We loved this tour
Sun, Aug 31  11:00 AM pima46 Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
My husband and I enjoyed this tour very much, so much so that we plan on taking the other food tours recommended - Greenwich Village and Soho food tours. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and very personable. We met some very nice and interesting people on the tour. We sampled so much food on the tour that we weren't hungry for many hours afterwards. The best part is that we discovered an area of New York that we didn't know existed, and we visit New York on a regular basis! I recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys food as well as enjoys learning a little history about New York.

Raheem was very knowledgeable and completely charming. We didn't LOVE everything we ate, but it was an awesome experience and we were very full afterwards. I am happy I learned so much about sushi and Japanese culture. I have done almost all the tours Foods of New York offers except the Chinatown one that I want to do with Raheem when I'm in NY on a Wednesday.

My date was very pleased.

We love Japanese food and ate it often but the menu served by this tour has all the stuff we never had before (except for the dessert) and they tasted incredible! I am a very picky food eater and I finished everything on my plate. I will definitely recommend to another friend.

My boyfriend and I loved this class so much when we were in New York in April that we attended again last weekend. True to form, Rahim did NOT disappoint. We had a fantastic time! The food was excellent and our group was a ton of fun! Thanks again for a great time and you will see us again on one of the other tours (next time, we'll have to hit the Chinatown one!). :)

Our guide was a very enthusiastic as well as entertaining. She provided us with a historical view into Greenwich Village that was very enlightening. We enjoyed the various food stops as well as samples provided there. All in all I would recommend this tour to anyone visting New York. It was intimate and like a fresh breath of air away from the busy traffic around Times Square and surrounding area.

Too many restaurant reviews
Sat, Aug 30  11:30 AM jkanoskie Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We did like the tour but we do have a few suggested changes: 1. Our tour lasted from 11:30 to 3 pm. This was too long. 2. Too many restaurant reviews/recommendations which were not of real import. While I can't remember them specifically, they were more like "a good place to get soup, " "a nice place for a date" or "all entrees are under $20." I didn't find this interesting at all. If I were interested in restaurant reviews in the area, I would go to Chowhound.com, Zagats, etc. and not pay $44 to stand on my feet and hear about them. 3. The food samples were fine as well as the anecdotes on the food itself. I would have preferred a greater emphasis on the food and Village history and keep the restaurant recs to a minimum. 4. And how does an aromatherapy store have anything to do with a Food Tasting and Cultural Tour any way?

WONDERFUL!!

This is my first tour of this kind and we didn't know what to expect. It was wonderful. The guide was great, so bubbly and energetic. She showed us places I would have never thought to go, these little mom and pop places that have been in the area for years. I would definitely do a another one, and I would definitely go back on my own to these sites!

I did this tour about 3 years ago, and loved it so much I wanted to do it again. My boyfriend also really enjoyed himself. Cindy the tour guide was so amazing. She shared so much of her knowledge with us. It is such an awesome way to spend 3 hours in the city.

Delisciously Informative

This tour really was above and beyond anything that I had expected. There are a few things that it wasn't. It wasn't rushed or boring. I was amazed at how great the food was, and that there were so many stops for more of it in way larger portions than I had anticipated. But more than that, the stories about the restaraunts, the people that work at them, the neighborhood and it's rich history, was absolutely wonderful to learn about. Our tour guide, Bari was really fun. She has a wealth of knowledge and a great sense of humour. It was fun to meet someone who enjoys good quility food as much as I do. Thank you so much for this most memorable experience. The first thing I'll do next time I come to New York City is check out another food tour!!! Oh, and did I mention this tour is exceptionally cheap considering what we got? It is! The tour was amazing and I am forever grateful to have learned more in three hours then days of touring the big apple. Thanks and thanks again!!! Jennifer Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

The highlight of our New York visit!
Sat, Aug 30  11:30 AM wgdlsteuer Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We thoroughly enjoyed our food tasting tour of Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District! Our guide, Ed, was a fellow "foodie" and kept us interested and entertained while he shared the history and inner workings of the market and the Meatpacking District. In addition to the variety of delicious and generous tastings, we felt like we really got to know the area. It was fun to peek inside some of the new trendy restaurants. We even went back later to shop and have dinner! Highly recommend!

highlight of my 4 day NYC visit

My girlfriend and I took the Greenwich tour last year so wanted another tour this year. This was my favorite thing I did (includes seeing 2 B-way shows). This was the best money we spent, was so educational, and fun. Our guide was super!!! He kept us entertained and learned all our names within minutes. (KEEP HIM ON BOARD)! I can't find enough good words to say how much I enjoyed every minute. One reason I really liked this one is that it did not involve as much walking as the Village tour. I bought so much stuff from almost every place we went and we even ate dinner that night at Del Posta, all because of the tour. This is a fact that the places on tour should know. It is definitely a sale booster for them. I recommend this tour to locals, as well as visitors. Thank you so much and I will be looking forward to another of your tours next year Submitted from Karen Johnson, Arkadelphia, AR

Good Overview of The Village
Sat, Aug 30  11:00 AM rjohnson Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
My wife and I enjoyed the tour as it was a great vehicle from which to learn about The Village and get a feel for the layout - for a future visit. We ended up returning later in the evening and we enjoyed a delicious meal at the Cuban restaurant followed by dessert at Rocco's. We brought another couple along (who had never been to The Village) and introduced them to the area as well. I'm sure this tour isn't for everyone, but my wife and I did enjoy it. Of course the sunny, 78 degree day with a slight breeze and no humidity probably had a bit to do with how much we enjoyed the long walk too! One area they could improve on is the size of the group. We had 18. Due to the limited space in most of the shops/restaurant, taken with the limited space on the sidewalks - and distraction of the traffic - it can sometimes be difficult to concentrate or perhaps hear the guide (depending on the stop).
