What a sensational way to see Greenwich Village. Well informed tour guide, great variety of tastings and great insight into area. One of the highlights of my trip to New York. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Loved the tour, the history, the back street views, and of course, the food. Our teens, 14 and 17, enjoyed it too.

Awesome Tour

Marie was the best tour guide. We were given a very imformative tour and tasted the best food. However, Marie was so enthusiastic in her explanations, history and description of the area, restaurants and food, that it added so much more to the tour. I would highly recommend the tour.

Excellent!

This was my second food tour. The first one was the Greenwich Village tour. I liked this one better, but both were really good. I especially enjoyed the history discussion in conjunction with the food explanations. The only negative feedback that I have is that we were told we would be tasting at 7 out of the 10 stops. We actually only tasted at 6.

Great way to start a New York City adventure

We were thrilled that we started our trip with this tour. The history, culture food and ideas for an evening out help us decide more clearly what the rest of the trip would look like. Our guide, Barri was excellent and you could tell she enjoys what she does. I would recommend this tour to anyone...those new to New York and to New Yorkers that have limited knowledge and appreciation of any particular part of the city.

Barily gave good overview of historical perspective of areas covered. Enjoyed the tibits about the comedy/standup place; how much apartments were going for, really good restaurants and their specialty. Also, the food wasquite balanced with right amount of savory vs sweets. Asian vegtetarian lace is our favorite. Wish we could eat all the savor snacks then hit the sweets later. Prefer that order. Have definitely gave us just enough interest and highlights to mae s want to comeback and explore more on our own.

A nice way to explore Greenwich

We enjoyed our visit but we must admit that we were disappointed. The main issue is that we stood still on the sidewalk at many of the places we visited while our guide went inside to get the different food samples for the tastings. Thankfully, we made it inside Murray's Cheese Shop, a great gourmet shop we absollutely loved. Unfortunately, this is pretty much the only place we went inside that had a true special feel. We had a better time in Chicago when we went on the old town tour. Nevertheless, the tour was informative and an interesting way to visit Greenwich. We felt the second part of the tour was more interesting when our guide told us about the neighborhood rather than restaurants.

Knowledgable Guide and good food finds

Great tour for both locals and out-of-towner. I'm from the area and after this tour discovered so many more places to eat and purchase food. It was great. The tour guide was very knowledgable with the history of the neighborhood and gave good opinions about the places. I can't wait to go on the chelsea tour.

There were 4 of us and we all enjoyed it. Light on the food but rich on the history of Greenwich. We enjoyed it.

Nice walk around the neighborhood, enough food for everyone, would prefer more pastry sampling establishments

Wonderful way to get the feeling of NY neighbors

Wonderful & fantastic - The history the people - all great. The tour guide was exceptional. The only thing I would change would be to add a little more variety in the foods as all were cheese based except for the cookie and the asian.

Well worth the $38!!!

My sister-in-law (in her early twenties) and I (in my mid-thirties) both loved this tour! She lives in Manhattan and I was visiting from Texas. The tour was interesting and informative to both of us--she who had been to the Village before and me who had never been. The food was diverse enough to allow us to try some foods we hadn't tried before yet mingled with some good old favorites--the pizza at the #28 restaurant was fabulous!! It definitely introduced us to restaurants that we want to go back to again. Can't wait for my next visit to do the Chelsea tour.

Great time on a very cold Valentine's Day
Sun, Feb 14, 10   11:00 AM yflowers Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
My husband and I traveled to New York for a romantic Valentine's Day weekend. Back home, DC had experienced the worst snowstorn ever recorded. Needless to say, we were excited to get away. Despite the below freezing temperatures, our tour guide really knocked this one out the park! The tour was rich in content from both a cultural and food tasting perspective. Although we had traveled to New York several times in the past, we learned about some of new York's best "off the beaten path" attractions.

For the ladies week in NYC, this was a perfect activity. Two years ago, we enjoyed the Chelsea Market tour so much, the Foods of NY Tours was high on our list for our return. Even though we were challenged by rain, wind, and the cold, under the leadership of Barri, we enjoyed the walk, the tastings, and received a glimpse of being a local. Definitely would repeat and try the other tours!
