Whether you are are a "foodie" or not, this tour should please. Our tour guide Susan gave us a broad introduction to the history of Greenwich Village, it's past and present role in NYC. Tastings were very good, diverse and nicely presented. Loved learning to shop likce a local. |

The tour was much more than I expected--a delightful combination of good food, a good visual history of the area, and a spectacular tour guide, Annie. She made the group feel like instant friends and guided us on a three hour adventure which included food, personal insights of the area in addition to history dating back to the first Italian immigrants, and had an enthusiasm for life which was catching. Even though the day was frigid, we forgot about the cold and listened intently to the many stories she shared about the area. We toured little restaurants which would probably normally have been overlooked by the undiscerning eye, but which were each delightful in its own right. The food was unique and delicious, the stories intriguing, and the tour guide full of energy and love for the area. I would definitely take another tour with this company and would even take the same tour again. If you are lucky enough to go, ask for Annie as the tour guide. She made the area come alive! |

We loved this tour. Anny was an amazing guide. I was touring with 2 8th grade girls who really enjoyed themselves learning about the area and tasting the wonderful food. It was a really great way to spend one of our days in NYC. We will definitely do another tour. This was our 3rd. |

If you are a 'foodie' or want to do something other than visit the typical tourist spots of mid-town, this is a great way to see one of the local neighborhoods, taste some of the local foods, and experience a part of New York you may not normally think to visit. The tour provides a good mix of local history, points of interest and of course tasty food! You visit approximately seven 'eateries' and experience a variety of sample foods from a local pizza shop, one to two sit down restaurants and several specialty shops. Information about the area's landmarks and history are interwoven during the stops on the tour. The food is authentic and in most cases made while your groups waits and it certainly fills you up. I was surprised at the size of the samples you get. You definitely will not go away hungry. The tour starts promptly on time and you do keep moving throughout the three hour time period, but you never feel rushed. You do not typically have time to purchase the products on the tour but each stop is located within a several block area so you can always return to a shop to purchase additional items after the tour. I highly recommend this for anyone who likes to try different types of foods and is looking for something different to do during their visit to New York. |

GREAT TOUR OF CHELSEA MARKET/MEATPACKING DISTRICT
|

We took a fabulous 3-hour walking tour of the Chelsea Market and Meatpacking District offered by Foods of New York Tours. We bought our tickets in advance on-line and they sell out quickly.
Our tour guide, Cindy, did a great job giving us the history of the Chelsea Market building (a former Nabisco factory) and the rapidly gentrifying neighborhood of the Meatpacking District which includes the very popular High Line park. We had a variety of tastings throughout the trip - enough for a lunch. Everything was just delicious and had you salivating for more. Our small group of 12 was from all over the world and made for delighful company.
The Chelsea Market houses the Food Channel and the purveyors in the building supply the chefs there. If you are a foodie, this is the place for you. The quality of the food was impeccable.
Foods of New York Tours offers other tours which we are looking forward to taking the next time we are in NYC. |

A fun walk around the village, so many delicious food tastings, great information of the area, architecture and shop owners. A must-see, must-do when visiting New York. I am a local and I take visiting family and friends on these tours when they come to visit. The tour usually becomes the highlight of their trip! It's also something people should do at the beginning of their stay in the city as the tour will recommend and offer coupons as well for restaurants and shops. You get a good feel of where you want to go back to and areas you want to explore. |

Our tour guide, Rahim, was enthusiastic and made the stops interesting with his anecdotes. He also made a point of engaging the children in the group. Food was good and we were full enough to skip dinner by the end. Would definitely recommend to anyone travelling to NYC. |

Chose to get tickets for this tour to celebrate my foodie-in-training BF's bday; needless to say he was in love! We had an amazing time, ate great food, laughed, walked and learned a lot about a neighborhood we both thought we already knew so well :) Raheem was fantastic. Will definitely recommend going forward. |
