| Our group of 8 consisted of visitors from Massachusetts and our adult children who live in NYC. We all thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide Curt was personable, interesting and informative about all the locations, as well as the wonderful variety of foods that were served. We discovered a new area of the city and look forward to visiting some of the restaurants on future visits. | ||||||

| I have been on many tours with this group in Greenwich Village but this was my first tour in Chelsea. This tour was spectacular and I highly recommend it to visitors and locals alike. The tour is organized very well, the tour leaders are always well-prepared and the food and history lessons are very enjoyable. | ||||||

| We are "foodies" so this was a treat...even our 14 year old son whose normally only goes for hot dogs, hamburgers, mac and cheese, pizza, etc. loved the tour. I'd recommend it to all my friends and clients. Thanks again. Tom Linton Altour International Los Angeles | ||||||

| the guide, michael, was very informative and entertaining. along with tasting great food from local spots (no chain restaurants), we learned the history of the entire village culture, including architecture and big news. we learned the "why" of many things, and there were always interesting stories associated with everything. a real "behind the scenes" look. highly recommended. | ||||||

| I surprised my husband with this tour because I had thoroughly enjoyed the Greenwich Village tour on my last NYC visit. He LOVED Chelsea Market! The food was fabulous and the guide was fun and informative. I recommend these tours to everyone travelling to NYC. They offer a great opportunity to learn about the area and taste great food. | ||||||

| Far better than our expectations. Our guide (Erick?) was informative and funny. The pace was great, we saw a corner of NYC that we didn't know and had some great food as well. After talking to friends who live in NYC and thought htey knew the area, we realize we now know it much better. Thanks | ||||||

| I did enjoy the tour...Curt was very funny, informative and prepared. I had a food issue and was unable to eat a few of the items. I don't know if any accomodation was made for my issue, (no substitutes) but in the end I was unable to partake in two of the stops. I think if I had been "shut out" of any more than two I would have felt that I had been ripped off. I would, and have, recommended this tour to friends. | ||||||

| After seeing all the "regular" tourist attractions, we were ready to get more of the flavor of some of the "real" New York. This tour was the best way to do that. Groups are small (no more than 15 or so), and our guide (Rory, a terrific representative of her Greenwich Village neighborhood), made sure we had a good combination of food, history, and architecture information. The places visited on the tour, as well as those listed on the accompanying guidesheet, are screened for 6 months before inclusion. Also, the foods we tried were paid for by the tour company, not giveaways, so they are not "beholden" to any of the vendors on their list. We were given a bottle of water at the start, and the food we received was plenty to keep us going through lunch. That night we even went back, on our own, to one of the small restaurants we had been introduced to, and had a delicious meal. We would never have found it on our own. If you want a different, refreshing New York experience, this is it. We hope to do the Chelsea tour on our next visit! | ||||||

| One of those rare touring experiences that will leave you wanting to stop strangers on the street to tell them not to miss the opportunity to experience Greenwich Village through the eyes of someone who loves and admires her and knows her inside and out. | ||||||

| For the first time on a trip he wasn't disappointed with his "alternatives" and he thought it was a good tour. Normally he balks at walking tours but I told him he would be fed, so he agreed to go. We learned a lot and had a good time. Now we're looking for a local tour in California to visit. | ||||||

| It rained buckets the entire day. The tour looked like it was headed for disaster since a majority of it takes place outside. Well, the tour guides were fantastic, the food was delicious, and half the time we didn't even know it was raining. I absolutely loved the tour and I can't wait until we try the Chelsea tour. I've already recommended the tour to everyone at work and I will continue to sing your praises. Thanks again! | ||||||

| not exactly what I expected. Other reviews recommend not eating breakfast because you'll have so much food. Our tour was at 11:30 and we didn't hit the majority of the food tastings until after 1:30. Our group was pretty hungry! There was a lot of history of Greenwich Village, architechture, anecdotes of literary and artistic types that have lived there - all interesting, but not enough about food. Our guide hinted that he could keep us busy for 4 hours but luckily some in our group had plans after 3 hours so we were pretty much on time, but be aware that the tours can last longer than 3 hours. I would like to try the Chelsea/Meatpacking Tour but others in my group would not. It is pretty adult oriented. However, I have my booklet with the names of the recommended restaurants and plan to return to some restaurants and shops in August. We especially enjoyed learning about Chumleys and hope to return to shop at Aphrodesia. | ||||||

Too much architecture, not enough food

| i had mixed feelings. the tour guide was clearly an enthusiastic local (he seemed to know several random people walking by) and knew a lot about the area. he was also pretty nice and jolly. however, honestly, there was too much talking and the focus drifted away from food and restuarants to a bunch of fairly random, if somewhat interesting, stories that were tangentially related to Greenich Village. In three hours, we tasted food for 30 minutes at the beginning and 30 minutes at the end. at the end of the tour, i felt like i had found a lot of new restaurants (they provide a list of restaurants in the area, with menus and prices) and shops. But, I think we could have skipped the second hour and still covered all the relevant ground. I would only recommend on days with good weather and if you have some interest in history, architecture, etc. along with food ... | ||||||
