| First impressions last a life time . . . on our next visit to NYC, my boyfriend and I will most definitely be participating in one of the other tours given by Food Tours of New York. We were very impressed by the tour, the guide and Greenwich Village! One definitely gets their monies worth from this tour. The tastings were more than satisfactory (you'll be pleasantly surprised by how satiated you are by the end of the tour!). The word 'tastings' may give one the impression of tiny portions which barely fill the tummy . . . not so with these tastings. The tastings ranged from various cultural specialities such as pizzas and dumplings to desserts and charcuterie and cheeses; the tasting venues all-in-all were either world renowned, Zagat rated or loved by local NYersand were spread out nicely so one never got too full, yet by the end of the tour we were completely satiated and didn't have to eat again until dinner. More importantly is the quality of the tour - the tour commenced at the indicated time and moved along at a comfortable pace; the guide welcomed questions and accomodated for people (like myself) who had dietary restrictions/allergies; and the business owners were gracious in allowing a large group, such as ours, to come on into their small spaces and see what the offered; the tour is a great balance of the architectural, neighbourhood and food history of Greenwich Village. This tour gives an excellent overview of the neighbourhood and let's you in on a few of the hidden gems that you would't otherwise be privy too. Overall we gave this experience an A+. Thanks to Barri, our wonderful tour guide! Sincerely, the Torontonians | ||||||

| This is the 2nd Foods of NY tour I have taken and plan to take the rest of the tours offered. It has opened up parts of the city I have not ventured to in the past. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and he was very funny. A great time was had by all!! Thanks for such an enjoyable day. | ||||||

| This was our ten year anniversary trip. My husband and I had done all of the "touristy" types of things in NY and wanted something a little different. It was off the beaten track and it gave us a greater appreciation of NY's history, especially the Central Village/Soho area. We went by several places that were started around 1915 that are still in operation. There's a reason why they are still in business, they're extremely good. But the greatest thing about the restaurants that we went to is that they didn't have that corporate giant feel to them. So appealing. It made us realize that the next time we go to NY we should probably stay in that area so that we can eat at as many of these locations as possible. | ||||||

| Marie was the best tour guide. We were given a very imformative tour and tasted the best food. However, Marie was so enthusiastic in her explanations, history and description of the area, restaurants and food, that it added so much more to the tour. I would highly recommend the tour. | ||||||

| We had a fabulous time and our guide was well informed and very enthuastic in sharing the knowledge he had of the building and local area. We had such a wonderful time that we went back the next day and shopped until we almost dropped. The food was delicious and enough of a variety that I was satisfied without feeling I had been deprived. Definetly on our next visit to the city we will try another tour. | ||||||

| My friend and I very much enjoyed the food tour - it gave us a real insight into the area, both it's food and history. It was really helpful to know where to get good food and produce, as we were staying in the area. Later I went back and had dinner at two of the recommended restaurants (Palma and Le Gigot, both in Cornelia St) and the dinners and service at both were excellent. Melbourne, where we are from, is the mutlicultural and artisan food capital of Australia, so we pride ourselves on knowing all about the best. We had high expectations of Greenwich Village and it more than lived up to them, and we would not have known where to go without the tour. :) | ||||||

| I have been to NY every summer for years and have never had an experience like the food tasting tour. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and delightful to listen to and the food selections were fabulous. I'm a big foodie and was thoroughly impressed with the food that was provided. There is a great variety as well as personal interaction with some of the proprietors. Not only do you get a chance to sample fantastic food from local businesses, but you also receive a great recap of historical facts regarding the area. I can't wait to come back and try another tour!! | ||||||

| Marie--heard her name but do not know the spelling--was outstanding. Her knowlege of the area and background details came through well. and she loves her work....Need to give her a raise soon! And her enthusiasm is exceptional. Do how wear her our with too many of the same tours too close together, so she can keep fresh.........Members of the group picked up her enthusiam and were friendly to each other and with me, (as I was the late arrival, having just trained in from Pennsylvania.) Would hope for such a guide in Pennsylvania sites. Can highly recommend her....but do not extend this comment to apply to your whole staff, as I have not heard/met anyone else with your firm. al holliday in Camp Hill Pa | ||||||
