Local couple looking for a way to entertain out-of-town friends

On a scale of 1 to 10, I give it a 7. It was entertaining and informative. The only issue was that our tour guide was a little young and seemed to lack the depth of knowledge of other more experienced tour guides. Although certainly passionate about food, she got some facts wrong about NYC architecture and history. I'd make sure the tour guides were a little better trained next time. Otherwise a good time - thanks!

We thoroughly LOVED this tour. Our guide, Michael was very entertaining. It was an absolutely wonderful way to intimately experience this little part of New York. We highly recommend this. Due to the length of the tour, it's best suited to teenagers and older.

Michael was the best! This was so much more than a food tour. He was a delightful host, informative, so connected to his neighbourhood. Learned so much about the history, architecture, social interactions, the restaurants...I just cannot say enough about this tour. I will go on it again. By the way - the best cannoli I have ever had. I have already been recommending this to New Yorkers I met & those at home.

local friends, taking the opportunity to explore city closer

I enjoyed the tour and tastings. and would recommend it. Mike provided excellent history and "color." Only suggestion would be to tighten the route (it seemed we'd pass some stops only to return to them later).

I would highly recommend this tour. We had a wonderful afternoon touring Greenwich Village and our guide, Michael, was fantastic. We are looking forward to returning to the Village to check out some of the sights we learned about on the tour. Great job, thanks.

First visit to NY

This was a really wonderful tour. Our guide "Kurt" was wonderful, animated, and well informed. He did a superb job of detailing the history of Nabisco building, the renovation process, and the current lease holder and how they fit into the vision of Chelsey Market place. In addition Kurt gave us a wonderful tour of the "Meatpacking District" and the current renovation of that area. He kept it moving without it feeling rushed and there was never a dull moment. I am not a "tour package" kind of gal but this was the only way for one to get a feel for the rich history and information on this exciting area in such a short period. I would recommend it to anyone and would do it again myself. Julia Bledsoe Reno, Nevada

I thought all of the information was fun and informative. The tastings covered a wide variety and we enjoyed them all. Our guide was very knowledgable and did a good job of keeping the group together. I would (actually already have) recommended this tour to others visiting NYC.

The guide was excellent... funny and informative. I learned a lot about the area as well as seeing the sights. I know that we would have never explored this area on our own, but now we will definitely go back.

I can't recommend this tour highly enough. Our guide, Susan, was the highlight, as she was able to fill us in on New York life, food, architecture and history and keep it interesting and fun. (The food was great too.) It was the perfect way to get to know at least a small part of New YorkCity.

visitor learning my way around New York

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves food and wants to learn something about Greenwich Village. Susan was an excellent guide. She delivered the right mixture of gnosh and talk, all with humor and wit. The guide to the Greenwich Village eateries distributed as part of the tour proved to be invaluable. No one had to worry about scribbling down notes while Susan talked -- all the eateries in the tour were listed in the guide. I later used the guide during my stay in New York to return to the Village on my own to further explore some of the eateries. It was a great tour -- very well done.

Three Friends Visiting NYC from San Francisco

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. It was genuinely a food tour of Greenwich Village. If you are interested in foods of the area, generous food tastings and a feel for the neighborhood with a bit of history, architecture and miscellaneous trivia thrown in, this is the tour to take. Visiting Chumleys was a highlight, although, I think they should give you a food tasting with a 3oz. cup of ale while sitting there. It would have made the experience even better. Cindy, our guide, was knowledgeable, knew the neighborhood and many of the locals and was very entertaining. It was three hours that flew by. The groups are kept small which makes it easy to maneuver around. I would highly recommend this tour.
