If there is one thing you HAVE to do while in NYC is enjoy the best of the many food offerings it has. This tour is fun, brilliantly curated amongst the Greenwich Village food joints, sprinkled with interesting historical and community information. Loved it. |

My family (two adult kids and my husband) had an awesome time spending three hours on sunday with Bert, our guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about Greenwich Village and pointed out lots of really interesting places and features. The highlight, of course, was the food, and we had plenty of it, each sample more delicious than the one before. My daughter and I have done this tour once before and brought the rest of the family back to enjoy it. They loved it and we enjoyed it every bit as much as the first time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. |

I went on this tour with my mom. Both of us are Foods of NY veterans, and have been trying to plan taking this tour together for ages. We finally made it, and the anticipation was well worth it! When I go on a Foods of NY tour, I always have very high expectations, so I know that there is the risk of a letdown. Noooo letdown here. =) Anny was an incredible tour guide, as good as any I have ever had. She is gracious, friendly, entertaining, intresting, warm, caring, super-informative...just awesome. The food was very delicious, but I have to say, I may have enjoyed the venues visited (history, info, recommendations, interiors, visits from the owners/staff) and the general history of the neighborhood even more. One cool thing about going on a Foods of NY tour as a local is that the tour always reminds me how diverse and fascinating the city is, and why I love it so much! I won't go into detail about the stops because I don't want to ruin any surprises for people who will be going. All I can say is, if you're on the fence about doing this tour...DO IT! You won't regret it! Kudos to Anny and Foods of NY for a job incredibly well done. |

Our tour guide was phenomenal! We celebrated my mom's birthday on the tour and Rahim helped to make it very special for her and her friends. It was a great day! All of the staff associated with the Food Tour of NY were extremely helpful and enthusiastic about the information they were providing. I sincerely recommend this tour! |

I've lived in NYC for 4 years and I still learned a thing or two on this tour. Made a great birthday gift. Put on good walking shoes -- much of the tour involves eating samples outside of the restaurant and then walking around the neighborhood to hear some more historical anecdotes. I was definitely full by the third restaurant and I started with an empty stomach! Definitely arrive hungry. The cost is more than worth it for all the food and stories. |

I'm a local but was entertaining a colleague visiting from the West Coast who had never been to NYC. I thought this would be a fun way to get her to know one of the many neighborhoods of NYC and get some sustenance in the process. This tour far exceeded our expectations - the tour guide told me things even I didn't know, got great insight to some of the Federalist style homes and who lived in them over the centuries, and the food was amazing. I will absolutely go back to every establishment we visited (8 in total and sampled at each one of them) and I've told everyone I know about Food Tours of NY. Can't wait to tackle the other four tours they offer. No need for lunch after our tour. Totally worth every penny. |

All of the food tasting items were amazing with great quality and flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The buildings in the historic are fantastic, and it was so interesting to hear about how the Village got its foundation. Eating in the farmhouse at Palma's was such a unique dining experience. I want to do this tour again when I visit NYC next time. |

We took my Mom to NYC for her birthday and tried all kinds of different food and learned about the Village. It was a great day, could have been more walking, we went out on our own after the tour and found so many more great places. We definitely have to come back! |

Not enough food, too expensive for quality

I do not feel this tour was worth $50 a person. I am not a big eater and even I felt there was not enough food provided to call it a meal (which in the description this was described as being enough for a meal), I can't imagine how the men felt. Most of the stops would cost less than a dollar to purchase that food yourself- wish we had just gone by ourselves to taste things at different stores, would have saved a lot of money. We did not find the information given at all valuable or interesting or anything we didn't know before. Ultimately, I can not believe we spent $104 on this. Would NOT recommend to anyone. |

I've been to New York a ton of times but have never done a food tour, and I'm so glad I finally did. This is a great one, too, because the area has so much history and so much great food!!! The restaurants are also affordable for NYC restaurants and the food is always stellar. Our tour guide was good and knew a lot about the area and things going on around there.
The places we visited were all fantastic. There was plenty of food. Other tours I looked at required you to pay for the food as well as the tour, and I liked that the food was all included. It wasn't a ton of food but just tastings at each place. But after 7-8 places, it was enough. Of course, I had to go back to Faicco's for more rice balls! There was a nice variety of food on the tour as well.
The only annoying thing was that in the middle of our tour, a local started talking to our guide about some political stuff going on in his neighborhood. While I'm all about locals having a say in politics, this wasn't the time or the place for it since we paid for a tour and no one lived in the city! She was very polite and listened to what he had to say but that ended up taking up a bit of time.... I just wish she would have said "I'm sorry but none of these people live here and can't really do anything about it." Other than that, it was great!
It was a great tour and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to do one. I'll definitely be doing another one of a different area next time I make it back to NYC. |

We met our tour guide Marie on Saturday, March 9th. She was early (which I loved) and very enthusiastic and knowledgable about the neighborhood. I highly recommend the Greenwich Village tour! We visit the City often, and usually stay in the midtown area, but this tour really highlighted the area and my husband and I will definitely explore down there a lot more often (especially now, since we know a few places to visit). We loved the stores and restaurants that we stopped at on the tour, our favorites being O & Co and Murray's Cheese Shop. The olive oils that we bought from O & Co and amazingly delicious and we've enjoyed them since we've been home.
The three hour walk is very pleasant and proceeded at a reasonable pace. There was a stop about half way through the tour where we could sit down for a few minutes and have a drink with some appetizers that they passed around, and use the restroom.
The owners of the stores and restaurants where we stopped were very nice and answered any questions that we had about their products.
I would recommend taking the first tour of the day - especially if you're going on the weekend - because the stores and sidewalks get crowded, and it's a pain to keep scooting out of people's way that are trying to walk around you.
Loved the tour, and can't wait to try some of the tours in other parts of the City! You have a customer for life! |

Tried various small mom and pop type restaurants that are now run by the younger generation. Our tour guide Annie was outstanding! Shared a wealth of information about the history of the neighborhood. Ended our tour with warm hugs and a beautiful song before sending us on our way. This is my second tour and will look forward to trying another one in the future. |

Despite the snowy and cold weather, Anny made the tour a delight. She was informative and helped tour members get acquainted with the neighborhood through authentic stories and food. Great tastings were fun in a variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants. A must do! |

This tour deserves a 10. This is my 2nd tour with this company. Anny, our guide, was awesome. She is a natural at being a guide. Great energy, so much information about the area we visited, and she made it so fun and interesting.
The places we ate at were very good, and some places I would not have entered on my own! But I am SO glad I did, and would go back again. A great new mix of foods and places that were a great sampling of what NOHO/Nolita has to offer. Take this tour - Really! |
