One of my mother's coworkers took a Foods of New York tour a few years ago and loved it, so when my mom and I went to New York City we decided to try the Greenwich Village tour. Definitely a good decision! Our guide, Kurt (or Curt - not sure which way he spells it, sorry!), was absolutely wonderful - energetic, fun, friendly, and very knowledgeable. We had a great time, learned a lot about the history and culture of the Village, and enjoyed sampling the delicious foods. :) Next time we come to New York, I'm definitely planning to try one of the other food tours (although to be honest, I wouldn't mind doing this one again!). I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in the food/culture/history of the area...and even if you don't fit that description yet, you probably will by the end of the tour! |

What a great time was had during our Village/SoHo Food tour! Our tour guide Susan was awesome and had some wonderful stories and tidbits to share along with the historic piece that definitely added character to all the food we tasted! I would do this again and again! I would strongly recommend this culture tour to anyone interested in some of the great eateries that are not well know but that are superb!! I am from NJ and even though that is considered "local" I would never have found these places without embarking on this wonderful tour! |

I have visited NYC more times than I can count. Normally I would just walk around and explore the city on my own but a friend recommended this tour so I had to give it a try. I was a bit worried that the tour was 3 hours and my mom who has back problems might not be able to walk for that long, but none of that was an issue. The tour is so well organized and they have built in the perfect number of sit down spots and rest breaks. Our tour guide Carrie Ann was delightful and extremely knowledgeable and friendly. By the end of the tour I felt like a true local who knew all the hot spots. I will definitely be doing the other tours the next time I visit!! |

This is our third time touring with this company and we have never been disappointed yet. On this particular tour the guide Dianna was very informative about the architechture and the history of the neighborhood. The good thing about these food tours is that it makes a small piece of NY personal. It makes you want to come back another day on your own to try out all the other establishments, and revisit the venues on the tour. |

Well, the fun began before the tour even began when the owner of the Cafe came out and informed us it was easier/warmer to sit inside his place then stand outside on the sidewalk.! From then on, it was walking, eating, talking, eating, learning, eating, laughing, eating! And then we ate some more. Certain things I NEVER thought I would like I LOVED, certain foods I had heard about or seen but never had the opportunity to try rocked my world!
We even had a lady in line at the pasta store complain we were cutting in line, (we weren't) , and then STOP and listen to everything our guide said, HOLDING UP THE LINE! You should have charged her admisson.
GREAT way to spend the day. Now i am off to the gym............. |

We were a group of 6 women celebrating a college reunion in the big apple.
The tour guide was wonderful, knowledgeable and charming!
We learned all about the history of the locations and sampled delicious food along the way.
We were joined with a group of women celebrating an upcoming wedding and surprising the bride to be.
They were a great match for us. I (we) highly reccommend this tour to everyone!! |

First and foremost, be sure to ask for Bert!! Fabulous guide and tour of so many places you would probably never know about otherwise. Very interesting stories about the owners, architecture, and history of NYC. And of course the most important thing~the food samples are plentiful and absolutely DELICIOUS!!! They also give you valuable "insider info" on other hidden foodie treasures in the neighborhood and include a nice brochure with a map of all the places you visited and coupons that don't expire so you can take or ship your booty home. Best day ever in NYC!! Loved it~ |

Along with 8 friends, we booked a tour for our friends Batchelorette party (this was how we started the day). Bob was our tour guide, and was very knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend him! The one complaint all of us had was the sequencing of the tasting. I understand logistically why it was done this way, but we all felt a little ill...We started with delicious red velvet cupcakes at Elenis, then had some yummy chocolate milk (Ronny Dairy). Then, we moved onto the fish market for creamy soups. After, we went to Buon Italia for some delicious meats, cheeses, olives and onions. After that, we walked around a little and finished with some delicious Italian food. The history of Manhattan is so interesting, and a lot of people aren't familiar with everything that has changed and affected our city today, dating back to the 1600's. My friends and I can't wait to take another tour! |

The weather wasn't kind, so the bits on the street weren't as good as they would be if it were warmer, but that's not your fault. We heard a huge amount about New York food we would never know without going on the tour, and we tasted amazing things. I wanted to go back to them all. Don't miss the (optional extra) mojitos. We did go back for another one of those!
I booked a food tour, but also got a lot of information about the Village, its history and buildings, and our guide, Raheem, really knew his stuff.
I'm coming back to do the Chinatown tour. |
