loved it!!!

I was guy from NJ on the Greenwich Village tour on Friday's 12:30 tour. It was amazing!!! All of the different foods were fabulous and the history our tour guide gave us was quite interesting. I will def. return to the village to explore it more on my own in the future. It is awesome to discover such a quiet place in the big city. All of the locals were so nice. I recommend that anyone who travels to NYC takes this tour. You won't regret it.

Very pleasant tour!

My daughter and I, real foodies, recently took the tour and we enjoyed it very much. We had an excellent guide named Barry. Apart from being friendly and clear in her explanations, she also had a sense of humor. She provided us with lots of interesting historic and culinary information. During the several stops, we were also able to sample some of the delicious specialties from the neighbourhood varying from cheese to pizza and Thai foods. Eventhough I am familiar with Greenwhich and Soho, taking this tour has given me a different insight both on it's history and it's culinary delights. The buildings, streets, ambience, good restaurants and small shops also remind me of Europe. It has been a lovely experience and I would certainly recommend it to others. A note: don't forget to wear comfortable shoes! Eliane (Netherlands)

Good value. Lasted for 3 and 1/2 hours. Gave us lots of local knowledge about places to eat and provided lots of information about Greenwich Village history. The food was amazing and there was lots of chances for sampling.

Excellent time!

Great sample of truly classic and high end shops in the Village. Got a real education in both restaurants to dine at and in shops to get quality foods. We also got a great sense of the history of the area, both with regards to food and other cultural happenings.

We had a blast. Myself, with my 3 daughters, ages 19-28. LOTS of delicious food. LOTS of interesting info (Cindy is a treasure--don't book without her!). I wear a brace for a very bad leg, and it was an easy walk. My one suggestion would be to include TWO bottles of water instead of one, at least on the very hot July days. Great time--will do this every year on our visit!

Can't wait to do another!

I had high expectations of the Chelsea Market Tour, as many friends had told me about these tours. The tour was wonderful and our leader, Cindy, full of energy and information. The food was good, but not the highlight of the trip, which was the information, historical, archtectural and foodie! I can not wait to bring my husband with me next time to do a different tour hopefully soon. I will certainly recommend the tour and already have!

Most enjoyable educational time

This tour was completely amazing, not only did we get to experience a very diverse menu we also learned about the history and architecture of the area. Our tour guide Raheem was quite knowledgeable. He really knows his history, everything came from memory. He had no prompts. I totally recommend this tour and am looking forward to trying the others out.

Rahim was our tour guide and he was fun and very knowledgeable. There were six of us in the group and we all agreed that this was worth every penny and the highlight of our trip. We loved tasting the different foods as well as learning about the culture and history of Greenvich Village and Soho. I will definitely book another tour when I visit NYC again.

Couldn't have been better!

Our tour host was Ed Caraballo, an incredibly energetic, knowledgeable, and entertaining guy who has his own website if you want to check out his colorful past. First of all, this tour was an excellent value just for the food samples alone. For $44 the 16 participants enjoyed slices of two different kinds of pizza (from Joe's and Bleecker St.. Pizza), a rice ball from Faicco's, several cheese samples from Murray's, olive oil and vinegar from O & Co. (served on excellent peasant sourdough from Amy's Bread), a chocolate chip cookie from Milk and Cookies Bakery, cannoli from Rocco's, a small chicken dumpling from the Thai restaurant Lime . . . where does it end? There was even a coupon for a L'Arte Del Gelato cone, although I don't think anyone was hungry enough to turn it in. But the great thing was Ed and the amazing amount of NYC history and culture he conveyed while leading us around perhaps six square city blocks. (There isn't a lot of walking involved.) Besides Lime, he took us inside three other restaurants including Palma with its charming garden and 19th century farmhouse in back, the legendary Cornelia St. Cafe, and the neighborhood bistro Pesce Pasta. He showed us the Cherry Lane Theater along with many historic structures such as the now-crumbled Chumley's speakeasy, an old brewery plus the residence of the people who worked there, and the buildings that became triangular to make access to the Holland Tunnel possible. He was particularly good on architecture (old styles of bricklaying, clinker brick, archways where horses once entered when the area held tobacco fields, etc.). Finally, he traced the evolution of the West Village as British, Irish, German, Italian (and the current yuppie) folks progressively settled there over the past 200 years. All in all, a very worthwhile visit to a still fairly untouristy area and a great value. As a cultural anthropologist, I found it fascinating and I plan to take more tours arranged by this vendor when I go back to the city.

Great to enjoy with out of town guests!

We live in Connecticut and have been on the tour previously. Friends from Chicago were coming so we thought that this would be a great way to see them but to still be "doing something". We loved Ed, our tour guide and I loved all the recommendations for little restaurants to try. I can't wait to take one of your other tours.

A must do whilst in New York
Thu, Jul 10  11:00 AM JackieT Female 40-49 International Tourist(s) Family With Children
Fabulous tour and great tour guide. A wonderful range of locations visited, which good breaks in between all that eating... Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendlly, and went out of her way to include everyone. Good balance between history of the food places we visited and also the architecture and history of Greenwich Village. Definitely a must do whilst in New York.
