Went for the food, stayed for the history lesson!

My husband and I had a great time on our tour. Our tour guide, Heather, was very pleasant and informing. It was great to see NYC off the beaten path and get some insiders information on places to eat. All of the food we tasted was delicious and was plenty to take place of a lunch meal. The walking was good exercise to burn off all the calories. We especially liked the history lesson about the area and different buildings, it was quite interesting. I highly recommend the tour!

We really enjoyed our tour with Heather. She knew her material. She was very friendly and considerate to make sure everyone could hear her as well as keeping everyone in the shade on a hot sunny day. We enjoyed all of the food stops as well. We would highly recommend this tour.

Fun - But outdoors first

I know it's hard oudoors...the guide almost needs a microphone due to the traffic - but...I think an earlier start (i.e. 10:30) starting with approximately 1 hour outdoors ending up at the Chelsa Market would have worked better. Bythe time we got outside it was hot and people seemed tired.

Amazed at the transformation of the Chelsea Market

I lived in New York years ago when the Nabisco building was abandoned. Coming back for a visit, I was amazed at the transformation of the Chelsea Market. The bakeries, wine vault, seafood market and vegetable markets were some of the businesses that lined the hallways of the old Nabisco building. I strongly suggest that if you once lived in NY and are returning for a visit you must take this tour. It is amazing how the entire area has changed. It was wonderful.

We had a hard time eating all the food. Not little samples but FULL portions. Enjoyed the presentation and appreciated the bottle of water (it was quite hot out). Would definitely recommend.

Terrific Tour

We took the Greenwich Village tour last July and had a fantastic time with a fabulous tour guide, Cindy. So you can imagine how thrilled we were when our tour guide arrived and who should it be but Cindy! We knew we were in for a great time and we were not disappointed. You can keep the museums, monuments, etc and give us these terrific food and culture tours! I would like to add that I agree with one of the other reviewers (donnalley) that it might be nice to start at 10:30 outside and move inside later especially in high summer. I realize that this may not be possible since the crowds are probably larger later. However, if at all possible I think it would be nice to reverse the order.

The highlight of our NYC trip. We will be taking more food tours on our next trip. Learned the history of the Village area and had a chance to sample some of the local eateries from the area. We were very full after the tour. Definitely worth the money.

This was my husband's first time taking one of the tours. He loved it and looks forward to attending another one. I, on the other hand, have taken the Greenwich tour twice before and have also enjoyed the Chelsea Market and Central Greenwich tours. The guides have all been wonderful...great personalities and a true enjoyment of the city and it's spectacular neighborhoods. You will see us again soon!

Fantastic time!

My husband and I booked a Greenwich Village food tour with a guide named Curt. Curt memorized the names of every person in our group as we introduced ourselves to him. The next three hours flew by as we walked, listened, laughed, and sampled foods from several different establishments. I was stuffed by the time we were done! We tasted two different types of pizza, arancini balls, cheeses, olives, and salami, chicken dumplings, cannoli, gelato, olive oil drizzled on artisanal bread, and chocolate chip cookies. I cannot speak highly enough about our tour guide and the tour itself - Curt was personable, intelligent, knowledgeable, friendly, and had a charmingly snarky sense of humor. I can't think of anything he could have done to make the tour more informative and fun. We enjoyed it so much we came back to Greenwich Village the next afternoon to purchase olive oil and enjoyed a discounted pizza courtesy of a coupon in the booklet given to us as a guide for the tour. The next time we come back to New York, we will definitely consider a food tour of a different neighborhood.

An amazing way to see Greenwich Village
Tue, Jul 1  11:00 AM TerrieF Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
I high recommend this tour if you want the sites, and history of Greenwich Village. As a New Yorker who moved away about 20 years ago it was wonderful to walk through the village and see the amazing transformation of this area. I booked this tour because my son, who is a culinary student, was looking for a place to do his internship. This tour was a great experience since we were able to taste our way through the tour. We were impressed so much we went back to the village three times on our own. I will now be getting regular delivery's from Murrays cheese shop, Pastries from Rocco's, and Olive oil from O & Co. And if it was possible Pizza from Joe's Pizza. Our tour guide Ed was great. He was very informative and he had a great sense of humor. Everyone in the neighborhood seemed to know Ed and he knew them too which made it very special. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting NYC for the for the first time and to those who have moved away and are returning to see what has changed over the years. Thanks for a great experience and thank you Ed for a great tour.

This trip was great! Mike was a fabulous guide. We took this tour on our first day in the city and returned several times during the week to try the fabulous restaurants and and visit the shops he recommended. This was well worth the time and money!
