My family from Cincinnati, Ohio and local family were in to compete and race in the Marine Corp. Historic 1/2 marathon on Sunday May 20th. I thought this trolley tour would be a great way to spend Saturday May 19th together and grab a bite to eat in beautiful downtown Fredericksburg. I purchased the tickets on Wednesday May 23 and a very nice patient man assisted me with my every need. The email confirmation came through, I printed off the confirmation and we were set for the tour. On Sat. May 19th we were greeted by John our trolley tour guide. I had been on the trolley tour before and had John so I knew my family was going to have a great time with John and all his fun ways of making this the best trolley tour possible. John as usual exceeded his knowledge base and kept my family very interested...even my 3 year old niece enjoyed every minute of the trolley ride. Even my local family said they had no idea Fredericksburg had so much history! Everyone enjoyed the 75 minute tour, "it was worth every penny". We then headed to some of the shops in town enjoying the little discount that the trolley ride had offered. We had a great lunch at Eileens bakery . Myhusband and I love living in Fredericksburg, it really has so much to offer. Thanks for the great Trolley ride tour!!!! |

Great Content But Poorly Managed

Great tour and guide; however, the trolly was overbooked as I had to stand the entire tour. Part of the issue was related to the girth of one passenger who took up more than their half of the bench. Additionally, each seat was taken in the end as one smaller passenger was able to squeeze into the seat next to the aforementioned passenger. Technically, at this point, the trolly was overbooked. This begs the question about management of the trolly ride overall. Our reservations were made online days ahead of the trolly ride. |

The trolley tour was a wonderful way to see almost all of historic Fredericksburg along with an informative and entertaining running dialog from our driver. It was our first time in this part of Virgina and the 75 minute tour was a great way to get us on the right track to decide what we wanted to see more of and how we would spend our time in your beautiful city. Thank you so much for your hospitality and friendliness. The tour was great and I would recommend it to anyone traveling in the area! |

Using the trolley tour is a good way to get to know where the historic sites are located and how to plan for your walking tour(s). Only negative comment about the tour is that the tour guide should inform passengers not only to turn off cell phones, etc. BUT ALSO REFRAIN FROM TALKING during the tour except to ask questions. On my tour, some woman on my trip kept talking with her friend in the seat in front of her and was giving her own individual tour because she apparently was from the area. Half the stuff that the designated tour guide said I couldn't hear. |

The driver was knowledgeable about the local history, the architecture etc. We learned a lot that led us to more fully appreciate our time in this interesting city. The trolley tour is a great way to get oriented to the city and plan further exploration. The tour was not rushed---we pulled over frequently to listen to the extended narrative about some of the key sites. Very enjoyable! |

04-14-2012 was our tour and the guide was fantastic. He really knew the history & the area. He sounded like he really enjoyed his job. The History of Fredericksburg is there. But it is how someone presents the information as to if it is something you'll retain. We all admit it was the tour guide that made it happen for us. |

The trolley tour of Fredericksburg was superb! Never a dull moment. Driver was entertaining and presented a wealth of information. It's great to see a town where all the businesses and attractions work together to promote themselves and each other. |

Unable to hear a lot of what the tour guide was saying. Therefore, didn't understand most of what was happening. Guide wanted us to look at something, but he bus was not up far enough to see what he was pointing out for the people in the back.. |
