Foods of New York Tours

We were very impressed with the tour. Rory (our guide) was excellent and full of very interesting information. She was so bubbly and enthusiatic that she made the whole experience so enjoyable that we will definitely be recommending it to our friends who will be visiting New York.

Once again we had a fantastic experience with the tour having previously taken the Greenwich village tour! I cant reccommend it highly enough but one tip is dont have breakfast coz you would be stuffed! We spent the next day revisiting the places and eating our way around Chelsea market! I would probably take this tour again! Todd is a fab tour guide!

Highly recomended - Informative and fun - Not your ordinary tour - so personal

I loved it!! I was looking for an interesting morning while my husband was in meetings, something not in the guide books, not involving standing in line, and does include food! Rory was very interesting and kept things moving at a good pace, I loved her sense of humor. I felt like I learned alot about the area, it is obvious she loves the neighborhood. I would recommend it to anyone visiting or living there, a good value and alot of fun!

i would recommend this tour to anyone who's interested in knowing more about greenwich village -- the people, the history and the food. discovering greenwich village's hidden treasures opened up a new world, something we would have missed out on had we not gone on the tour. being able to visit these various restaurants, shops and historical sites, as well as, taste various treats, was simply a unique experience.

I was one of the Moms from SC. I have traveled to NY for many years on business and never been to the Village. (I used to be a travel agent - and this would be something I would have recommended highly to my clients). The combination of food, history and interesting facts made this tour one of the best short tours I have participated in. Rebecca, the guide was excellent. I am coming back to New York on July 9 for another week and bringing my husband. I am going to do the tour again, with my husband and daughter so they can experience it as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed this "insiders view" of Greenwich Village - interesting facts and food finds that you just don't get walking around on your own. I would highly recommend this for anyone interested in food/restaurants. I can't wait to go back and try one or two of the restaurants that were pointed out on the tour!

Great! We had a wonderful time. The food was wonderful and the tour was very informative. Our eleven year old enjoyed it. Our tour guide Cindy was fun and made our day most enjoyable. Highly reccomend this tour.

Fascinating tour, great guide. I would highly recommend this. The time flew by, the food we tried was delicious and varied (and there was plenty of it), and I learned a lot about an area of New York City that was unfamiliar to me. I was even telling people about this on the plane home, and encouraging them to take this tour the next time they travel to NYC. The map and restaurant listings that were handed out to tour participants were very easy-to-read, and helpful.

The tour was great and very interesting. It gave me a new view on Chelsea and the Meatpacking district. I can't wait to go back and check out the area again. Cindy was fabulous!

The 1st hour was pretty boring, since it was mostly our tour guide explaining to us the restaurants on Cornelia St. True, they are all nice restaurants, but standing outside listening about them didn't do much for me, and I don't think the other people there cared much either. Otherwise the tour was good. I liked going into the food service shops (e.g. the Italian bakeries, the chocolate shop, Murray's Cheese shop) and strolling through the quiet Village streets. However, I wish there had been more information about specific historical events/moments from the area, since it seems rich in history. The tour was, largely, a hodgepodge of information, which although nice at times, was sometimes frustrating. All in all, I'd rate the entire tour a 7 1/2 out of 10.

I would highly recommend it. The tour gave us a great overview of the foods of NY and also introduced us to foods I normally wouldn't have eaten. We ended up going back down to the village for Turkish Kabobs for dinner one night, and went back twice for the pastries from the Italian bakeries. Andre our guide, was friendly and courteous and a real pleasure. Thanks Andre!

I often go into NYC for dinner, theater, museums. However, these are very quick day/evening trips. This tour gave me the opportunity to slow down and concentrate on exploring one area of the city in a little more detail. Andre, our guide, was wonderful. Loved tasting the culture of the village too! Nice array of ethnic foods. Can't wait to go on another one of your tours!
