Insightful and fascinating 3 hours

Very well balanced agenda that provided a good mix of local history, social evolution of the area, and the resultant foods and restaurants in the neighbourhood. The choice of restaurants and shops was very appropriate. Our guide was very well informed and did an outstanding job.

Very interesting and well worth the $

My husband and I enjoyed ourselves enormously on this tour. The food, although plentiful and fun was incidental to our enjoyment of hearing the history and facts that related to the areas we visited. Our guide knew his stuff and presented the tour at a pace that suited the group we were with. Three hours is a long time and although by the end we were both tired we went away with some great ideas and suggestions to our family who actually live locally. I would say though if the weather is hot, hot, hot as it can be in NYC at this time this tour could be fairly difficult and uncomfortable. Those who get tired easily or who find standing for long periods of time won't particularly enjoy this as it is all standing. In conclusion, I found this good value for money and a great way to see new areas of the city.

A view of NYC more people need to experience

This tour gives you not only the tastes of the village, but points out many shoppes and restaurants /bistros to explore on your own. Also it gives you the history of the area, how it started and developed, as well as the Village's part in the growth of the American Cultural Arts. It's a glimpse of the old city neighborhoods from the sights and sounds of the narrow streets and the architectural charm, to the many smells and tastes of the world's cuisines. Living in New Jersey I have had the opportunity to see NYC in many ways, but this trip is at the top of my list for a Big Apple Experience.

My husband and I had a great time on this food and walking tour. Our tour guide, Susan, was unbelievable. She had a great knowledge and feel for the Greenwich Village area. We learned a great deal about the culture and history of the area. The food was amazing. We were able to try and taste new foods that we normally would not have ordered for ourselves. I will definitely recommend this tour to all of my friends and family that plan to visit NYC. The next time we are in NYC we will definitely book the other food tasting tours. We can't wait!

Our guide Kurt was great value, had an excellent understanding of the local area and made us laugh and laugh... The tour is excellent value, you will not leave without a full belly. The food was delicious and we discovered a part of New York that we may never had found ourselves (the Chelsea Market) Do yourself a favour and DO THIS TOUR!

We thought the Greenwich Village Tour was well worth taking. It gave a very good historical overview of the place and took you to places that you would otherwise miss out on. There was so much food to eat along the way.

The tour and the food were great. Just enough useful information and tasty food to make for a great afternoon in New York. Can't say enough about our guide who was simply outstanding. Great day. All of us would highly recommend the tour. We do plan on attending some of the other FoodTours. Dan & Mary Ann Baczyk

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and paced the tour to suit the group. The food we sampled was delicious and the size of the servings was a pleasant surprise. We have already recommended this tour to family and friends! We also appreciated that we were able to take the tour a day later than planned due to difficulties flying into New York because of plane cancellations. Thank you!

Best Tour EVER!

We did the 3-hour East Village food tour yesterday. I would have written this sooner but I was busy digesting-both the food and all the information that our WONDERFUL guide, Curt, passed along. Within half an hour, he knew the names and hometowns of all 16 people on the tour, which made us all feel really special. We ate, walked, had a snack, listened, walked a bit, nibbled on some food, wandered around, noshed, visited a couple of restaurants, had something to eat, walked about some more, chowed down, and walked yet some more. We had NINE different food stops. Plus we were allowed into some restaurants, not to eat, but just to meet the staff and hear about the cuisine so when we went back we would know the best places to go. And we WILL go back. ALL of the food was amazing, different, unusual, and the BEST of its category. I am having trouble adjusting back to "regular" food (cheese from the grocery store-fugedaboudit!) It was worth every nickel, every minute, and every step we took. Curt gave us ideas for how to spend an evening in the Village-a suggestion we will take and run with on our next summer's trip to New York. Curt was a fountain of knowlege, clever, funny, quick, adorable, and very considerate of the needs of both his guests and the residents of the area. One of the best days I have ever spent in the city.

Our guide, Curt, did an awesome job, leading us through the beautifully renovated Chelsea market and further into the Meatpacking district. The tour was peppered with interesting anecdotes and filled with tasty morsels. Can't wait to try another such tour
