I am a part time resident, and this is one of the best things I have done in NYC.

The young man leading us was very knowlegeable about Japanese food and customs. The food was delicious and so was the saki! I would visit this particular restaurant again and possibly participant in another event in the future! Thank you for a great night.

The tour guide, a local man, had excellent knowledge of the area and its history and was very familiar with the locals, who chatted to us openly and didn't treat us like a 'tour group'. The food tasting was excellent, and the guide ensured that everything we tried was very fresh and requested our feedback regularly. I was very full by the end of the tour. It was such a shame that we did this on our last day and didn't have a chance to try out any of the recommended restaurants (for which we received money-off vouchers and offers). The only problem is that there can be a fair amount of standing about while listening to the stories and sampling the food items and this can be quite tiring (and straining on the back!) I'm definately going to look out for something like this on every trip I take now.

8 girls, 1 action packed visit to NYC, and out of the 30 things I had planned (up rockafella, grand central etc etc etc) this was by far the best activity we did. Total bargain for the price, and the food and experience. You will not be disappointed. Really intersting without feeling like your on a school trip, loads of anecdotes and great great food. Cindy our guide was hillarious, knowledgeable and just so lovely. Coud not recommend this tour anymore. Book it !

Food was excellent, small portions, did not fill me up, wife was full. Guide was great and very knowing of the area, excellent talking tour.

My sister-in-law and I just took the West Village tour. It was beyond expectation! We were prepared for great food, but were pleasantly surprised by the educational aspect of the tour. Interesting historical and cultural tidbits were a highlight. We can't wait to come back to NYC and take another tour. Our goal is to do all of them, and we wish there were more offered in other parts of the city. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

I've heard a lot about the food walking tours so I expected to have a good time but this is indescribable. My husband and I had a wonderful time! The food was amazing and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable. We had such a good time that we actually went back to the area the following night with my cousins to go bar hopping and stopped at Joe's pizza (one of the stops on the food walking tour) for a late night bite. I definitely recommend this experience to all!

Tour guide has a great personality

I was hesitant about going on a tour particularly because I spend two-thirds of my life working in the city. Nonetheless, it was well worth it! My wife and I were tired of the mundane outings, so we decided to take our friends advice and give it a try. Forget about all those preconceived notions about "tours." This is far more than just a tour! It will change your whole view of Manhanttan

This tour was one of the highlights of our 5 day stay in NYC. It was so much fun and our tour guide, Sephrah was so informative AND entertaining. I just wished I could have had her show me the rest of NYC as she was that funny and entertaining! It was never a dull moment! Even though we probably only traveled a few blocks the tour covered a world of food. We definitely did not need to eat a meal afterwards. I also loved the variety of shops and food that the tour covered. All of the food tastings were delicious! And last but not least, I loved the discussion of Greenwich Village and its history & architecture that Sephrah presented. I cannot recommend this tour enough!! My next NYC visit will definitely include another tour by Foods of NY tours. Loved it!!

Our guide (R__) was very knowledgeable and entertaining as well as a NY native who shared boyhood stories and family traditions. Tastings were so abundant that even dinner could be skipped. We learned about not only food preparation and ingredients, but also history of the neighborhoods and family establishments that have been in existence for decades. This is truly a good way to experience neighborhood living (away from the normal touristy celebrity chef promos). This is our second NYC food tour with this company and we recommend them highly.

We loved this tour. We wanted to learn about one of the neighborhoods of NYC and this was exactly what we were looking for. Our guide, Raheem, was so full of facts and history and he had so much enthusiasm for the different foods we tried. He took us to perfect places to sample many different outstanding foods and each was so very unique. The cheesecake we sampled was our favorite. We can't wait to return to New York City to take another tour of a different neighborhood. Would highly recommend this tour group to everyone!
