The best tour we've ever taken!
Thu, Mar 7  10:30 AM CharlotteSan Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
I was recommended by a friend from New York to take this tour. I'm not a believer in tours because most are over quickly, rush you around and nothing more than you could get going alone. Wow, were we surprised. First of all we are before the tour thinking the food would be minimal. Big mistake. They fed us so much at each lovely storefront that we were stuffed for the entire day. The tour guide Kurt was brilliant, well versed in every location and we continued to shake our heads in disbelief at his wit, charm and continuos dialogue of information about the city! We especially enjoyed all of his additional stories about each location we visited and how he never missed a beat going above and beyond to make us all comfortable, informed and certainly full. The food was a fabulous mix of everything from Italian, pastries, wine, fresh meats, you name it and all in the beautiful old building with so much history and architecture. This was worth the time and actually the best part of our visit to New York. Next year we will take one of their other tours! Charlotte, Linda and Katherine.

entertaining, interesting, delicious! I have taken many food tours and this is really one of the best, especially on a cold or hot day because a lot of it is inside.

Exceptional tour!

This tour was much more than expected. Our tour guide, Kurt was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the Chelsea food market, the shops we visited, the food we sampled -- and he remembered everyone's name! We took this tour just to have something to do on a bad weather day, but felt very lucky we chose this particular tour, and highly recommend it, no matter what the weather!

Great way to learn about your own neighborhood
Wed, Mar 6  11:00 AM cinthyamohr Female 30-39 Local Group of Friends
Our tour guide was fantastic. Barry was very knowledgeable about the neighborhood's history and of each of the restaurant's owner and history. It was really interesting and cool to learn so much about NY's history and why things are the way they are today. As a New Yorker, I really enjoyed every story and fact she shared. One of my friends lives in the neighborhood and was fascinated by everything we learned. Great tour, totally recommend it!

Foods of NY continues to impress. Have been on a few tours in the past and all were terrific. Cindy was our tour guide and she was amazing. Great energy. Great sense of humor. Passion for food and life. Gave us all some terrific ideas. The food was crazy good, will definitely frequent the restaurants and shops in our travels into the city. The meatball and cannoli were among the best we've ever tasted. We'll be back. Oh, and Cindy was a JETS fan so she's got that going for her as well!

Great way to see the city!

The Greenwich Village Tour was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to New York. Our tour guide Cindy was fantastic - entertaining, knowledgeable, and extremely personable. She went out of her way to make sure that everyone was happy and comfortable. All of the food tastings were excellent and really painted a cultural picture of the neighborhood. I felt like we got a good sense of what that little pocket of the city is like, and I only wish we could have spent more time there. The tour provided a smart balance of historic information, trivia tidbits, and (of course) food! I wish that we would have taken this tour closer to the beginning of our stay so that we could have taken more advantage of the restaurant recommendations that the tour provided. Next time we are in New York, we will definitely go on another Foods of New York Tour!

It was a great tour. I had a newly broken ankle and Sephra totally watched out for me and made sure it was a great experience in my miserable condition! If a tour guide can do that for you, you can be sure this tour will exceed your expectations! This tour has it all : great food, great fun, just the right amount of everything!

Everything was great. We had a nice sampling of foods from the neighborhood. It was a good selection of food and variety of restaurants. There was a nice tour of the area and we also learned some local history. Our guide (Sephra) was awesome; knowledgeable, funny, thoroughly engaged with the group. She worked very hard to make sure we enjoyed the experience

Susan met us with a smile that she had the entire tour. She patiently and fluidly took us through the history of Central Greenwich, which we appreciated. HIghlights of the tour: Cafe Dante's sandwich, Rabbits, Curry Tomato Soup, Masala Times Indian rolls w/ scrambled eggs and the sweet men @ Sullivan Street Tea and Spice (they shared a tea sample and were very engaging) No changes or alterations needed. Really, such a fun experience for this Wisconsin couple who makes New York their home one month each year.

Sun, Mar 3  11:00 AM kcorea Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
A huge thank you to Bert for helping make our first trip to NYC a great one. The tour of Greenwich was awesome. Bert was extremely personable and professional and displayed an enthusiasm for his job that was infectious. We learned so much and enjoyed his company and conversation. I would definitely recommend the Food Tours of NY and Bert. I will be asking for him next time I visit. Bert, if you are reading this, I hope you will get to conduct tours of other areas of NY. Thanks again. We really enjoyed it but are missing the rice balls from Faiccos! KC from Indianapolis

This was our 2nd Foods of NYC tour (we did the Chelsea Market tour in March '12). We thoroughly enjoyed the Greenwich tour, our guide Marie was fantastic. Great food and lots of interesting facts and neighborhood history. We'll definitely do another Foods of NYC tour next year.
