as you opened the door you could just smell the aroma of all those coffee beans. What a grand experience and a great opportunity to learn a little about the culture of New York City, a must do tour if you love food followed by a bit of culture.

Annie greeted us enthusiastically and remembered all of our names with just one ask...she was delightful and really looked after everyone. I would highly recommend this tour. i learned just the right amount of history combined with tasting wonderful food and visiting restaurants i would otherwise not know about. for 49 dollars, it's a steal..and annie sang to us at the end. priceless.

Lots of tasting which was good but I particularly enjoyed when our guide pointed out architectural details that I would have otherwise missed. Tour provides a sense of that particular part of the neighbourhood. Guide, Sephra, was friendly, informative and fun. As a solo participant, I appreciated that she made me feel a part of the group vis a vis seating.

Very educational tour with a well informed guide

Although this tour is a bit more expensive than other food tours, it is well worth it. We had food served to us in 3 different restaurants while we were seated. Most delicious was the dim sum experience and the Peking duck experience. We will go back to those restaurants and the others that are recommended in the program brochure handed out to us. The 3rd restaurant was most educational -- a Malaysian restaurant. We will go back to try new things. Our "dessert" was a stand-up affair with samples passed on a tray. The guide's knowledge as we walked the streets and stopped by shops was outstanding.

First time on a food tour

This was my first visit to NYC and my first walking food tour. What a fabulous way to learn about the neighborhood (Nolita and NoHo). I went solo because my husband was at a conference, but after he was done for the weekend I took him through the tour and enjoyed it all over again. Bert was so great explaining the history and describing the food - he really enjoys his work!! And food!! We went to places that I probably would not have - like the Little Cupcake Bakeshop on Prince but I returned to get a generous slice of the Brooklyn Blackout Cake. At Tacombi the group enjoyed esquites (roasted corn with a sauce) and I returned to get the fish tacos and watch a world cup game - that was fun. I enthusiastically recommend this tour.

Best eating tour yet.

My friend and I have taken 2 other eating tours with Foods of NY before but I think this one was the best so far. The portions were sizable and satisfying. The food tasted amazing( especially the Peking Duck) and our guide Bert was full of historical and gastronomical facts. He clearly loves food and NY. Great day.

So great is this tour that I continue to bring friends and overseas visitors back again and again. Not only are the food tastings delicious but the cultural aspect is undeniably informative. Robyn was a delightful tour guide and made the experience all the better. I am a New Yorker but had lived in Sydney, Australia for 12 years and I was lucky enough this tour to be paired with about 10 other Australians which made it all the better...Thank you Foods of New York for another great experience.

The perfect way to discover Greenwich Village

We've gone down to the Village before, but never knew what to do or where to eat. This tour was perfect! Food and history and a walk around the neighborhood. If you're lucky enough to have Sephrah as your guide, you feel like you're going around to visit with friends of a friend. We plan to do a different Foods of New York tour every year when we go up to NYC. It is the perfect way to spend a late spring morning. I can't wait to go back and re-visit some of these restaurants, too.( you get coupons!)

Best food tour and guide in NYC

I can't not recommend this tour enough! Our guide, BERT, was amazingly organized, funny, and informative. We have taken several tours in NYC, and this has been our most memorable one yet. Bert was so easy to talk to and also walked us through the crowded streets of Greenwich Village in such an organized way - he even stopped traffic for us: "I'll block the cars, you just watch for the bikes," as he said. Bert obviously had a good rapport with the restaurant staff, since they were thrilled to see him and welcomed us every time. I would recommend this tour to ANYONE visiting or living in NYC! In fact, we will probably take it again when we return - as long as we can have Bert as our tour guide!

The NOHO food tour was definitely a highlight of my daughter's and my 1st time to NYC! We sampled amazing food and what made it especially enjoyable was our fabulous guide, Annie! Her passion for food and the history of New York made this tour so memorable. She is a gem and I would certainly recommend this tour to any foodie travelling to NYC! Next time we visit, we will definitely be booking a couple more food tours with this company!!!

I went on a Greenwich Village Food and Culture tour last Saturday with Marie. She was very well informed and since she had lived in the area, her insight was invaluable. All the tastings were very good portions and delicious. I unfortunately, had to leave 30 minutes early to catch a show (Marie...I made it and it was brilliant!)..but was so full by then that missing the last couple of tastings was not too bad. I look forward to a return to New York and taking another tour. They do a great job!!
