Although tour should have started on time regardless of late-comers, it was a very enjoyable and informative tour. Cindy, our tour guide, may be the reason for the success of this tour. She's very knowledgeable and passionate about the city and shares updated and informative information. Loved the pictures of the past that she provided. Showed/discussed past, present and future which both my husband and I enjoyed. My two recommendations for this tour is to (1) include more hot and/or savoury tastings and (2) to at least touch on all the other places in chelsea market as we only discussed/visited half? For example, was curious about the coffee place that makes phenomenal coffee and have great reviews? In any case, really enjoyed and highly recommended!!! Thank you!

Great fun- enjoyed Cindy a lot. Warm and friendly and very knowledgeable. Great sense of humor too. I'm on a special diet and you took such good care of me. I didn't feel deprived one iota! Outstanding Opportunity Chelsea Mkt / Meatpacking Dist Food Tasting Tour

This tour is both an introduction to the history and future of the meat packing district, and an introduction to products from several merchants inside the Chelsea market. Because the products offered by these merchants are so outstanding, its far more than "getting you into the store". Without the tour, we would have had no idea where to start and we would not, on our own, have been able to replicate the experience.

I guess I was expecting more walking on this walking tour, especially on such a nice summer day. But it was almost all inside the Chelsea market. Food was excellent, though. Our tour guide seemed a little too focused on local celebrities and episodes of Sex and the City, which didn't interest me particularly.

Our guide explained the history of the building, the concept of the new market place and a bit about how each business started. The variety of food businesses was good, the food samples were sized properly. Our guide showed us the progress being made developing the meat packing district and ended at the roof top of a hotel in the district that showed us the area. Strongly recommend this as part of a visit to New York City.

My 18 and 20 year old daughers really enjoyed the tour. They were a little hesitant and not sure they'd like it, but it was a huge success. They discovered some places we hope to return for dinner on our next trip.

I went on this tour with my two teenage daughters. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was all delicious and it was great to learn about the history of the area. I would definately recommend the tour to my friends.

Decided to go at the last minute - everyone was out of town and I wanted to go out! Did not expect to learn anything new about Japanese tapas or sushi since I consider myself a foodophile - but I was wrong. Raheem was a fantastic tour guide and the restaurant we ate in was terrific. Had some new tastes, learned a lot and met some great people from out of town. We had so much fun that we all went out for the evening afterwards. I highly recommend this tour - really knowledgeable guide, fabulous food and sake, and lots of fun!

What a delightful way to get to know a neighbourhood! We did the Greenwich Tour and were totally overwhelmed by the content of the tour. We feel so good about knowing a neighbourhood in NYC and were so comfortable with our new found knowledge that we came back twice - to shop and to go the the fabulous restaurant Palma!!! On our next visit to NYC we will definitely do another tour and have recommended it to our Canadian friends. Well done!!!!!
Enjoyable and interesting Central Village/SoHo Food and Culture Tour

The tour guide did an excellent job providing information on the food we were sampling and culture of the area. The food was all very good. My favorite was the smoked mozarella cheese, sun dried tomatos and sausage. When we started our tour it was raining very hard, which put a bit of a damper on things, but by the end of the day the weather was lovely. One of the parties in our group came almost a half hour late and the tour guide accomodated them and took the whole group back to the first restaurant, this resulted in the whole tour running over the time limit.

We went on this tour based on the great reviews we had read. We were initially hesitant, thinking it may be a bit too "touristy", but it in fact was absolutely not. Even though it rained the entire tour (we were provided with rain ponchos) we had a fantastic time. The tour was informative and the tastings were delicious. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I would actually recommend going earlier during your visit to New York- it would have been nice to go back to some of the restaurants we had learned about on the tour. In terms of eating prior to the tour, we wouldn't recommend it. We had read that the food wasn't that filling (although good), so we ate a bit before the tour. We were completely stuffed after the first few tastings and would have probably had more fun had we not eaten beforehand. All in all, this was one of the most fun things we have done in New York City. My husband and I visit NYC a few times a year, and from now on we will definitely be trying the other food and cultural walking tours available when we go.

N.Y. is always an exciting city to visit. Participating in this tour enhanced our knowledge of area while allowing us to enjoy the foods of New York. I would certainly sign up for another tour with your friendly guides. The group size was fine and the pacing was easy. My husband enjoyed the tour as well. Definitely a fun activity.
