Great tastings and history of the area. Our guide, Bob was a pleasure to listen to. We're always looking for new places to see and this tour didn't disappoint. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed the Chelsea Market tour given by our tour guide Bob who was great. You can tell Bob really loved what he was doing because he did it so well. The food samples were delicious and we had to go back and do some shopping afterwards so we could bring some of the great food home. Learning about the history of the building, the owners of the shops and tidbits about about the food network stars was interesting and it really made the market come alive! Too bad we live over an hour away otherwise I would shop in this market more frequently. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone and it was well worth the price of the ticket.

Greenwich Village Food Tasting and Cultural Tour

This is an excellent way to entrench yourselves with the locals. The tour owner has done an amazing job of showcasing the "mom and pop" shops of Greenwich Village. My only regret is that I did this tour at the end of our vacation and not the beginning. When we got back to the hotel, I ran for the computer and tried to sign up for the Soho or Chelsea food tours but hadn't done it soon enough to get in the next day! Our tour guide was witty/knowledgeable. She knew many of the locals on the street and they all went out of their way to hug her and say hello. Since I couldn't join another food tour the following day, we took our ten year old on his own Greenwich Village food tour. (I was afraid that three hours of walking and eating would be too boring for a ten year old boy so he didn't join us on the regular tour.) He ate and compared two Chicago pizzas. We walked into Roccos and he literally took a deep breath of the fragrant scent the minute we entered the shop. What really had him excited were the "sandwiches" at Cookies and Milk. Even after two very big slices of pizza, he ordered a "sandwich" and finished the whole thing. We quizzed him just like our tour guide did but, believe me, our tour guide did it better! He does know why the police are called "cops" and what distinguishes a Broadway show from an Off Broadway show. He viewed the Friends building, the Mattel home where Barbie and Ken were born, the 1/2. The best part of the tour could possibly be in the guide book that is given to each participant which shows the tour directors favorite spots and what to expect and order at that particular location. We couldn't get to all of his favorite spots but our tour guide made sure that we knew about them. At the end of our Greenwich Village food tour we took our tired selves over to Deborahs for some sake sangria and reflected on our wonderful tasting experience! I can't wait to come back to NYC and explore Chelsea and Soho!!

The Chelsea Market/Meat District tour was very interesting and well worth it. It's something different. Most people wouldn't know to go to that area. All the food was delicious. The guide was informative and interesting. We learned the history of the building/Chelsea Market and the area. Very easy to find via the subway. I highly recommend it.

This was our second food tour, having taken the central Village tour last summer. Really enjoyed the guided tour including the history of the meat packing district. The samples of food were delicious and more than enough to satisfy our hunger. Would recommend this tour to anyone.

Chelsea Mkt / Meatpacking Dist Food Tasting Tour

We had a group of family ranging in ages 15 to 71. Everyone in our group was totally impressed and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. I was concerned that the older ones in our group would not be able to keep up the pace, but that was not the case. Having most of the tour inside the meat market on a hot August day worked out great. Even our most picky eaters enjoyed the food and the experience. Our tour guide, Ed, was knowledgeable about the area and food, and we all felt that we learned a lot from our tour. This is definately a place that I'd like to come back to visit the next time I'm in New York. I have taken the Greenwich Village and Soho tours on past visits and was equally impressed. In fact our dinner the night before this tour was at a restaurant that I had visited previously on the Soho tour. I hope that Zerve will continue to add more tours. You've won me over completely as a customer.

The Sushi and Japanese Tapas Food Tasting Event
Sat, Aug 16  6:30 PM dswitzer Female 20-29 Combination Couple on a Date
Perfect for individuals who are open to trying new things. You get a variety of menu items that you may not have chosen yourself if you were to go on an average dinner date. The average customer selections that were chosen for this event were of higher quality than most sushi restuarants that we have ventured to. Along with the knowledge of our host, this event was a perfect start to an evening of fun. We would highly recommended adding the beverage sampling to the meal as well. The choice of Japanese beer and cold and warm Sakis were a perfect match to the selections of food.
Rating: 5 This tour is an abundance of taste and knowledge!

Our tour guide, Mike, was very knowledgeable. He knew the neighborhood and cute little stories on the people, the history and the food of the area. People in the neighborhood also new our guide. Folks kept stopping us and saying hi to him. He was extremely funny and easy going. He was open to questions and had great little folk stories to go with every site. The food was also very good! THIS IS A MUST!

Central Village/SoHo Food and Culture Tour
Sat, Aug 16  12:30 PM jcn816 Female 30-39 Local Group of Friends
The tour was great... but, it is a walking tour, and 3 hours is a little long, so wear sneakers. The restaurants that we stopped at were fun little places that you might pass by if they were not pointed out. And the food was fantastic... a variety of ethnicities were covered, and I definitely tried new dishes that I wouldn't have even known how to order. We even stopped at a restaurant that was based solely on peanut butter!! Additionally, the tour guide gives you the history of the buildings and shops in the area, so you understand why one shop is still there, while others have become, unfortunately, McDonalds.

Central Village/SoHo Food and Culture Tour

Great tour and loved finding all the new places. The only issue was the tour guide walked too far infront of the group...made it hard for some of people in the group to keep up. I would sign up for other tours in a heart beat and go to all the stops again. The history and fun stories added to the tour and made it a great cultural experience.

It was exciting to be in the village and we leaned so much about the neighborhood and the architecture and about the people who settled in the area. The food tasting was so delicious at every place we stopped. The samples were large and the explanation about how it was made and the ingredients that went into the preparation made it interesting as well as helping to make choices to purchase some things for our self. Our guide “Barrie” was fun, upbeat and she gather us all around so we could all hear what she had to tell us. This food tour was in the top 3 things to do while visiting Manhattan along with “Top of the Rock” and a Broadway play.

This was a repeat (went as a couple in February) and we took a group of 9 family members. We loved the history, details, and of course the food and the tour guide! The weather was fabulous - a wonderful day. You won't know NYC until you take one of these tours.
