Foods of New York Tours

Our third tour. Really enjoyed it.

Our family was joined by several other travellers keen to experience some of the flavour of New York life, in around Greenwich Village in this particular case. Our guide Rahim did not disappoint. The 3 hours passéd too quickly, taking us through not only culinary but also also cultural high points of the area from the best piece of pizza any of us have ever tasted to wicked pastries all while being engaged and entertained by Rahim's enthusiasm and knowledge of this fascinating area. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our tour- the guide- the tastings- the places we visited. Our only complaint was the cold weather which had nothing to do with you. We look forward to scheduling another tour in warmer weather.

We took the Chelsea Market/ Meatpacking food tour around Christmastime. Our tour guide, Kurt, was fantastic. He not only provided us with delicious tastings from all over the market, including things like lobster bisque, chocolate and prosciutto, but he also was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the area. He was full of tidbits about all of the fresh ingredients as well as the individual restaurants and local markets. He would also show us pictures on his iPhone of dishes he had made using the different ingredients. Kurt called all of us by name and really made the tour informational as well as fun! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting New York.

We had a great time on the tour. Our guide, Cindy, was awesome. Learned a lot about the food and the location. Will do other neighborhood tours on return visits to NYC.

Barri, our leader, was knowledgeable and fun. Food was abundant and delicious. A happy mixture of food, history and architecture. We are already looking for another tour and an opportunity to bring friends back to the Village to the shops and restaurants we visited. We want to do it all again!

A great way to see a NYC neighborhood without having to plan anything or figure out where to go. All the spots are planned for you, it's as easy as following your guide and being ready to eat! You also learn history of the neighborhood and the places you visit. Highly recommend!

Leader knew the neighborhood and gave an interesting perspective on the Village.

This is the 2nd time I have taken the Chinatown tour and it was even better than the first. From what I understand, Raheem is the only tour guide employed by Foods of New York that conducts their Chinatown tour and I have to say that they certainly hit the nail on the head in choosing the right person. Having an in depth knowledge of the subject matter you are presenting will only make you a "good" tour guide. Being able to bring the topics to life for the tour group makes you great. And then...just sometimes...you will find a tour guide who will not only do these things for their audience, but they also have the ability to cultivate what feels like a life long friendship over the course of just a few hours. Raheem is one of these truly outstanding tour guides that you really don't find but once in a blue moon. From his impeccable knowledge of all things Chinatown, to his vibrance and zeal for what he is talking about, to the personal and very human side of himself that he shares, Raheem has you laughing and wishing that the 3 hour tour would go all day long just so that you could keep hearing him speak. If that isn't enough...the food on the tour is just to die for. By the end of the 3 hours, you'll feel like you shouldn't be eating anything for the next 2 days since you're so full...but you'll still have to convince yourself not to go back for seconds at all of the places you had a food tasting because everything was just THAT GOOD! Whether you are in NYC for the first time or if you grew up here, this tour is not one to miss!!

Ted was engaged and informative. We loved the tour and his inputs. Food was good. Stories were great. It has influenced my view on new york and i am highly likely to stay near to greenwich next time in town

The Greenwich Village food tour was the highlight of my trip to New-York. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history, culture and local eateries. We had numerous tastings from the local shops and restaurants and these were interspersed with interesting facts about the history of Greenwich village. There is no way we could have had such insight without our guide's insider knowledge and even in the adverse weather conditions she remained enthusiastic and sincere throughout. Thoroughly recommend this tour.

Raheem was an excellent guide. He was passionate about food and the history of NYC. I was impressed by the pace of the tour - we didn't waste anytime just sitting around. Lots of food and quite interesting. Thanks.

This was the highlight of our entire trip!!! Heather, our guide was like the energizer bunny....bubbly,energetic and very well educated in regards to the history of the area and of all the establishments we visited. The food was outrageously delicious and we tried things we have never had before ie..rice balls!!!!! Don't miss this tour. We booked an 11:30am tour and this was our lunch.Leisuely strolling thru the streets of Greenwich Village, took us back to the early days and gave you a feel of how it was when our ancestors arrived.Thank you for this tour and whenever we come back would love to do another one again. Heather was a delightful tour guide !!!

What a fun way to experience a slice on NYC. Our food tour in Chelsea was delicious and informative. I can't wait to visit New York City again and go on another food tour.

a really fun, and delicious tour of chelsea market. As a local, i learned SO much! Lots of cool facts, and lots of amazing places within chelsea market i didn't know about before the tour. highly recommend!
