Girls Weekend in NYC
Fri, Jul 25, 08   11:00 AM KReynolds Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
In celebration of my two girlfriends turning 50 this year we decided to head to NYC for a 4 day weekend. Our first activity booked was the Food Tour. Not knowing what to expect we went with an open mind. Starting with our tour guide Marie...Wow, is the word that comes to mind!! Marie was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, very funny and went out of her way to make us all feel welcome. We also had a great group of 14 people on our tour from different parts of the country. As we made our way around the West Village it became more enjoyable with every tasting, and every bit of history that Marie was sharing with us. If you come to NYC as a couple or with a group of friends this is a must do activity. I highly recommend it. Oh, and don't eat before you go...you'll need an appetite and will be full when your done! Thanks Marie...you were fantastic!!

Highly recommend this tour

My husband and I really enjoyed our Central Village/SoHo tour. Rajeem (sp?) was fun and knowledgeable. All the food we tasted was awesome! The next night we returned for dinner at Monte's and also went to the Comedy Cellar, which Rajeem recommended, and totally enjoyed both places. The printed guide we received will be very helpful on future trips to NYC also. My only worry is that now that I've had halva from Ali Baba I won't be able to find anything that comes close to that good in Ohio!

SEE the Village and Soho from the inside out... HEAR the history... TOUCH the heartbeat of America's Village... SMELL the vibrant ingredients of the local and global economy... TASTE the cuisine... BALANCE all you learn and taste with the people that built, and thrive in, this amazing community. This experience will make you a part of The Village. When you're finished, you'll look forward to your next tour.

Enjoyed Ourselves
Thu, Jul 24, 08   12:00 PM davispc Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We enjoyed both the food and commentary. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and well-spoken, and shared a lot of information about the history and architecture of the Village as well as several dozen restaurants. The food was really good, although I have to admit I expected a little more eating, given the number of restaurants that were discussed, and a bit less walking. It would have been helpful if the tour had started and stopped at the same place, as we found ourselves ending quite a distance from our starting point even though we passed it mid-way in the tour. Overall it was a very good experience and introduced us to places we will certainly revisit in the future.

Best NYC tour we've ever taken
Thu, Jul 24, 08   11:30 AM Pennykelly Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
The tour guide has lived in the village for 20 years. His love for the village and its uniquiness was evident. The group size was small and intimate (16 people). The tour it self was not commerialized!

Great historical tour with some great tastes of NY
Thu, Jul 24, 08   11:00 AM Sundberg Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Our tour guide was very knowledgable about NY and the history. We loved the Meat-packing district, and ended up going back there for lunch a couple of times. The local, young businesses were accommodating for our group and the tastes of their wares was impressive and brought us back for more. After the tour we went back to buy gifts and souvenirs for friends and family. We visited Chelsea Market twice more after our tour. We would highly recommend it to anyone -- locals or visitors in the area. The tour group was small (16) and it was fun to share notes with them about what to see, etc.

Fun and Historical

We enjoyed our enthusiastic tour guide, as well as all the food we tasted. There were plenty of tasting stops and our tour guide even provided us with details about the history of some of the restaurants and local homes. We visited original Row houses as well as the doorstep of an old Italian Merchant Mansion.

Great Fun

Our food tasting tour was complimented by a historical description of the West Village area. I have lived in NY all my life and found out things during this tour I was not aware of. David was an excellent tour guide and the way the tour is managed makes the food tasting portion a pleasure. There is enough for eveyone to taste the many flavors offered on the tour.

A must see and do in New York
Thu, Jul 24, 08   11:00 AM ChristinaMc Female 50-59 International Tourist(s) Group of Friends
This is our second Foods Tour in New York and by far the best! Our guide, Ed Carabella was informative, entertaining and catered to the groups needs. The variety of stops, the sample of foods and the information about the places was fantastic! Chelsea Market is an artisan boutique market for food and the variety and creativity of the vendors made this a unique experience. The sample sizes were more than adequate and certainly encouraged the participants to want more and go back. Our group stated that this was a great culmination to our New York visit.

unique Nyc experience

This unique New York experience was excellent. My daughter and I wanted something that we had not done in nyc. If you are a fan or want to be a fan of the city this is the experience for anyone. The guide, David, helped make walk just perfect. We love nyc and wanted to learn more about the history and the tour worked out perfectly, and of course all of the delicious food added to our enjoyment. We really appreciated the booklet to take home that lists some of the eating establishments on the tour so that we can return to the area and try out the dinners. The resteraunts were delicious and best of all were moderately priced so you can go out often. We would definitely recommend this experience to anyone traveling to nyc. It is a grerat introduction to new York or for us something completely unique after you have seen all of the large attractions and want something different.

The tour was a great way to see chinatown and to get amazing food we would never have found by ourselves. The guide was excellent and was sharing his knowledge in a personal way. We had a lot of fun and couldnt eat any more food for the rest of the day. We recommend you all to take this tour, and that you eat a very small breakfast before, if any.

This tour is a must. The highlight of my trip
Wed, Jul 23, 08   12:00 PM jennysita Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
I can't say enough wonderful things about my food tour of Chinatown. First, the food was amazing and I am craving peking duck and dumplings. Raheem was a terrific tour guide. He took us to outstanding restaurants and gave us interesting history of the Chinatown area. It gave me a new understanding of the area and appreciation for the multicultural groups that live and work there. I can't wait until my next trip to Chinatown with my family so I can introduce them to the Chinese food. I would highly recommend this tour to get an insiders look at Chinatown and a feel for its' people, cultures , foods and history. Make sure you end your tour with a back massage and a bubble tea. Unbelievable.

This was our second Foods of New York tour; we had done the original Greenwich Village tour last summer. Our guide Susan was excellent--friendly and very informative. The tastings were all delicious and unusual. I highly recommend you do both tours, and if you're new to the area, do the original tour first.
